The Woman Behind The Scenes

The Woman Behind The Scenes
Chapter 8 - Being Durhaka's Son To Mother

It seems that the decision to marry Tomi was made so quickly. Many other things Dara did not think about before she agreed. Including ... Will it continue to be the backbone.

His mother had already cut off communication with Dara. Deep disappointment from a mother who hopes her child will return to the way it was. Although religion is a right of all, it is undeniable that many parents expect their children to remain in the same faith as them.

Dara continues to play her role ... He continued to support his finances in his mother's home. He felt that was the most important thing in his life.

From the first day after her wedding, Dara is tied to Tomi. With some of his experiences getting married, Tomi easily controls his new wife.

Dara opened her wallet, busy looking for something inside. He began to dance looking for something to remove the entire contents of the bag.

Tomi came out of the bathroom with wet hair and well-worn clothes. On the second day of her marriage, she will leave Dara alone. Without thinking about anything, or even thinking about Dara, he decided to go visit Farah and her children.

When he declares the impromptu plan, Dara becomes lost to half sanity. How could her husband just go to another woman, without enjoying their time?

He can't do much. A few hours after their conversation, he spent time on the balcony of his workplace and stared at the sky with a blank look. If this thing he tells other women out there, they can instantly feel the bitterness. But there was little he could do; this decision was his own, though he did not think much.

“You saw my ATM?” Dara asked her husband while continuing to search around the room.

Tomi replied casually while tidying up her backpack, “There's in my wallet. Yesterday you asked me to withdraw cash, didn't you?”

“Ah. Ja. Right. Just stay here, before you forget.” Said Dara while thrusting her hand.

Tomi quits her activity and pulls out an ATM card from her wallet.

“I only left a few hundred thousand in your card. Your other money I've moved to my account. It is better if finances are arranged husband. Didn't you?” this time Tomi's invasion has penetrated Dara's personal finances. The young woman did not really understand who should govern what, in a household. She could not immediately say the words of her husband earlier.

“But a few hundred thousand of it won't be enough. I have to send my mom and my sister. This is the date,” said Dara asserted.

Tomi turned to face Dara while folding her hands. The two of them looked at each other with quite a cold expression.

“Finance is better regulated head of family. Didn't they? I'm not forbidding you from sending your mama. But as husband and wife, we also have needs. You can no longer set the same ration. Please position yourself,” Tomi told the backbone.

“T ... But it can't be like that ... Mama has no one else but me,” for the first time after her two-day wedding, Dara denied her husband.

Tomi approached his wife and held her shoulders. Dara hoped that her husband could understand what was in her head. This is not fair to her mother and sister.

“Currently ... My decision about that is no. Doesn't your mother not care about you anymore? Just send me everything I left there.” He lightly rejected Dara's objection, then left the room to the taxi that had been waiting for him. Dara didn't even get to say goodbye.

The man looked so cheerful and hurriedly left. He said that he did not like Farah, but this nature is very different.

Dara holds her ATM card. She did not expect the impact of her marriage to come this far. Tears began to bathe her eyes, and between sadness and confusion, she cried while sitting on her knees.

Many things appeared in his head. He does not know whether the finances must be regulated by the husband, and whether this is the right thing. But he felt, he became disobedient for a moment to his mother, and did not keep his intention to work for his sister.

That's a start ... Dara has been taken over by the man she chose.

...****************...

During Tomi's visit, Dara tried to contact her husband. Not many of his calls were answered by Tomi. In three other calls, Farah answered. Dara could hear Tomi laughing with her children. He also saw some photos Farah posted on her social media. They were seen leaving for the night in a suite room. Farah's profile photo was changed with his photo with Tomi, sticking cheeks together, in front of a beach.

Dara was immediately burned to the ground by her jealousy. He knew this would happen, but never imagined his pain would be burned in this way.

Dara was waiting in her room. He was half pensive. Wishing this was all just a dream, and he would wake up.

Geck! Geck!

The door of his rented house was knocked. Dara rushed off to open the door. Tom smiled at the door. He came home with a bag full of dirty clothes. I don't know why, Dara didn't want to wash all that. He just left the bag and will be taken to the laundry later.

Tomi lay in bed. He looks so tired. Since he arrived, he did not even say hello to Dara.

“I want the rest of my money you moved. I had to add a shipment to the house,” she opened the conversation to her husband who was closing his eyes.

Tom sat down, and opened his eyes. He looked at his wife who was standing in front of the closet.

“Is it that bad?” he relaxed to Dara.

“That way? What do you mean?” Dara began to dislike her husband's words.

Tomi took a breath and exhaled like an uninterested person continuing the conversation.

“Iya. I mean, is that as bad as it is your family should get every penny from you?”

It was like burning again. A very sensitive thing if people dare to ask such a thing.

“That's not a bad thing It's my duty to my mother, my sister. They have been my dependents for a long time. I only have them, and they only have me. My mom doesn't have a regular job. My sister's still in school. It wasn't something severe for me,” the frustration was so obvious he described in his reply to Tomi.

Tomi stood up to his wife. He stood right in front of Dara and watched her.

“What need? We don't have kids yet. I also have no personal needs. You too.” Dara tried to restore her authority to her personal finances.

“Freely you are asking now. I used the money there. From now on, there is no term for my money. Your money, my money too!” Tomi does not easily turn away from arguments. He will continue to be in his position.

Dara for the first time felt anger that began to creep up on her head. Her tears are still stirring again.

“My mom doesn't want a vacation. It was for their eating and drinking purposes, and for my sister's school. But my money instead you take a vacation with your wife, in a luxurious room, and a walk to and fro leaving the woman you just married for two days. Are you sane?” the anger went on and pushed the words out of Dara's mouth.

