The Woman Behind The Scenes

The Woman Behind The Scenes
Chapter 9 - I Have to Survive

“Where's that much money from? You crazy?” Tomi snatches Dara's request, like lightning.

Dara had no other choice. There was no way he would let his mother have trouble finding that much money.

“Please, Bi. Mama needs. Anyway, the rest of my salary is still more than enough.” It's strange when the owner asks permission for something of his own. But this is not the time to keep the ego.

“How much is that? Where are your mama's brothers?”

“Mama is not that kind of person, bi. He must have been very uncomfortable asking his brothers for help. In part it is a little nominal for a one-year home rental.” Dara.

Tomi rubbed her face, and shook her head. Never mind for that much money, he often refused Dara's request to buy shoes that are nothing compared to his income.

“I already have a plan to buy a bicycle for children. Don't be impromptu like this dong!” he sounded very upset at Dara's request.

“But my mama's entitled to my salary, Bi. I've been holding them for years. This is why, I told you back then you didn't have to quit your job to come with me. I can't let my own mama be difficult,” Dara lost her patience in the negotiations this time. He would really do anything to overcome his mother's difficulties this time. Five million is not a small amount, and he knows his mother is in great trouble at the moment.

Somehow it is very difficult for Tomi to let Dara be the child who helps her own birth mother. Dara himself knows, 5 million is almost equivalent to the monthly ration that Tomi gave to Farah since they moved the country, with Dara's income that is many times greater.

“Please me. Please ...” Dara pleaded with her husband's hand.

Tomi seems a little withered. He shook his head again, and looked at his wife.

“I have to talk to Farah first. I promised you a kid's bike. Give me a few minutes to call him,” is so confusing. I don't know why the results of Dara's hard work must be controlled by this couple.

Tomi went out of the room, making a phone call. Dara could clearly hear her husband trying to calm Farah who was shrill in voice in the phone. Looks like the plan to buy a bike is very important, but a few days ago Tomi just sent her monthly rations.

Brak!

The door opened violently from the outside. Dara was waiting for a word from her husband who seemed unhappy with the conversation on the phone earlier. Now, she felt a little guilty putting her husband in a feeling of resentment.

“Ayo get ready. We'll go send this money to your mama. But remember ...” Tomi finally granted Dara's request.

“Thanks. Remember what, Bi?”

“I don't want anything like this happening again. Farah was furious because her plan was postponed,”.

‘Farah angry? The woman ... Why does he feel he has a right to my efforts here? I don't want him to enjoy my work’ Dara's inner being started to piqued with Tomi's words. But at least he can send the funds needed by his mother. Care for the devil if Farah is happy or not!

...****************...

“Mah. Already Dara sent.” There was a sense of relief when he informed his mother.

“Thank you, Son. Are you eating enough there?” any mother turns out to have similar, and sometimes exactly the same, questions.

“Iya, Mah. Mama doesn't have to worry. I'm fine here ..” not only become more silent, Dara can also now lie to her mother.

With the weather as hot as it was, the small size rice and canned meat was certainly lacking for him. But there is not much he can say to ‘tuannya’ who arrange their shopping. She must continue to follow her husband's will to save.

“Mama healthy, yes. Later if Dara's savings are enough, Dara went home ..” one more lie he threw to calm his mother's heart.

The call was so short for Dara. He was deliberately so that his mother did not ask much about his life. From now on, he should try to hide from reality, and teach himself to endure harder.

A tit! A tit!

A message came in on her phone, resuscitating Dara from her daydream.

Farah: [What do you really want? ]

‘ Yes God ... What else is this?’ he thought for a moment after reading the hardikan's message.

Dara: [What does that mean, mbak? I don't understand ... ]

Dara instantly became angry at this woman. He always tried not to be in the spotlight, even keeping his marriage with Tomi secret from some people. In almost a year of marriage, he did not even post the happy moment because he was afraid of hurting Farah. However, with this message from Farah, he immediately planted his war flag as well.

