Along the remaining journey, both detectives and Brian did not say another word until Brian suddenly said, “Jalan straight on this road is about 10 kilometers.“

Brian threw his gaze out the window of a moving car through the rain of teak trees lined up neatly on the left and right of the road giving the impression of shade. Scary and comfortable at the same time.
“Last time I was a dark detective,” said Brian.
“What dive?“ detective Keiko's curiosity is piqued.
The grin on Brian's face was again drawn and it always made detective Keiko shudder.
“You sure you want to hear?“ ask Brian.
“We know that you once joined the special forces and that's all the data that hasn't been erased from the data base. Tell us the rest,” persuade detective Keiko.
Brian glanced through the rearview mirror in the middle of the car and returned a sinister smile.
“Since my youth aspire to be a police officer, a detective like you guys. But there was one event that made me almost give up on that ideal,” Brian started the story.
“What is it, what makes you almost let go of your ambitions?“ detective Keiko is really in a state of heightened curiosity.
“That day was exactly one year I became a policeman,” Brian continued his story.
“So you've been a cop like us?“ detective Keiko interrupts Brian's story but without answering a question from detective Keiko, Brian continues the story that was interrupted.
“That day my lover wanted to celebrate my one year as a policeman but because that day I was joining forces from the police to arrest a bank robber then I ignored a phone call from my lover that.“
Now detective Egan who glanced through the rearview mirror in the middle and smiled demeaning Brian who was telling the story.
“It has not been long since the last phone from my lover, a case report went into the call radio in my car. Because the perpetrator of the robbery was caught I decided to go to the scene of the reported incident with my colleagues to get a promotion and make everyone amazed by me,” said Brian who actually realized how detective Egan had reacted just now.

“It's Ok! I have started to make peace with my past, ” replied detective Egan.

“My past is mine as well as the present and future,” detective Egan said full of restrained anger.
“Don't feel it's your past detective. Looks like we both have a sad past,” sentences from Brian that as if mocked detective Egan.
Detective Keiko who knows very well how the nature of his partner is trying to calm and distract his partner.
