The Woman Behind The Scenes

The Woman Behind The Scenes
Chapter 3 - His name is Bima

The pantry room looks very quiet. Yep! Very quiet, until the sound of a spoon hitting the sides of the cup was heard clearly when Dara stirred his instant coffee. It came early as usual. Inside the hotel building which has been 85% completed, and will be inaugurated in a few months, Dara became a record-keeper every day because it came the earliest.

Unlike usual, this time he looks wrapped in all-closed clothing. Grey sweater with button mode in front, make it look graceful. His face was a little paler, and his eyes were a little wistful.

He himself realized that he was not so healthy, but the stubborn still tried to break the record again.

Along sipping his coffee is still warm, Dara can feel his head slightly dizzy. His legs also became a little weak instantly, and his gaze began to be unclear. He took a safe step, kept his cup and rushed towards his study room which was right in front of the pantry.

At that instant, the tip of his fingers felt so cold, and his vision became increasingly dark. He began to stop fighting his body, and sat down while laying his head on his desk. He felt so weak this time. It could be because it has been a few days he had trouble sleeping at night.

His feet were floating, but were actually treading on the floor, and he could feel someone touching his head.

“Away? You why? Pain?” it was Bima who came to him. But unexpectedly, his body was too great to defeat Dara's desire to work. He just fell down, drooping weakly with a still blurry view.

Bima never felt this kind of panic. He immediately put his bag on the table and raised Dara's body which felt so cold. The door of the study room opened, and it turned out that the people on Dara's team had just come together. Bima is not long, and they also know what to do.

...****************...

“If sick at home. Mama told me, at home. Don't go to work. Poor office people so bothered,” even though not fully aware, Dara knew it was the voice of her mother. A distinctive hoarse voice that often nags himself because he works late at night.

He tried to open his eyes, saw the room equipment was all white, and an infusion hose that had been installed in his right hand. Unlike this morning, this time his body felt very hot.

In the midst of her unconsciousness, Dara knew who had taken her out of the office. The closest sound to him is Bima. The man may have carried him to bed in this hospital, he thought.

Dara grabbed her phone while trying not to fall out of a high hospital bed.

Kriiets! The old door opened.

“Awake up? Ma'am, sorry I was away for a while,” Bima looks happy to know Dara is awake from her sleep. He looks handsome as usual, and the typical perfume he always wears immediately stops the smell of Dara.

Bima approached a small nightstand next to Dara's head and placed some of her shopping bags there. Dara did not react to seeing her boss was busy here and there as if taking care of her sick daughter.

“Thank you sir,” is just that most appropriately spoken by Dara at the moment. He looked at his boss with a face that was still pale.

Bima approached and patted the back of Dara's hand slowly, “Don't think about work. Healthy first yes, then enter work again. This time don't be stubborn. Just what mommy said.”

It seems that since he slept, Bima has talked a lot with Dara's mother. The old woman's eyes could not lie that she liked this young man to be next to her daughter.

“I .. yes sir.” Dara slightly turned her gaze so as not to see Bima's eyes that had been fixed on him.

“Bu, I go home first, yes. Dar, rest yes, I went home first” Bima stood up and gave a short goodbye to the mother and child.

Me? He used to call himself ‘saya’ when talking to employees at work. Bima is clearly showing interest and attention to Dara.

He left the VIP room, and smiled so widely.

Dara felt something else. The man was clearly too detailed to notice. Of course, he is the ideal man Dara has dreamed of all this time. Dashing, handsome, good career, and so considerate; surely his mother would easily give the green light.

But ... Dara is not a person who dares to risk dating a fellow co-worker, even though Bima has the highest position in the Savana.

“That's a good guy, son. Mama likes you to hang out with good ones like that. Polite, and smooth talk to parents,” as expected, his mother immediately responded to Bima's presence positively.

Dara looks a little clumsy. He pulled a blanket over his body, “That's the boss, mah. It is not possible to be friends with Dara often,”

Oh my God ... Dara is very good at covering her joy. He was clearly interested in his boss.

His phone shook many times. Dara immediately raised the call.

“Remember sleep. Don't pick up the phone again, Dar. See you soon!” again, Bima reminded him.

For the next few days, he will not be able to meet Bima. Thypus is not an easy disease to cure overnight. This time he had to be a little patient in order to fully recover and meet again with his colleagues, and of course Bima.

