Turning Point

Turning Point
THIRTEEN

Tok..

There was a sound of the door being knocked from inside the house of Ratih's mother at eight o'clock in the evening. Ratih's mother was surprised, it's not unusual at hours like this that there would be visiting guests.

Ibu Ratih headed for the living room to open the door. Lintang and her daughter-in-law were standing with a plastic bag in her hand.

"Assalamualaikum ma'am", said Lintang saying hello while kissing his mother's hand. Agum also kissed the back of her in-laws

"Waalaikumussalam Lintang, son Agum!, come on please come in!", replied Ratih's mother as she invited them in

Lintang also walked Agum following Ratih's mother. Then they sat in the living room. Looking around the living room. Nothing is different than before. What looks different, now in one corner of the wall mounted a medium-sized photo frame, his wedding with Agum.

"Friska is sleeping mom?", asked Lintang

"Not Lin, it's in the room" replied his mother

"Dek, here break. Maak bawain fish for you!", cried Lintang

Friska came out of the room to see her sister. He bowed while greeting his two brothers.

"Are you asleep?", asked Lintang

"Not yet, what does this mean, why does it smell so good?", asked Friska as she pointed at the plastic bag carried by Lintang.

"Bak bring fish, moved on a plate continue to make your maem the same mother yes", replied Lintang. Friska nodded and walked into the kitchen.

"Kok tumben bring fish son, you cook fish at home?", asked Ratih's mother

"No ma'am, I just took the Lintang deck to the beach, kept cooking fish there" replied Agum

"Would it be finished refreshing anyway the story?", asked Ratih's mother with a smile

"Hehehe, just the usual roads ma'am. In part since marriage I have not had time to step on the Lintang deck of the streets" replied Agum

"Thank you son Agum, I'm sure Lintang must have taken the streets" said Ratih's mother as she glanced at her son.

They also talk in a warm atmosphere. Sometimes Ratih's mother looks at his daughter's face. The worry he felt seemed to be dashed by the happiness emanated from the two. Ratih's mother is increasingly convinced that her daughter is treated very special by her son-in-law. And it became her own happiness.

The flashback

That afternoon, a woman was busy watering plants in her yard. There are all kinds of plants there. Starting from the wave of love, sensivera (tongue in-laws), aloe vera, red shoots and also various kinds of flowers.

A pair of eyes looked at him from a direction not so far away while carving a smile on his lips.

"Hey, why are you Gum?", asked Mr. Yanto while patting Agum on the shoulder

Agum was surprised, "Sir, that's the flower again, who?", asked Agum while pointing at the woman

Mr. Yanto followed the direction of Agum's index finger

"His name is Lintang, Ratih's son. It was only a year ago that she lived with her mother. Previously he participated in his om in the city, why?", asked Mr. Yanto

"If you don't want to get married, sir?", asked Agum suddenly. The one who was spoken to was surprised

"Are you kidding me?", asked Mr. Yanto

"Yes no sir, I'm serious" replied Agum briefly

"Hey, you've only seen him once and haven't known him yet, when suddenly married immediately", protested Mr. Yanto

"Eat him, know me as well, sir. I seriously want to marry her sir", replied Agum reassuringly

Agum himself also felt confused, after seeing the woman who was watering the plant as if his heart said "he is my soul mate". He again urged that Mr. Yanto would introduce him to Lintang and convey the intention to the mother of Lintang to marry his son.

***********************

"What?, getting married?", asked Ratih's mother in surprise when Mr. Yanto and Agum came to see him.

"Yes Tih, Agum wants to marry Lintang" replied Mr. Yanto

"Therefore Agum came here to get acquainted, as well as convey his good intentions to marry your son" explained Mr. Yanto. Ratih's mother still put on a face full of confusion.

Lintang was only fixated on hearing his mother's conversation with Mr. Yanto. He was also no less surprised, suddenly there was a man who came to propose to him. From behind the gordyn he noticed the face of the man who was currently facing his mother.

"Lintang, come here!" said Ratih's mother calling her daughter. Lintang woke up from her daydream and rushed after her mother in the living room. He sat next to his mother.

"Ndhuk, meet this Agum boy, the minister is Pakdhe Yanto. He intends to propose to you ndhuk", Ratih's mother explained

Lintang and Agum view meet each other. Then they both smiled. Lintang lowered his head as his greeting of introduction to Agum.

"Where is Lin, do you want to accept Agum's proposal?", asked Mr. Yanto

The latitude breathes deeply. Trying to control his heartbeat that feels irregular. He saw the figure in front of him. Mature men who are mature but still seen the lines of good looks.

"If you may know, on what basis did you suddenly come to propose to me?", asked Lintang

Agum just smiled "Because I'm sure that the Lintang deck is my soul mate"

Latitude jerks. The answer is short, solid, clear, and can not be denied by any word.

"Give me some time to decide" replied Lintang.

***********************

One week after the arrival of Agum and Mr. Yanto, Lintang was able to make his decision. For the past week he thought hard while steadying his heart to choose the path he would take.

"What, um want to end our relationship?", asked a man who was three years older than Lintang

"I'm sorry mas, someone came to propose to me, it feels like I've been steady to accept the proposal", replied Lintang while looking down

"But why the deck, why exactly did you accept his proposal, when you also know that I also intend to propose to you?", asked the man. The latitude is still down.

"Is he more handsome than I am, is he richer than I am, or what, replied the deck do not be silent like this!", the man continued in a slightly elevated tone.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I felt more steadier to accept her proposal", Lintang replied with tears beginning to drip.

The man just took a rough breath. Trying to control himself who almost ignited anger. Seeing the woman he loved shed tears, he really did not have the heart to get angry.

"Have you thought about it?", asked the man. Latitude nodded

"We will end?", continued the man with a voice that had sounded hoarse holding back the cry. The latitude nodded back.

"Well deck, mas will accept whatever your decision is. But can you promise me one deck thing?", asked the man anyway

"What mas?", asked Lintang

The man breathed deeply. In the shade he looked into the eyes of the woman he loved

"Please promise me that you will be happy to live with the man of your choice on the deck, promise me that you will never shed tears while living life with him except happy tears, I'll let you go"

Lintang nodded "Thank you, I'm sorry for disappointing you"

Tears escaped the man's two eyes, indicating he could no longer hold tightness in his chest. That man is Hanan Al Majid. The man who used to be the older brother of Lintang class when High School and is now studying at one of the public universities in Jogja.

Ever since Lintang sat in the first grade of High School, Hanan expressed his feelings to Lintang. Dipper-welcomed Hanan welcomed by Lintang.

They are in a normal relationship. Almost the same as he was friends with other friends. Until Hanan graduated from school, their relationship remained good. And Hanan plans to propose to Lintang after he finishes his studies. But it turns out that destiny says something else. It turned out that Lintang preferred the man he had just known.
