Code 810 - Running to Stay Alive
Chapter Nineteen

The elevator carrying the two detectives stopped on the floor as it should, the door opened and the two detectives stepped their feet out.

Detective Egan directs the pace of both feet to the interrogation room while detective Keiko actually tries to find the whereabouts of detective Abraham first.

Detective Keiko opens the door to a room prepared for detective Abraham as long as he joins the team but there he cannot find detective Abraham.

Detective Keiko walks to his desk hoping to find detective Abraham there but unfortunately there is no detective Abraham there.

“How's Kei? Have you found out where detective Abraham is?“ is ask Mr. Brox who immediately came out of his room when he saw the presence of detective Keiko.

“A few minutes ago detective Abraham contacted me sir,” detective Keiko told me.

“Oh yes!? so where is he?“

“Detective Abraham said that he was on this floor.“

“How about our suspect?“ ask Brx's enthusiastic.

“Detective Abraham has taken him to the interrogation room. Detective Egan is already there and I will also be there now, ” detective Keiko told.

“Good! let's go there.“

Mr. Brox and detective Keiko walked hand in hand towards the interrogation room. But before the two get to the interrogation room detective Egan stops the second step.

“This is the bag that was carried by the perpetrator,” Detective Egan showed the bag that had been by him since earlier.

“OK! you and Keiko go inside and bring this bag as you check the contents inside there,” Mr. Brox gives an order.

Both detective Egan and detective Keiko obeyed the order like the other commands from Mr. Brox.

Now the two detectives enter the interrogation room and detective Egan carrying a bag that is quite heavy in his right hand.

Inside the room, the suspect was sitting with his hands in front. The cold gaze of the suspect made the atmosphere of the interrogation room suddenly cool.

“Welcome to the room of honesty,” said detective Egan greeting the suspect.

Detectives Egan and Keiko sit in front of the suspect, separated by a table. Detective Egan then put the bag he carried onto the table and opened and immediately showed the contents.

“Wow, look at this detective Keiko. It deserves this heavy and feels right when it hits my head, it turns out it is a pile of cash,” said detective Egan when he saw the contents of the bag.

“It seems like a lot. How much is this?“ detective Keiko threw a question at the suspect who didn't get any answers.

Detective Egan found a passport that was right on top of the pile of cash.

He opened the passport and finally for the first time detective Egan knew the real name of the suspect who was sitting in front of them was not Bondan Brown but Brian Candra.

“How does it feel all this time to always use Brian's fake identity?“ detective Egan suddenly asks and mentions the suspect's real name.

“Wow, it turns out your real name is Brian?! A little far from Bondan,” detective Keiko said.

Receiving all the questions and statements from detectives Egan and Keiko did not make the suspect feel intimidated.

The cold man who was sitting in front of detective Egan and Keiko just smiled giving a scary impression that actually did not make the two detectives feel afraid.

“Do you enjoy it, when you take the lives of victims? Oh sorry wrong, I should have said the lives of victims because it seems you not only once lost someone's life, is not that Brian?“ detective Egan said.

“Why are you quiet? what questions have we asked since then is still unclear?“ ask detective Keiko.

The suspect recoiled his seat as if he was sitting casually in his own house then he said, “ I will not answer any questions from you before my lawyer comes.“

Detectives Keiko and Egan salling exchanged glances, trying to understand the way the men thought before them.

The suspect is not a fool, though, jutru he looks smart enough to choose to silence and ask a lawyer who can defend and bounce him in answering trap questions that can directly kick him into prison.

From the next room, Mr. Brox also admires the steps taken by the suspect. Asking a lawyer to come over to his side is the best way to make a mistake.

“I have a lawyer who used to help me in all matters related to the law,” said the suspect.

“It looks like you've been a frequent trouble for Brian's tone lawyer. Are you really really herding the activities of taking someone's life?“ detective Egan is trying to corner.

“As for detectives, the police station is not just dealing with a murder case like you accused me of. There are still other cases for example I was attacked by someone else,” said Brian the suspect.

“There are people who want to attack you? Come on Brian, who would dare to attack someone like you except me,” Detective Egan said.

“Do I look as scared as that detective?“ brian asked with a grin on his face that looked so sinister.

“Ah, you don't be too confident. They are not afraid of you but lazy to spend time arguing with a strange person like you, ” retorted detective Egan trying to demean the suspect in front of him.

Hearing the words coming out of detective Egan's mouth, Brian sekana was hooked. His face flushed and both hands were perfectly clenched, while his teeth seemed to clash holding back the anger that seemed to immediately explode breaking his head.

But a few seconds later, Brian loosened the fists in both hands and his reddened face was now seen to have subsided and the friction in his teeth was no longer done. Precisely now a creepy smile that replaces it all, a smile that has begun to be commonly seen by detectives Egan and Keiko.

“You will call my lawyer or not detective?“ ask Brian.

“Of course, it's your right to be accompanied by a lawyer,” said detective Eggan.

“Just give me your lawyer's phone number and we will contact him for you,” Detective Keiko.

Detective Egan handed out blank papers and pens as a means for Brian to write down the phone number of his lawyer to be contacted by the police and invite the lawyer to come.

After Brian wrote down his lawyer's phone number, detective Egan took the paper and pen and threw a glance at his partner.

“Good, we will call your lawyer now. Be a sweet boy and sit quietly here until your lawyer comes,” Detective Egan said.

“Of course. How can I go with handcuffed hands like this,” Brian said with a smile.

Detective Egan leaves the room followed by detective Keiko who carries a bag containing cash and a passport belonging to Brian