With several times going to lunch with Bima, Dara was able to catch the conclusion quickly that he could make someone he liked. Coupled with the action to save Dara when she fell in the office, she was more attached to the mind.

...****************...

Bima is indeed a man who cannot control his feelings. Despite being in the work environment, he continued to treat Dara with special. Luckily, there was not a single woman in Savana who seemed to object to it, because if you think about it Bima could have been the idol of every woman there.

He became more often come early in the office to cross paths with Dara when the office was not so crowded. Of course Dara did the same, and did not try to limit Bima to meet in between making coffee in the morning.

Dara would never try to be a hypocrite to herself. Had Bima invited him to a dinner together, he would have answered ‘ya’ easily. So far the man looks very polite even though his joy looks so striking in Dara's eyes.

The afternoon was so hot, and it was fortunate that Dara had an office with excellent air conditioning. Dara and her team are trying to work out some things to finish their work before the hotel is inaugurated. Dara worked four days in a row overtime, as did his team.

The crane! The crane! The phone on his desk sounded.

He could hear Bima talking on the phone, and told him to go to the GM office.

‘Moreover this time?’ thought in the heart.

She pulled down her skirt a bit and tidied her hair with her fingers before walking towards Bima's office. He could see Bima had been waiting for him there. He carefully opened the glass door and closed it again and sat down in front of Bima.

“Mmm... It's not about work. Can we go out for a little night? I picked up, so ask permission to your mama,” Bima spoke in a soft voice, not as usual. Sure oes. He tried not to have his conversation heard by his secretary who was sitting right outside his door.

“Search for fresh air, maybe dinner? Both? It's not forcing, Dar. Say-“

“Jam 7's. I wait 7 o'clock yes, pak” Dara cut Bima who started trying to explain at length.

Bima smiled at the girl. He is certainly very happy because after months, he dared to take Dara out together at night.

“Please call me later, Bima only. Mmmm me, not me,” Bima trying to make Dara to be more relaxed when talking to him. With a small laugh, Dara responded to Bima's speech earlier.

That day just passed. Usually the hours at work seem so long. But this time, the time spins so fast that Bima picks up Dara at her house.

With a plain white T-shirt, and long dark blue jeans, he was waiting for Dara a few minutes in front of Dara's house. The house looked so neatly taken care of and was filled with flower pots of various types. Rima, the mother of Dara is very fond of planting. She was a single mother who was left by her husband somewhere. For a few years now, she has been raising her children alone. She is not a woman with a steady job and salary. She was banned from working when her husband was still around, and at a young age when he left, Rima was unable to find work anywhere. But her persistence led her to raise Dara and her sisters, and to buy a modest little house enough to shelter from the heat of the sun and rain.

Bima could see Dara who was wearing shoes in front of her door. As usual, the girl looked so fresh and beautiful. Even at night, it looks very charming. Dara easily attracts the attention of Bima, although she is not typical of women in general who like to follow fashion trends, or wear luxury items to support appearance.

Rima looks to deliver Dara out of the door of the house. The old woman smiled and waved to Bima who had been waiting in the car. They had to leave quickly because the complex street of the house would not fit for two cars if they passed each other.

Dara sprayed her perfume before opening the car door. Bima smiled watching him enter, and helped put on his seatbelt. They left, heading to the designated place.

“So where, Bim?” Dara tried not to sound like she was talking to her boss. Bima smiled with satisfaction, because now Dara was able to call him more casually.

“Eat? Yea? I hungry. Hehe” he rubbed his stomach for a moment gesturing. Dara nodded.

They walked down the streets of the city which was still quite crowded that night. It was very quiet in the car. Both Bima and Dara awkwardly start a conversation, but occasionally look at each other and laugh.

“You ever talk to Tomi?” bima's question made Dara a little surprised. He has been exchanging stories with Tomi lately, and has been to lunch together several times. He already knows a lot about Tomi, and is more relaxed in their style of speech.

“Pak Tomi? Ja. Couple times. What's up?” Dara hopes there is nothing strange in the aftermath of her closeness in cyberspace with Tomi.

“Eng. It's just, I want you to know from now on. Tomi is married. He has a small child. They live in another city,” this time what is said by Bima, making Dara's chest like passing a race. It's an interesting topic, and it looks like Bima knows a lot about who Tomi is.

Dara was silent for a moment. She remembers very well, Tomi said that she was a widower who had children.

“Wife? She's not a widower?” he asked to be sure.