Dara: [Inciting? I never instigated Tomi, ma'am. I asked him to stay, I could go here myself. But he insisted on coming. I also know the risk of him coming here. I knew he was going to lose his job, and be away from mom and the kids. Please don't accuse me of that. ]

Losing a job [? What do you mean? Do not make up ]

Alright ... It turns out that this woman knows nothing but the nominal that she receives every month. I don't know what her husband planned, Dara doesn't care. He decided to continue all this.

Dara: [What Tomi didn't say? He's been four months unemployed, ma'am. I am the only one working here. I came here because I got a job offer, not Tomi. Where else would Tomi send it if not my salary? But I didn't try to stop him, 'cause I knew I needed it. This time I also need with my income because there is something I have to help. Please think again before accusing people! ]

He was waiting for his cell phone screen. All the truth he told the woman.

Farah: [I'll talk to my husband. I don't want to eat your money. ]

Dara is running out of energy to fight women with the prestige of Farah. The day felt so exhausting for him, and continuing to fight this woman through short message chats, would only reduce his sleep time.

“From! Dara!” tomi shouted from the living room calling his wife like a fire was going on.

Dara woke up from her sleep and rushed over. In a sense, he already knew what was coming, but tried to calm down in the face of whatever it was.

“What's up, Bi?” Dara seemed to not know what made her husband so loudly calling her.

“Why did you tell Farah about me being unemployed? You know what the consequences are?” as expected, that's the problem.

“He keeps mojokin me, Bi. I should what? Until when should I keep quiet with her accusations that I instigated you to come here, and I manage your finances. You yourself know, it's the opposite ..” as much as possible he defended himself so as not to be blamed unilaterally by Tomi.

Tomi massaged his forehead for a moment. This seemed like a big deal to him that he was so concerned about the chatter of his two wives.

“I'll find a job. Until later I have a job, stop chatting or even reply to Farah's message. Please don't add to the burden. You've got me here, and he lost me there ..” Tomi is not on Dara's side.

Whahuh? Losing Tomi? While all this time, it was Dara who felt the loss of Tomi figure. He is no longer the Tomi known before the formation of this household. Everything has become more ridiculous since they moved to the Philippines ... Tomi prefers to spend time on the phone with Farah, joking with her sons and daughters, and sometimes going out to spend two beers or Whiskey.

“I also feel like living alone here, Bi ... You can all go back there with him, rather than let me be mute, and you're busy calling him when I get home from work ...” tears drenched Dara's face as she said those words.

“I called him because that's all I can ..” Tom answered briefly.

Dara clenched her hands. This man had turned away from his own nonsense, and his behavior made Dara's heart burn with jealousy.

“You remember what you said? You have no feelings for him. Why is it reversed now? I'm tired of going to work, and coming home just to hear you're friendly with Farah on the phone?” all Dara's annoyance he just sprayed, without thinking what would be done by Tomi.

“Dar. You ask too much. I've followed your will to send your mama's funds. What else is this? I've come with you here, I'm leaving Farah!” unbelievable, Tomi still brings something done by Dara as appropriate child to his mother.

“Cute me? I never asked you to come here. I told you to be there. You insist on coming with me here. Why is it as if I owe you?” dara's anger still wildly gushed in her sentence.

Tomi seems to have exhausted her patience to reply to Dara. He went into his room and opened his closet. Dara noticed what her husband was going to do. In her hand she held her wedding book.

“This ... I could've ended this at any time. Don't think I don't dare!” Tomi threatened while showing her the marriage book that was in her hand.

“You want to be like your mama? Didn't he? Why is it so hard to give up, Dara? I am your husband!” he added.

“Then I should be silent underestimated Farah? I'm not a woman like her. Why could he accuse me of arranging your money? That's my money. That's my right. You can convey it like that to him, Bi.” Dara answered with her argument. He did not want to if he had to continue to be cornered by Farah.

“Then should I stay here? Would you rather be like your mom?”

Dara stunned for a moment ... The greatest trauma to date is remembering his childhood with his mother who painstakingly raised him with conditions that approached poor destitute. It is true said the expert ... A woman who is big without a father, will be more likely to be afraid of losing a male figure in her life. Accurate! That is how Dara feels. So far, he still wants to maintain his contentious marriage.

Relented? Alright ... Again he decided to give in to the debate, and again the woman slept with a wounded heart.
