Turning Point

Turning Point
The bonus chapter 3

The roar of the sound of a train crossing the tracks sounded so piercing the eardrum. There were some small children running on the side of the crossing with echoing laughter, as if not afraid of the dangers lurking with the distance so close to the passing train. Maybe because they are used to it, it makes them not feel afraid at all.

On the side of the railway crossing, there are several buildings from the board that are often used for the shelter of the homeless. Not only from the board, cardboard materials are also used by them as a place to shelter from the hot sun and hot air that is so felt in this city of Surabaya.

A woman who was almost four heads was seen scraping through the trash can. Looking for something that can be used to fill his stomach. If he finds used cardboard, plastic bottles, used cans, he will exchange them to junk collectors so that they become money sheets. And if he finds the rest of the rice, then he will soon eat to expel his hunger.

The woman used a crutch she had placed on one of her armpits to support one of her legs that had broken a bone. Even though he looks so heavy to support the weight of the body because one of his legs does not function optimally but he still looks so eager to find the rest of the rice under the hot sun that feels so burning the skin.

Reni Widyastuti's. Fate scratches turned out to deliver him to this city. A city that he had previously thought of as a city that would give him a lot of happiness in his life but was in fact inversely proportional to what he dreamed of.

God is showing His justice. What he has been planting, this is the result he has harvested. Living alone with paralyzed legs, and a face that is no longer beautiful seems to make him the most suffering human being. Long time scavenging the trash can, finally a lunch box he managed to find in which there is still a little rice and chicken leftovers.

He sat his body next to the trash can while starting to put the rest of the rice he got into his mouth. He chewed the rice with bitter feelings. His sight looked far away. He did not expect, his life turned upside down like this in an instant. Did not feel a drop of clear grain escaped from his eye patch.

Not far from where Reni was sitting at this time, two middle-aged people were observing what he was doing. The two middle-aged people looked equally tearful looking at Reni's miserable condition.

As much as any mistake Reni ever made to finally make the two middle-aged people cut off contact with Reni, but still the blood bond that makes their hearts melt instantly. They were once embarrassed by Reni's behavior, but as a family, they did not see Reni's condition like this.

For information from Jonas and Lisa (cousin Tomi), finally Mr. Sugeng and mother Marni (parent Reni), decided to pick up Reni in Surabaya.

Slowly, Mr. Sugeng and Ms. Marni approached Reni who was sitting with her face down while enjoying the leftover rice in her hand.

"Son?", call Mr. Sugeng with a feeling of tightness that so hit the chest.

Reni stopped the chewing in her mouth, her face looking up. Instantly he was shocked half to death by what was in front of him.

He picked up the crutches he had placed near the trash can. With great difficulty he tried to stand up and started to dodge these two people in front of him.

Marni's mother's tears dripped down profusely. Almost he did not recognize the face of his son who looked blackened like a burn scar.

"Son, wait!!", cried Mr. Sugeng while trying to follow Reni's footsteps.

Reni stopped her footsteps. Suddenly, Sugeng and Marni embrace Reni's body. The two held Reni tightly.

"A-dad, mom___", his voice was stuck in his throat. And only tears were pouring down her cheeks.

"We're here to pick you up, son!", said Ms. Marni in a voice that sounded discordant.

"Go home with us, son!", continued Mr. Sugeng.

Reni stretched her embrace. He shook. "I don't want yah, I don't want to go home".

"Why, Son?".

Reni could no longer hold back her sobs. He cried so much in front of his parents with a loud breath. He then dropped his weight and prostrated himself under the feet of his parents. "I'm dad, mom. Forgive me!"

Ms. Marni was hardening her cries. How much hurt Reni ever inflicted on his family, still the door of forgiveness will always be open for the child. "Wake, Son. Don't be like this!".

Reni shaking. "No ma'am, even a thousand times I bow down before you, will never be enough to take away all my sins".

Mr. Sugeng grabbed Reni's body, and finally his position was standing before him. "What's keeping you in this town, son?".

"I'll spend the rest of my life here. I will atone for all my sins here. By living alone and only regret accompanies".

Mr. Sugeng shook his head. "It's not like this, son". Mr. Sugeng sighed deeply. "Go home, meet people you've hurt, and apologize to them".

