A Glimpse of Light For Raina

A Glimpse of Light For Raina
Raina's Memory

Raina Hapsari is my name. An ordinary big girl from a brokenhome family.

Little Raina is always happy, there are always smiles, jokes and laughter that adorn her days surrounded by people she loves.

Until that time came, the mother did not pay any more attention to us her children and the father who always went far to make a living for the family, until there was no more warmth that I felt. Many times my sister and I saw their fights. We often hear harsh words, insults, and insults. Until then, my mother decided to leave us. Various ways my father and my brother prevented the departure of my mother, but my mother remained in her decision.

"Mother, don't stay in Rai, Ma'am ... Rai's coming with Mom, huh?" whining me at that time. And little Raka who kept crying in my father's arms.

"No kid, Rai's just here yeah, same father, brother and sister." Mom kept trying to let go of my grip without even looking at me.

"Riska, look at your children! they still need their mother. Please, Ris, hold on for them!" I shouted, half-begging to my mother. But still ignored by the mother. Mom kept her feet going to leave us.

And I could just sit there crying in my brother's arms.

Day after day we passed without a mother. I'm the little Raina who took over in place of the mother in this house. Even though I'm still sitting on the bench in Elementary School, but I have to get used to adult learning with this situation.

"race ... Raina ...!"

I gasped at the call and I turned to the origin of the voice that broke my daydream about what happened a few years ago.

"Ekh, Brother Aldo, what's wrong? " tanyaku.

"You are this, his work is daydreaming." he replied.

" What? i daydream? ah, no, brother, I do not daydream, no. .. I look at the stars again." I turned to the stars in the sky.

" Once it is, Rai, you know what you are daydreaming about. You must have missed mom again, right?" said Brother Aldo who seemed to know my thoughts.

And to be honest what Aldo said was true. I miss my mother who knows where she is now.

Brother Aldo who understood my movements also moved from his seat left me. After a few steps, he looked back.

"Come, in! when are you gonna be out here? It's night, tomorrow you have to go to school, better get to bed sooner so don't miss tomorrow." He again advised me.

" Ready, commander! Five more minutes Rai entered, really." I said while saluting like a soldier.

How grateful I am to have a handsome brother who is always attentive and always a shield for his sisters.

Back I smiled at the stars while wiping the puddle of water in the corner of the eye that would spill earlier.

I set foot into my washroom, leaving a beautiful night mood. I close my eyes, sail the sea of dreams and hope for a better tomorrow.

Adhan dawn reverberate. I turned off the alarm that had also sounded to build me up. With a giant step towards the bathroom, I immediately took ablution water and carried out my duties as a Muslim.

After I finished the prayer, I hurried to clean up the room and went to the kitchen to make breakfast for the three of us.

I see Brother Aldo has been cool in cleaning the iron horse belonging to the father. Yes, this is the only precious thing we have. If you're out of town, it's Aldo, who wears it.

Father is just a job whatever job he does. Often he still receives offers to work outside the city if there is a call that requires his services.

Although he is no longer young, but his spirit is still passionate in making a living. He does not want to trouble others, whatever he does while still being able and most importantly it is halal.

I was always overwhelmed whenever I remembered what he said about it. Ah, you want me to hug her old body if she's here. I can't feel my tears considering he's a single parent who always fights for his children.

"Raina promised sir, someday Raina will get a good job and will make you happy" I said in my heart while wiping away the tears that had fallen.