Bima smiled small, “Tomi was the person closed about romance. Always open to other women. You understand what I mean, Dar? He's interesting, isn't he, for a guy his age? We never know if he really is a widower, or still the status of a husband.”

Dara doesn't know how to react. Tomi clearly said that she was a widower. He ignored his curiosity, and went back to talking with Bima on other topics.

Bima knew and had expected Tomi to approach Dara. Dara was definitely a very attractive plain woman for a wild man like Tomi. Had Bima not been interested in Dara, she could have let Tomi. This time he fell in love with this girl. It's not a good time to waste the opportunity to get a good-natured girl like Dara.

Bima has heard a lot about Dara. He also knows Dara's position as the backbone of his family. Dara is an actress who is good at acting because she never looks full of weight at work. She is a fun woman, and friendly to everyone.

Bima parked the car in front of a familiar cafe. It was his meeting place with Dara for the first time. The young lady smiled gently then got out of the car.

Bima's chest felt blurred with a heartbeat that was so fast. He considered whether he should hold the hand of his puja when they entered the cafe.

‘Do not now!’ he thought in his heart and followed Dara who had walked first. The cafe was playing instrumental music that was so soothing. The strong aroma of coffee can be smelled as soon as they sit in the corner seat close to the fish pond. A servant approached and recorded all their orders, then left the table again.

“Dar ... The same question. I once asked you what your plan was. Are there any other plans?” Bima really hope Dara thought about having a boyfriend, or just a close friend.

“Mmm ... Same answer, Bim ... I still want to work ... But maybe love life too. The average classmate has brought a pair. Hehe” as expected, Dara had already thought about what Bima was thinking.

“I can be taken kok.” Bima replied with a joking tone and was greeted with a light laugh from Dara.

“I know you can be taken, Bim. But our class is far away. You know what I mean, right?”

“Hmm ... I'm not too old, Dar ..” Bima pretended not to understand what Dara said.

“Not, Bim. You are the boss where I work. We can't join that easily.”

Bima looked at Dara with admiration. What Dara said was true. Other employees could have been buzzing about their relationship and linking it to work in the office. With the relationship they want, Dara could have changed status to ‘happy employees’ and not a hard worker in the eyes of other employees.

“I know. Actually, I'll be moving out of Savana soon, once the hotel is inaugurated. I have another project. Or you can join another project. If so, can we be close friends?” Bima is so hoping to make Dara a special person in his life.

These few months, he must have thought about all the risks. Bima is already at an age enough to run a serious relationship. Getting a beautiful, intelligent girl like Dara is a good thing for her. Not only that, he was also kind, and still young. It will be a combo. Girls like Dara are clearly the dream type of mother and father, so Bima is very sure to bring herself closer to Dara.

“Yes, of course. But I can't promise to be serious right now. I still have a dependant, Bim. Also I have some people I want to get to know more closely.” Dara's answer gave a sense of relief in Bima's heart. At least he did not say that he already had a boyfriend or girlfriend.

“Tomi? Are you close to Tomi?” Bima felt he often saw Dara and Tomi coming home from work together. They also greet more often when meeting at meetings. Although it was possible that a girl like Dara would think a thousand times to be a woman to Tomi, still everything she saw was disturbing.

“I'm not that close to Tomi. But we exchanged stories,” Dara smiled. He could see a curious implied on Bima's face.

“You're young, Dar. I'm sure to support you with your career goals.” I sounded serious this time. It made Dara feel a little awkward. However, he felt happy because he knew Bima liked him.

The two sit very close to each other. Like a pair that has indeed been together for a long time, they look so comfortable with each other, and mingle spending time in the corner of a cafe that is still crowded.

Bima does not have much relationship with women. He had failed several times before he could have a more serious relationship. In the cafe full of the aroma of coffee, he recounted some silly experiences when approached by women who only target the material. In addition, some other women who tried to approach him, knew very well Bima was the only boy with parents who were quite capable in the economy.

Those women were easily kicked by the destiny of Bima's life. Since the last time he was tricked by a woman dating another man behind him, Bima began to feel disbelief in metropolitan women. He fell in love with Dara. The girl is not from a big city. It comes from a small town with beaches, and stunning tourist attractions. He looks so independent, and does not even try to approach Bima in the way other women do.

Perfect ... Most importantly tonight, Bima was able to honestly state what she felt towards Dara.
