Charismatic Charlie Wade

Charismatic Charlie Wade
CHAPTER 1

Decorations of lights and lights illuminate the magnificent Wilson family residence.

Tonight is the anniversary of Mrs Wilson's 70th birthday, the head of the Wilson family.

His grandchildren and their spouses gathered around him to give him lavish gifts.

“I heard, Grandma loves Chinese tea. I'm looking for a half-million-dollar Pu'er tea brick for Grandma."

“Grandmother ‘kan devout Buddhists. This Buddha statue is carved from real Hetian jade, it costs seven hundred thousand dollars…"

Looking at the number of neatly wrapped gifts in front of her, Mrs Wilson burst into laughter. The atmosphere felt harmonious and happy.

Suddenly, Charlie Wade—the eldest granddaughter of Mrs Wilson, spoke, "Grandmother, would you lend me a million dollars? Mrs Lewis who lives in an orphanage was diagnosed with uremia and I need that money for her treatment.”.

The entire Wilson family was shocked.

Everyone looked at Charlie in confusion and wonder.

This granddaughter-in-law is being outrageous and disrespectful! Not only did he not give a gift to Mrs Wilson on her birthday, but he dared to borrow a million dollars!

Three years ago, while Mr. Wilson was alive and well, one day he came home with Charlie and insisted on marrying him to their grandson—Claire Wilson. Back then, Charlie was poor and his condition was as miserable as a beggar.

Mr. Wilson died as soon as they were married. Since then, everyone in the Wilson family has been trying to get Charlie out of the Wilson family. However, Charlie has always been uncaring and silent like a statue despite being insulted and ridiculed, and he lives his days in the Wilson family quietly as a granddaughter-in-law.

Charlie had run out of sense, so he had to borrow money from Mrs Wilson today.

Mrs Lewis, who had nurtured and saved her life, suffered from uremia. He needed at least a million dollars to get a kidney exam and transplant. Charlie has no other idea, except to ask Mrs Wilson for help.

Charlie thought because today was Mrs Wilson's birthday, maybe her mood was happy so she felt pity and gave her help.

However, Mrs Wilson who had been laughing cheerfully suddenly had her lips curled downwards and her eyes furrowed furiously.

He threw the teacup in his hand on the floor and snarled, "Bags! Are you here to celebrate my birthday or want to borrow some money?”

Claire rushed forward and said, "Grandmother, Charlie's mind is in turmoil, forgive him." She then pulled her husband aside in a panic.

At that moment, Wendy—cousin Claire sneered in disdain. “Claire, look at the trash you married! Gerald, whose fiance just gave Grandma a jade Buddha gift. Look at your useless husband. Not only did he come empty-handed, but he also dared to borrow money from Grandma!"

"You're right! Charlie, we're both granddaughters of the Wilson family, but you're really shameless!"

The man who spoke was Gerald White— betrothed to Wendy, who was also the son of a wealthy family in the city.

Although, Gerald wanted to marry Wendy, in her eyes, Claire was much more beautiful and graceful than her fiance

Claire Wilson is a beautiful girl who is famous for her beauty all over Aurous Hill, but Gerald is very frustrated and upset when such a beautiful girl marries a loser.

“The best thing for a useless loser like you is to get out of the Wilson family now!”

"Yes! He really embarrassed our family!"

“Maybe the intention is not to borrow money, but to ruin the atmosphere of Grandma's birthday!”

Charlie clenched his fists tightly as the entire Wilson family humiliated and mocked him. If not for the urgent circumstances, he might have already left that shitty place.

However, his father's words echoed in his head. His father taught him to be grateful for the help he received and return the favor tenfold. Therefore, he suppressed his anger and humiliation and said to Mrs Wilson, “Grandmother, whoever saves one life means saving the whole world. Please, I beg for Grandma's mercy."

Someone in the room snorted loudly. "Mr Wade, stop your sad story. If you want to save someone, find a way. Who do you think will ask Grandma for money?"

It was Wendy's brother, Harold Wilson.

Her evil brother and sister were always prejudiced against Claire, who was superior to them in all aspects. Therefore, they always attacked Charlie whenever the opportunity arose.

Claire showed a slightly awkward expression on her face, saying, "Grandmother, Charlie's father died when she was eight years old. Mrs Lewis at the orphanage that raised her. Charlie was very grateful for his kindness and that was why he was so eager to return the favor. Can Grandma help him.”.

Mrs Wilson growled with an angry face, “You want me to help her? Okay, divorce her now and marry Mr Jones! If you do as I say, I'll give him a million dollars soon!"

