The Wasted Bride

The Wasted Bride
Sincerity

After a long time Arwaa almost forgot the bad memories of her past with a man named Aldair. Why now did the shadow of the man come back to haunt him.

Ah, naw. Not a shadow or a haunt, but indeed the memory will soon meet him.

Tonight Arwaa's eyes could not be closed at all. Although there are Naina and Grace who stay at his place. Yes, Naina will stay at Arwaa's apartment until tomorrow until Mehmet comes to pick her up after the man's business is done.

Right now everything in Arwaa's brain is just bad thoughts about the arrival of her ex-husband.

Why did that guy come here? If Mama and Hanna really want to meet, can with Attalaric, why should Aldair?!

Arwaa looked at the ceiling of her room and smiled faintly.

His last encounter with Aldair was when the man arrived at his family home with Mehmet. Their separation can also be called fine even though there was a misunderstanding, but it can still be overcome.

Although a smile remains always imprinted on Arwaa's face. No one knows how his heart is after the breakup with Aldair because the name of the man seems to be a fear for Arwaa to expect love again.

Forgiveness is easy, but forgetting is not easy. Especially to forget the person who once had a place in the heart. But always give suck, sore, and also poignant to become memories. No, not sweet memories, but bitter memories that haunt you all the time.

"Goddessa..."

"Loh Grace is up at this hour?"

"No praying?" Grace asked, sitting in the kitchen chair, yawning.

Little did the girl know of Arwaa's habit of waking up one-third of the night to pray, but her sleep was interrupted by the noise from the kitchen. He thought it was a rat, but it turned out to be Arwaa.

Arwaa herself who had intended to make a cake to calm the mind even so wake up Grace's sleep even though it was still at half 3am.

"I'm coming to the moon. I just want to make a cake" replied Arwaa smiling.

"You're not sleeping?" Grace continued to look at Arwaa's face, her eye bags were clear and Arwaa just shrugged and chuckled as she responded.

"Is it because of the news that Naina's sister had told you?" Grace asked again a little upset at Arwaa's response.

The Arwaa movement stopped. She looked at her best friend for a moment before Arwaa shook her head and threw her gentle smile which actually made Grace even more upset.

"Nobody Grace, she's just a person in my past."

Arwaa answered the whole thing while continuing to make the cake batter.

"Remember no? You once told me that the past is not a memory but a lesson. But from what I see right now, it seems like you think of your past as a memory. Bad memories actually. Am I right?"

"Just like the answer you gave me back then. That what was said was not that easy to do," Arwaa explained flatly making Grace speechless.

It seems Grace feels that she has forced Arwaa to spill up on her which actually makes Arwaa upset.

"But you have me, Naina too. Also don't forget about your God." [But you have me, as well as Naina. And do not forget your Lord.]

Now Arwaa is silent. He looked at Grace nanar. What Grace said was exactly what she said earlier when cheering the girl on.

Slowly Arwaa kept the ingredients and walked up to Grace and hugged her.

And Grace who got the sudden treatment was certainly surprised, but soon she mastered her shock and returned Arwaa's embrace while patting her friend's back slightly vibrating.

"Everything will be alright" whispered Grace.

"M..."

Arwaa realized that all she had done was escape from the past by allowing the past to continue to inhabit every night. Without thinking about how to stop it.

One thing Arwaa forgot. Single-minded.

Arwaa asked Aldair to take it off. But Arwaa herself has not been able to be sincere with what happened to her destiny. What he said at that time was just a boast to satisfy, not calm him.

Before forgiving Aldair, Arwaa should recount what the man had given him.

Because happiness is when finally able to sincerely let go, let go of the lost and sincerely accept what has been and will happen because of God.
