The Woman Behind The Scenes

The Woman Behind The Scenes
Chapter 45 - Thank You Ummi!

Unexpectedly, the virus that spread was so fast. Just a few weeks ago, the first sufferer who just returned from abroad was infected, now the spread is rapid up to Bandung. Dara and Tomi's office has completely banned employees from going to the office. Everyone works at home for security. The government has also appealed that public facilities will be closed if there is an increase in patients.

This new virus is no joke. In a matter of days, thousands of people died beyond help. Even more horrified, their funerals should be separated from other public funerals. Health workers now look more like astronauts wearing full white clothing from top to bottom, complete with gloves and glasses, preventing them from contracting.

Dara began to worry, because her children still several times go to daycare, but that day, Ummi daycare owners decided to comfort their foster children. When, of course, all parents who work full-time like Dara and Tomi hope they can return to leave the children.

“So what says ummi? You're not in trouble, are you?” tomi said on the sidelines they were working together that afternoon, and Dara while feeding Kio after replying to an incoming email.

“You how else ... must be lived. Ummi hasn't said anything,”

“Hmmm pity also finally a lot of nagging caregivers later ... I want to ask your opinion. If you bother, how about a nagging babysitter we hire in person?” Tom gave me an idea. Dara's face changed her expression. It has been a month since their debate on the death of Fani's son, and she became more rigid to her husband.

“You mean, Fani? Frankly ajalah ..” Dara's cold tone makes Tomi choke on the coffee he is shaving.

“I can take good care of my children. You don't have to bother if you just want to make me high blood with this chat.” Once Dara connected.

Tomi seemed to have his mouth gagged, and no longer answered his wife's questions. He certainly did not expect, such a woman read the minds of men.

Drrrt! Dara's phone vibrated from a WhatsApp group notification. Message in children's daycare group:

[Father, dear Mother. It did not feel the spread of the coronavirus began to expand, and there have been many casualties. Every life is precious, and whatever we have to think about to prevent transmission of this virus. With a heavy heart, from today we decided to stop activities in Rainbow Daycare until an indefinite time. Thank you for understanding, and the support of all parents for us to this day. Dear children, may we all be healthy and meet again soon. ]

Dara's heart was filled with reading the message. He felt sorry to know that the daycare would be closed for a while, and the caregivers would lose their jobs. It was a disaster this time with a heavy impact.

“Ummi has sent a message .. daycare officially closed.” he told Tomi. Tom looked at his wife.

“Say once ... But how else. In addition there are advantages, we do not pay the cost of children's SPP. What about Kio's school? her PAUD?”

“Everything will pass online, there are already many cities like that ..” short solid explained Dara answered her husband.

Dara tidied up Kio's dinner plate, and asked the toddler to go play, “Kio is great! I'm done eating. Now play first, yeah. Mama wants to work again.”

The boy with his panda nodded and went busy with his toys. While Dara went to wash the dishes used to eat her son. Before he reached the kitchen, he looked at Kayla who was fast asleep.

Dara was very lucky to have a baby like Kayla, because the child was so calm, and very rarely cried unless she was hungry. The job becomes easier. Tomi didn't help him much. As usual, the man was more busy with his base-chat sessions in the group, and Dara did not want to comment much since the last fight.

The crane! Dara's phone rang because of an incoming call. Dara answered.

“Mama Kio's. Have you read my message?” ummi's voice from across.

“Ummi ... Yes, I have read. Too bad, Um. But for the common good.”

Dara pensively momentarily ...

“All of you, Um?”

“Yes, meet with Fani. Kio's father said, Fani wanted to be hired specifically to take care of Kayla and Kio. Sorry Mama Kio, if for that matter later it will not be Ummi's responsibility anymore. May mama understand ..”

Dara's heart was pumping blood even faster, and her throat was eager to yell at her husband who was planning something without her knowledge.

“Yes, I get it, Um. Ummi is healthy for the family. Just let me know if daycare is open again ... Thank you Ummi for the phone,”

“Sama-sama mama Kio ..”

Tut tut tut! The conversation is over. Dara doesn't want to be rash. He finished his dishwasher immediately. After that, she went into her room looking for her husband's wallet which turned out to be kept on the nightstand.

Dara opened the wallet, took her ATM card which was always with her husband. He sat back in front of his laptop. Tomi looks smiling in front of the phone screen.

“Tadi ummi phone ..”

“Then?” ask Tomi briefly.

“When did you go there? There are children's items must be taken .. Also, you will have to meet with Fani. So when was the first day he started?”

Tomi's face changed hearing what his wife had just said. He kept the phone, half chuckling Dara's hand.

“Sayang. You're jealous, right?” he said with a big smile. But this time Dara did not change her face at all. Feelings of annoyance, fatigue, bored with the behavior of her husband, strove into one.

“So .. I have no intention of inviting him to work here ... just lighten your load ... After all, later the dues can be lower, you can pay more lightly.”

Dara chuckled cynically, and pulled her hand from her husband's grasp.

“I? I paid? Why should I pay for something from your idea? If you have an idea, please turn on your own idea ..” replied and then looked back at his laptop.

“Good. If so, you will take care of two children at home ..” Tomi said and smiled.

Dara succeeded. He knew that her husband would not be out of expenses if not from his wife's salary. The monthly money he sent to Farah was so big that he must have had a hard time organizing it.

“Sialang. He thinks I'm stupid!” mumbled Dara in his heart. Her husband certainly had the choice of recruiting other caregivers, but instead wanted to choose Fani to stay with them.