Reni's gaze glared far away. "Are they going to give me forgiveness?, and do I deserve forgiveness from them, considering the greatness of my mistakes?".

Mr. Sugeng nodded. "Dad sure son, I'm sure they'll forgive you".

"But I'm too dirty, Dad. As a human being I was too despicable with the puddles of sins I had committed. I felt like I didn't deserve to show my face before them".

Sugeng hugged Reni again. "Allah is Oft-Forgiving Son, no matter how much sin you have committed there will be a door of mercy open to you. And for the people you've hurt, they'll surely open their sorry doors for you".

"T-but_______".

"Go home with us, son. Surely you also miss Rio and Farrel right?".

***

Reni is seen sleeping in the car. After a long discussion, he finally wanted to return to Jogja. True what his parents said. If he still has the debt of the word 'sorry' from people he has hurt. Eight hours were on the way, finally the car driven by Mr. Sugeng arrived at his home.

Reni blinked her eyes. Instantly he spread his eyes all over. Not much has changed since he left Jogja two years ago.

"Let's go down" said Miss Marni.

According to Reni, he got out of the car assisted by Marni's mother, then stepped his feet to get into the house.

When Mr. Sugeng opened the door. Reni's eyes widened, perfectly rounded, looking at who was sitting on the living room sofa.

"M-mas Tomi?!", he said softly.

Tomi just smiled faintly towards Reni. Then he approached Reni's side. Immediately Reni released the crutches in her hand and rested at Tomi's feet.

"Ampuni I mas.", said Reni softly with tears that continued to flow from her eyes.

Tomi lifts Reni's body to make her stand while giving her the crutches she has. Tom smiled faintly. "I've forgiven you for a long time, Ren, before you even apologized".

Reni nodded. He tried to wipe his tears. Sometimes he would steal a glance at the man. In his heart was awe. It turned out that the man he had dumped two years ago, was currently turning into a charismatic man. His face looks fresher and his body looks a little full.

"Father, let's go home!", said the boy who was almost in his teens and next to him was his sister as well.

Reni's gaze was fixed on the two boys. Yes they are Rio and Farrel. I do not know how long he left his children, until now they look so big.

"Honey?!", said Reni while trying to hug Rio and Farrel.

The one hugged just put on an expression of his shock. They struggled to escape from Reni's embrace. "Papa, who is this?", asked Farrel who was still surprised by what Reni did.

Reni was flabbergasted when she saw that her two children did not recognize her. "It's baby mama, it's mama!".

Rio shakes. "No, you're not our mom. We don't have a mama".

Reni's eyes reddened until the water droplets dripped one by one. This is what it feels like not being recognized by his children. Is this the pain her children felt when she left them?.

"Honey, this is your mama, Reni's mama!", Tomi explained.

Rio still shakes. "No Pa, I don't want to. I just want to be my mama, Aunt Sinta".

Reni was flabbergasted, who was Sinta?, was Sinta the future wife of Tomi?.

Tomi smile. He knows, maybe this is not the right time to reunite the mother and child. "Yes already, now Rio same Farrel waiting papa in the car huh. Soon papa will be followed".

Rio and Farrel approached Sugeng and Miss Marni. They kissed the backs of his grandparents' hands and waited for his father in the car.

Reni just stared at the backs of her two children with nanar. This was the real destruction of his life. He was not recognized by his two children. Mr. Sugeng and Ms. Marni also dissolve in the pain, when the grandson does not want to admit his birth mother. But they can't do anything. It may take some time to recover all of this.

"I'm sorry for Rio and Farrel's attitude, Ren. I promise I will return to restore this situation" said Tomi, sincere.

Reni nodded while wiping away her tears. "It's okay, I deserve this kind of treatment".

Tom breathed deeply. "Ren, I want to say something".

Reni was flabbergasted, by what Tomi was about to say. "A-what's mas?".

Tomi sighed deeply then she exhaled softly. "I dropped talagh for you, and from today on you are not my wife".

For those who ask, why Tomi talk about Reni, because after Reni gave birth to Kevin, Tomi has not had time to talk about Reni, hehehe...