Mr. Jones is Wendell Jones, the man who wanted Claire even though she was married. The Joneses were one of the most distinguished families among the elite of Aurious Hill, who were much stronger than the Wilson family. Mrs Wilson always wanted to be with the family.

At that moment, the Chief Maid ran in and said, "Mr Jones sent a birthday present to Mrs Wilson! This was a Buddhist talisman carved from jade worth three million dollars!"

Mrs Wilson smiled widely and quickly said, "Give me! I want to see!"

The butler immediately handed the emerald green Buddha amulet whose light shone to the corner of the living room.

The emerald green talisman was extremely clear and bright in color, without the slightest flaw. It was jade of the highest quality.

Gerald who had presented the Buddha statue, immediately glum because he was upset. He had not expected, Wendell Jones who had no connection with the Wilson family, to be so generous and exaggerated!

Mrs Wilson rubbed the amulet cheerfully and said, “Oh, Mr Jones is so kind! What a beautiful dream come true, if he is my granddaughter!"

Then, Mrs Wilson stared at Claire and asked, "So, how? Do you want to consider the terms from me?”

Anger instantly filled Mrs Wilson's eyes. He shouted furiously, “You are so ungrateful! What good is that loser? Why do you want to spend your time with him? Kick that loser out of my house! He's not allowed to be at my birthday party! I don't want to see his face!"

Charlie sighed with dismay and regret. He didn't want to linger with the Wilson family anymore, so he said to Claire, "Claire, I'm going to the Hospital to visit Mrs Lewis."

Claire said quickly, "I'll go with you."

Mrs Wilson shouted again, “If you leave now, you are no longer my grandson! You can take your mother, your father, and that loser and get out of the Wilson family!”

Claire looked at her grandmother, shocked. He had not expected to hear such rude comments from his grandmother.

Charlie interjected, "You stay here, don't worry about me."

Before Claire could calm herself down from her shock, Charlie had already turned around and left.

Harold laughed behind him. “Hey, dear Charlie, if you go on an empty stomach, will you go down the street and beg? If you do, you'll tarnish our surname! Here, I have a dollar, buy some bread or something for you to eat!"

Harold took a dollar out of his pocket and threw it at Charlie's feet.

The laughter of the entire family boomed to the corner of the house.

Charlie gritted his teeth in annoyance and left the house without looking back.

.....

When Charlie arrived at the Hospital, he immediately went to the cashier to ask for an extension on the payment for two more days.

However, when she approached the nurse, she was told that last night, Mrs Lewis had been transferred to Fairview Hospital, Eastcliff's top Hospital, for treatment.

Charlie gaped in shock and quickly asked, "How much does it cost? I'll figure out a way to settle the payment!"

The nurse said, “Total bill is three million dollars. One million dollars already paid, the remaining two million must be completed within this week.”

"Who paid the million dollars?"

The nurse shook her head. "I don't know."

Charlie frowned in confusion. Just as he turned to find out, a man of about fifty years old in a black suit and gray hair stood behind him.

They exchanged glances, and the man bowed before him and said, "Young Master! We finally found you! Sorry for all the troubles and tribulations you have experienced over the years!”

Charlie frowned and asked coldly as if he was a completely different person. “Are you Stephen Thompson?”

The man nodded in surprise. "Young Master, you still remember me!"

Charlie was surprised a little and muttered, “Of course! I remember! You forcibly kicked mom, dad and I out of Eastcliff and left town. My parents died on the way and I became an orphan. What do you want from me now?”

Stephen grimaced sadly and said, “Young Master, Mr. Wade was deeply saddened when he learned of your father's death. He never stops looking for you. Come on, let's go home and meet him!"

Charlie said coldly, "Go, I don't want to see him."

Stephen said, "Young Master, are you still mad at your grandfather?"

"Of course!" charlie said loudly. "I'll never forgive her for the rest of my life!"

Stephen sighed sadly. "Before I came here, Master told me you wouldn't forgive him."

"Good! Fortunately he still had common sense inside him!”

Stephen continued, "Mr Wade knows that you've had a difficult life for many years and he asked me to compensate you. If you don't want to go home, he'll buy the biggest company in Aurous Hill and give it to you. In addition, here, take this card, its pin number is your birthday date.”

Stephen handed over a premium black card from Citibank.

"Young Master, there are only five such cards in this country."

“Young Master, Mrs Lewis still has a two million dollar debt for her medical expenses. If it does not pay, its life may be in danger.”.

“Are you threatening me? Is this part of your evil plan?”

Stephen shook his hand in panic. "Oh, no! We would not dare to do such a thing! Save the card, then you will have enough money to pay the bill.”

Charlie asked, "How much money is on this card?"

“Master Wade said that he keeps some pocket money for you on this card. Not much, just ten billion dollars!”
