Strong aroma of spices, can be smelled in the apartment. The rendang that was boiling its spices, was very striking inside the cauldron on the induction stove. People say, this is the cravings phase. This second pregnancy is not easy for Dara, unlike when she was pregnant with Kio. The baby this time is so special, because besides he was put God into the womb when Dara took a pregnancy-preventing pill, this time Dara the arrival of a sister-in-law who accompanied her in the apartment. The enemy becomes brother.
“Tam. Here deh, this is fitting yet yes salty,” his hand holds a spoon containing rendang sauce that is still steamy. The fragrance can directly attack Tami's nose. He held the spoon of his sister-in-law and blew it several times before tasting.
“Hmmm ..” he was at a loss for words explaining how delicious the sauce was, and just lifted his thumb.
“Wah! Am I not divided? Honey, I can try dong too, Tami time alone?” tomi protests that saw Tami being busy picking up small pieces from inside the cauldron.
Dara is very happy if people like to spend their cooking. She took out a new spoon, and put a small piece of rendang for her husband.
Just the same, Tomi was out of words to explain the delicious cuisine of his wife. A kiss landed on Dara's forehead, accompanied by her husband's comments,”enak. Isn't that right, Tam? How's my wife cooking? The more good day he.”
Dara blushed. He turned off the stove and rested for a while on the sofa, while watching Kio who was busy learning the alphabet with Cecil. As usual, in the morning hours to broad daylight, Dara felt nausea so intense. Today he gained a bit of strength to cultivate something for his little family. However, the nausea came back to hit after he finished cooking. He closed his eyes, trying to ignore his growing nausea.
A cold hand suddenly touched his shoulder with a gentle massage, and he was washed away enjoying relief from the aches on his shoulder.
“Sleep only. It's nothin. Where else is sore,” said Tomi told Dara to sleep before she managed to open her eyes.
Dara pointed her hands back, and pointed at the middle of her back. He was so lucky to get a free massage.
Before long ... she fell asleep immediately, with a muscle that seemed to be repaired by her husband's massage.
...****************...
Dara woke up with Kio's cry. The boy screamed, and his husband was heard trying to calm him down.
“Why Kio?” Dara saw the boy was trying to suck water from his drinking bottle.
“This Kio got seasoning rendang his mouth, sis. Spicy,” replied Tami while trying to give a mouthful of shaved ice on the mouth of the pounder.
Tomi looks also busy calming the child, and her face looks unhappy with what is happening before her eyes. Dara knew very well, her husband was panicking about everything that happened to Kio. After their relationship improves, Tomi becomes very attentive to her first child with Dara. Not infrequently Dara and Cecil become the target of his anger if the boy is injured. He also often took Kio for a walk if his wife was busy cooking something at home.
“Esayya, if again the same little child do not focus on mobile phones,” either Tomi's speech addressed to whom.
Forehead Tami shriveled, and she said,”Loh really, playing wrong? Don't know if Kio can get there!”
“It is wrong for people to play mobile phones? Live in what era are you?”
“You came here to find work, not even play mobile phones, and walk to and fro. You understand?” tomi's tone began to rise to her younger sister.
“You think I shut up every day? I'm also looking for a job no one's been involved yet!” clashing high notes, Tami also did not want to lose defending himself.
Tomi stood up from her chair, and she looked very furious. The atmosphere was so awkward for Dara and Cecil, even though Cecil did not understand what they were talking about, but still he knew this was a debate between brother and sister.
“You can't work if you are mediocre skills! Hence mobile phones in study use, not just for social media!” Tomi who was furious broke through the table in front of him. Dara could no longer allow this debate to last longer. She pulled her husband away and persuaded him to leave the room.
“Already, Bi... already .. do not need to be extended, after all Kio was silent,” she calmed her husband who was very angry.
“Not about Kio. I have to scold him too! When is he going to be? Feel good being the youngest?” still Tomi's anger flared violently.
Before long, I heard the door open and close. Dara went to check, and she knew Tami was going out.
Tomi and Tami don't get along. At the time, Dara thought they were the sister pair that all parents in the world expected. In fact, due to age differences, their thinking is not always the same for certain things.
Tami was a little spoiled by her mother. At the age of the same age as Dara, he had never worked at all, even though he was a scholar from a good private university in Jakarta.
“You saw him. Always wake up during the day, then go out and buy snacks. Sit down and play with your phone, watch videos on social media. When to find it?” tomi's anger is still not quenched. His desire to vent anger at his sister, was still there.
“Iya. Patience. He'll get it later, anyway. It just takes time. I've helped him propose in some places,” a good wife always calms her husband's anger, and Dara is indeed one of the group.
Dara realized, what her husband said was not just a joke because of emotions, but it was real happening in plain sight.. His sister-in-law was not able to get up in the morning, and was very active with social media. Certainly not something he can blame, because Tami has a lot of friends there. Very upside down, Dara even only has a handful of friends who are invited to exchange ideas about work.
Maybe because it was born from a very different family background, so Dara and Tami have different tenacity as well. At a young age, Dara had to work as a backbone, while Tami enjoyed her youth studying and hanging out with her friends.
“You also told him yes, Ra. The diet! Do not just snack to gain weight. Life also needs movement, sport!” Tomi still has other things she thinks about her little sister.
Dara could not answer much if her husband was angry like this. For several months, she had not seen her husband angry like this, and now her fierce side came out again because of a sister who was so difficult to direct.
