Turning Point

Turning Point
NINETY EIGHT

Jakarta....

The moon appears perfectly round. The light is so bright, accompanied by thin clouds and some stars that surround it, like a painting of the night that is formed so beautifully.

The sound of an owl on a jackfruit tree that sounds so clear in the ear, does not necessarily make this night feel gripping even it makes it more syahdu.

Hanan was sitting in front of the terrace of Lintang house. As usual, accompanied by a cup of coffee and fried bananas, makes Hanan so comfortable to linger in this house. Whether it was because of the coffee and the fried banana, or because of the snack maker in front of him.

Hanan breathed out slowly. Tonight he looks nervous. His hands felt so cold. And occasionally he looks rubbing his face rough.

He slipped into his pants pocket. He took what was in his pocket. A small box of red velvet, inside which is a ring.

Yes, tonight Hanan plans to express his intention to marry Lintang. After several months he refrained from rushing to propose to Lintang, with the intention that Lintang could recover from the bitterness of life he was feeling, finally tonight, Hanan ventured to propose to him.

Hanan hastened to reinsert the ring box into his pants pocket when he heard the footsteps of someone coming out of the house.

"Mas?, coffee want to add?", asked Lintang suddenly when he saw the coffee in the Hanan cup toilet without a trace.

Hanan smiled awkwardly. I don't know why Lintang's coffee is always like opium for him. "Hehe, don't need a deck. Can't sleep all night if it's mostly coffee".

Lintang smiled as he sat his body in the chair next to Hanan.

"Mas?!"

"Daddy?!"

Call them at the same time. Hanan and Lintang looked at each other and then both chuckled.

"You used to be the deck" Hanan said.

The small smiling latitude. "Not Hanan's first?".

Hanan chuckles. "Ladies first, how, is there something you want to convey the deck?", continued Hanan.

Lintang sighed deeply. There were actually some questions that had plagued her heart since Hanan was close to Nana, and she felt that this was the right time to ask her.

"Uummmm mas Hanan did not plan to get married soon?", finally the question escaped also from the lips of Latitude.

"Why do you mean?", asked Hanan back as if he did not understand what Lintang said.

The latitude smiled thinly. "The past few months have been the time Hanan always spent with Nana, do you not intend to start looking for a companion? ".

Hanan chuckled small. "So you mind if I spend too much time with Nana?".

The latitude was flabbergasted, because that was not what he meant. "B-not that I mean mas".

"Then?"

Lintang sighed deeply. "I was afraid that Hanan would spend more time with Nana, so I forgot to look for a companion".

Hanan smiled meaningfully. "I'll never forget that deck thing".

"Thank God then. Does someone already exist?", asked Lintang curiously.

"If there isn't yet, do you want to apply to be one of the candidates for the deck?", Hanan asked teasingly.

Latitude's face instantly flushed. "B-not so mas, i________".

"I know what you mean by that deck. You must want to ask when I will get married right?", said Hanan cut Lintang speech.

"Yes that's what I mean by mas".

Hanan stood up from his seat. Then he rested his body on a buffer pole on the terrace of the house Lintang. "I'm waiting for someone. I don't know if that person will accept me or not if I propose to him".

"How can you know the answer if you never reveal it?", replied the Latitude.

Hanan stared fixedly at the latitude netra. "Yes too".

Hanan then moved his feet towards the latitude. He lowered his body and he used both knees to rest of course with a distance that is not too close. He looked back at the latitude. Lintang was stunned to see Hanan's eyeballs were so beautiful. He then lowered his eyes.

Flabbergasted latitude. He lifted his eyes. "I mean mas?".

"Will you marry me?".

The small smiling latitude. "Mas Hanan if joking outrageous deh!", said Lintang while chuckling trying to cover his nervousness. As Hanan revealed that, his heart felt like it was beating faster.

Hanan scrunched his forehead. "Is my face hinting at a joke?".

Lintang ventured back into Hanan's eyes, yes in his eyes it was clear if Hanan was serious with his words.

Hanan returned to smile. "I love you. Will you marry me?, grow old with me?, raise our children together?, and join one another in grabbing His jannah?"

It. deg.. deg...!!!

Again, the heart of Lintang beats incoherently. If Hanan's position was closer to her, perhaps at this time Hanan could listen to her.

"My-my?"

"Yes you!"

Suddenly Lintang's eyes reddened, the heart that had previously been beating fast now became a sense of tightness that so squeezed his chest.

Marrying. One word that made his brain memory repeat the events of a few months ago. One of the life journeys he dreamed of would be filled with happiness in it just the opposite. Wounds, disappointments, and tears are the end of everything.

Undeniably, seeing Nana so close to Hanan, made Lintang a little dependent on Hanan hope. It should be at this time, when Hanan expressed his intention to make her a wife, he replied with a nod of his head. But the fact is that every time you hear the word married, your heart beats uncontrollably. There was a bit of pain he felt. Yes, latitude is traumatized by the word marriage.

"Mas.. i." said Lintang as if stuck in his throat.

Hanan smiled. He knew exactly what the latitude was feeling.

"A-do you just feel sorry to see my current situation, mas?", continued Lintang anyway.

"No, I know if you're a strong woman, so I don't think I need to pity you".

The latitude scrunched his forehead. And Hanan scanned the expression on Lintang's face. "I've loved you ever since we sat in high school. Even to this day, I still can't open my heart to other women".

"But I left you then. I didn't choose you".

Hanan smiled knot. "Yes, you didn't choose me. But what can I do if God still chooses your name to be the woman I love?" Hanan again let out a rough breath. "I've always believed that someday I'll be reunited with you at a better time".

Hearing the words coming out of Hanan's lips, made Lintang's body tremble violently. He did not expect that there was a man who loved him so wonderfully like this. Suddenly her tears came.

"I'm the one who doesn't deserve to be with you right now".

"What reason makes you say that deck?"

"Statusku", replied Lintang lirih.

Hanan stood up again and sat down on the chair he had previously sat in. "I'm not at all concerned about status______"

"But you deserve a lot more perfect than me. And certainly those who do not have the burden of the past like I do", trim Lintang.

Hanan smiled knot. "But in my eyes, you are still my Latitude whom I have loved until now and that will never change". Hanan stared fixedly at the two eyeballs of Latitude. "There's no rush to decide, I'll keep waiting until you're ready".