Tomi frowned, lightly slapping Dara's left cheek. First blow to his wife. Dara was stunned, shocked as if struck by lightning in broad daylight.

His brain kept trying to process that brief incident. He may have gotten into the wrong hole, and will be playing in over time.

“You must learn to obey with your husband. All finances, I'm the one who set. You don't have to arrange such a thing. If not, what is it to be married?” Tomi yelled at him with anger emanating clearly on his face.

A bad start for Dara. I don't know what he's doing. All of this is inversely proportional to his expectations at the time of confirming Tomi's request to get married.

...****************...

Under control, Dara could no longer freely manage her own income. He was so subject to the marriage that bound him, and could not resist despite his desire. Ever since he became a part of that love triangle, he has very rarely sent his mother. His mother did not charge or ask, but Dara better know the conditions that might occur there.

Over time, his sister had finished school. He exchanged messages with his sister several times, and became more frequent when they moved to the Philippines.

Dara got a job offer in the Philippines with a big salary. He should be able to send his mother more, and make their lives easier. In the first four months they arrived in the country, he became the only one to bring home income. Tomi did not have a job that long, and all her bills in Indonesia were paid with Dara's salary. They must be smart to save money so that all the bills are paid off.

But that's not all ... Dara also used her income to send Farah. Without a second thought, Tomi gave a larger monthly ration than he gave when in Indonesia. Although he did not have a job, several times he called his mother and his old wife told him about his life in the Philippines. He never mentioned who worked. His family probably thought he had a job. A few months later, Dara was unable to send her mother money, because it was under Tomi's control.

This marriage ... has made him an ungodly child.

All of this continued for years. Dara couldn't buy much for herself. Tomi will give you an agreement on which things you can buy, and not. He also determined how big the shipment was, and ... never did Farah get fewer rations. Dara's mother was always a victim again. Dara couldn't do much that long.

Even after a few months they were there, Tomi rationed Dara's pocket money, even though it was her own hard work.

Confused ... However, be in control ... Dara not much power and effort ...

Farah had very rarely contacted Dara. The woman suddenly stopped contacting him for a moment. Several times he just called asking where their husband was. Exactly like his words, he would be silent if his monthly rations were complete. Of course he becomes more silent with the ascension Tomi gives.

Tomi is fairly good at ‘regulate’ finance. He will not allow production that is not important for Dara. Only, several times in broad daylight he went to buy several bottles of famous Whiskey to accompany him waiting for Dara to come home from work.

About the Whiskey bottles, Dara didn't ask much. He could see mutations from banking apps on his smartphone. To go buy those drinks, it's easier for Tomi than to find a pill to treat Dara's diarrhea, a few weeks ago.

Since the first slap, Dara did not ask much where the salary went that he had never seen intact. He only knows the nominal through the pay slip. She kept trying to be a devout wife as her husband said.

It could be that he asked for every transaction, and compensated for every expenditure of his income. But apparently, the fear of Tomi easily made him subjugated. Being able to stretch his tired back sitting all day at the office, and calves that are sore from walking home and going to the office, it feels better than having to trigger a fight with the rest of his energy.

In this life before marriage, Dara put her appearance first. All the cosmetics, fragrances, and shoes that should look neat. All of this was not important to her husband so the choice was that she should resist the urge to buy this and that, until maybe one day her husband agreed to her request, or not buy it at all.

Several times he overheard a conversation between Farah and Tomi through a cell phone. The woman was heard chuckling several times, and the conversation .. sounded so warm ...

Farah now more often posts herself going shopping with her two sisters, as well as children. He also once showed off a watch with a famous brand still in the box, with a caption that broke Dara's heart little by little.

Tomi seemed so focused on fulfilling Farah's material desires. At some point, Dara also reads an incoming message from the woman, asking for more to buy some of her wishes. Again ... There was not much she could do but be silent, and still try to follow the path her husband made.

With her mouth still clenched and not much financial intervention arranged by Tomi, Dara was able to get good treatment. Not infrequently a kiss landed on his forehead, or a cup of coffee is in between he completed the work that must be taken home.

‘Consider me, I pawned my income to treat her well, ’ she thought to herself, though she was also eager to refuse her husband to interfere in the results of his work.

Dara's phone vibrates ... He quickly walked out of his room and answered a call from a new number.

“From. How are you doing, son?” that short, he knew it was his mother's voice. Tears quickly bathed his eyes.

“Mama ... I'm fine, Mah ... Mama change phone number?” as much as possible he neutralized his trembling voice withstanding the cries.

“Health tag yes, Son. Aye ... Mom changed phone number. Dar ... Sorry mama called tonight. Something happened here, and we've been contracting the house for a few months. Mama's gonna have to extend the lease here. Sorry, Dar ... But can you ask for your help?” his mother tried not to press his daughter.

“How much, Mah?”

“Five million, Son ...” replied his mother briefly. Dara was overwhelmed with confusion. How could he get that money. His salary was of course more than that, but in order to deliver that amount, he had to ask Tomi to give him cash and it would be sent through an interstate remittance service.

“Dara ... If it's not there, it's nothing, son. Mama will find another way,” her mother like she has sniffed the condition of her son. He knew very well his son never refused if his wallet was still filled and enough.

Dara wiped away the tears that finally wet her cheeks. He kept his voice steady.

“Mama ... Dara will tell me later, yes. Tonight Dara calls.” He said, promising something that he knew would be difficult to obtain.

“Good, Son. But ... As long as you are healthy and happy, that is the most important.” Her mother's answer reminded Dara, at this time her happiness is no longer something important.
