Turning Point

FORTY

Agum and Danang were seen sitting in a row of waiting chairs for passengers who would travel using a fleet of inter-provincial buses at Giwangan terminal. While enjoying a cigarette, Danang looks so patient waiting for the arrival of the bus that will deliver it back to Surabaya.

"Mas, after this I will meet Reni" Agum said on the sidelines of his cigarette suction.

Danang frowned "what business do you want to see Reni?"

Agum breathed a rough breath "i just want to finish something that has not been solved mas"

Andang rolled his eyeballs "something?, isn't that something that's been done for a long time?"

"I just want to straighten out what I told him before" replied Agum

"Can I trust you this time, Gum?", asked Danang hesitantly

"Yes, all day long ago when I looked at Lintang's face while he was sleeping, in my heart there was a sense of guilt. Yes, I was wrong because I was disturbed by Reni's presence" replied Agum

"Then, what are you going to say to Reni?", Danang asked still curious

Agum just sniffed his shoulders. He felt that he had not yet prepared the words he was about to say to Reni. But in one side of his heart space, he must meet to complete something that once existed between him and Reni.

"Gum, careful. What you will discuss with Reni, I hope that all of that will not hurt the heart of Lintang" said Danang reminded.

"Yes, I promise" replied Agum

Danang scanned Agum's facial expression. On his face there was still a hint of doubt emanating from his face. Whether it's a doubt about his feelings or what it is, Danang still can't know for sure.

Shortly after, an inter-provincial bus to Surabaya entered and stopped at one of the rows of buses that were lined up on the left side of the terminal.

Andang moved from his seat, he carried a backpack on his back. Then set foot towards the Surabaya bus, Agum followed him from behind.

"I say goodbye to Gum, remember my messages!", Danang said as she extended her hand towards Agum.

Agum welcomed Danang's hand "iya mas, I will remember the message from the sampeyan. Careful, good luck to the destination"

Agum and Danang hugged each other as parting words. Danang got into the bus, then was busy looking for a seat where he sat according to the number on his ticket. Agum then stepped out of the terminal.

In a city park, decorated with garden lights that look dim, there Agum was sitting on one of the benches made of concrete. While igniting a cigarette, then he sucked with pleasure. His hair looked a little messy and his face also emitted doubt, whether what was disturbing his heart was also his mind.

He was busy looking at the phone in his hand. Since an hour ago, he was waiting for the arrival of someone he contacted via phone and until this moment someone was not seen showing the trunk of his nose.

"Mas?!", greet someone behind the bench occupied by Agum.

Agum turned her back, and a woman was seen wearing a skirt on her knees with a white t-shirt approaching her.

"Have you waited a long time?", asked Reni who then sat next to Agum.

"Not too long ago, only about an hour" replied Agum with a sarcastic tone.

Reni pursed her lips "ahaahaa sorry yes mas, it was right there you called, I was busy taking care of my father's shop"

"What do you need to do to meet mas?, miss me, hahaha?", asked Reni origin while being uproar.

Agum flinched, not expecting Reni to ask him a longing question. Until this moment he was still confused, what things he would convey to Reni, but in his heart felt there was something that really had to be resolved soon.

"You remember this place five years ago?", asked Agum opening the conversation

Reni nodded "I remember mas, why?, do you want to go back to repeating something that happened between us?"

Agum just turned his lips together, and looked into Reni's eyes with a difficult look to interpret "what do you mean Ren?",

Reni breathed a rough breath "i also do not understand what is happening to me mas, since hearing the news of you getting married, I even more want to repeat something that has happened between us"

Agum rolled his eyes "you know this is all wrong, Ren?, we're both married"

"I know it's wrong, but really, I've never gotten so much love from a man other than love from you" Reni replied

"You mean?", asked Agum

"I'm not happy with my marriage to Tomi mas, I'm not happy" Reni said

"But what ever happened between us is just Ren's past, and we shouldn't get stuck in it again" Agum protested

Reni just smiled cynically, her voice sounded a little hoarse and there was a circle of tears held in her eyes "I understand that mas, but I also can not lie to myself, I can not, that I still love you"

Bak heard a flash of lightning, Agum's heart was so shocked when Reni said that sentence. All the efforts he had made to try hard to kill Reni's shadow seemed to collapse instantly. He still couldn't believe that he still had those feelings for her.

Agum took a deep breath and then exhaled it. Suddenly crossed the face of Lintang who is currently pregnant with her child. And he also remembered all the words of Danang, that he should not hurt the feelings of Lintang with his attitudes that could not be firm in treating Reni.

"I can't Ren, right now there's a heart I have to take care of. Even now my wife is pregnant with my child, so there's no way I could hurt her" Agum replied. "Can you kill that feeling like I did when you chose to marry Tomi? ", Agum continued

Reni relaxed her shoulders, rubbing her already dripping tears. Agum looked at Reni's face. Long ago for Agum, Reni was someone so special that she did not want to see her shedding tears. Gently, Agum rubbed the tears flowing down Reni's cheeks.

"I know this is wrong. I should have never accepted Tomi's presence, and tried to fight for our love" Reni said.

Reni brought her body closer and leaned her head against the chest of Agum's field and her hands were coiled around Agum's waist. Instantly making Agum's chest rustle so quickly, as if re-opening the memories he had passed with Reni.

Agum's hand rubbed the back of Reni's head, trying to calm all the turmoil of the taste experienced by the woman he loved so much first. Reni raised her head, and Agum's head lowered, then......
