"The record is on you, right?" Ardi became the last person to leave after the tavern closed at night.
"Yes, I've saved it." Nania followed him to the door.
"Surely want to shop by yourself? Is that a lot?"
"It's normal, right? It's easy."
"Yes already. If you need a phone call, I'll come." said the young man wearing his helmet.
"Go first, Nna? Don't forget the doors are checked again." Then he started the engine and left immediately.
"Yes, Di." The girl nodded.
Nania retreated and almost closed the door when the black Rubicon she knew stopped right in front of the tavern. Then the driver got off and immediately approached.
"It's closed" said Nania when Daryl was in front of her.
"I don't care." replied the man who walked in and dragged the door with the back of his foot.
"Basic maksa!" Nania nodded and then retreated.
"I'm sorry!" it came back from Daryl's mouth.
Today at least four times he said that word, but his feelings never improved. Especially the last time they didn't speak properly like before.
"I'm sorry to keep." Nania muttered then took out two cans of cold drink inside the showcase, then placed them on the table.
"I'm sorry, I can't be like this. This makes me feel bad." Daryl's getting closer.
"If it's not good, love the cat." Nania opened one of the cans and gulped down the contents.
"Huh?"
"Your words this afternoon made me feel bad." repeated Daryl when he remembered what Nania was saying.
"Tumben feels bad? Don't usually care about other people's feelings?" Nania turned her words around.
"Miss?" Then the man grabbed his hand.
"Lets talk!" the door, then he came closer.
"Is this talking too?" replied Nania who tried to let go of her hand grip even though it did not work out.
Then they moved to the rooftop after Nania made sure the doors and windows were tightly locked.
"In addition to being afraid of water, what else are you afraid of?" Daryl put down his phone after sending a message to his mother.
Nania did not answer. He was remembering anything that often made him doubtful and did not dare to go far.
"So I know and avoid such things so as not to hurt you." continued Daryl tilting his head.
"It's around the pool, or that huge amount of water it's like you're taking your life to the scariest place." Nania stared at the dark night sky of Jakarta.
"It's in it like something's pulling your body slowly and hurting you in the most frightening way" she continued, and her voice rang out.
"But the scariest thing about it is the dark and narrow place."
Daryl frowned.
"I don't like dark places, so sleep lights always have to be on."
"What's going on? For darkness is nothing to me. I can sleep anywhere and under any circumstances."
Nania remembered again.
"That time .. the school toilet was deserted. Everyone's home but I can't stand it." Dozens of shadows reappeared in the memories.
"The toilet's at the end of the building, so it's dark because the lights are off."
"Someone locked the door from the outside and no one came even though I was screaming.
Daryl listened in silence.
"And no one came until morning." The girl was silent.
"I swear, it's scary." He looked towards Daryl.
"One of the scariest nights of my life. It was dark, lonely, and I was alone. It might be trivial for people, but for me .. it's scary."
"Not to mention the equally frightening aftermath. Mom didn't believe anything I said after coming home. There's only mockery and punch because all night I disappeared. I was locked up in the bathroom again. And then you know what happened." There was a clear circle that burst out from the corner of his eye that he immediately wiped.
"show? Many things make me weak and not as normal as others. What is considered ordinary, can be very scary for me. So …."
Daryl grabs the girl's hand and then links their fingers. There were too many scary words that he called and it seemed like he was not okay.
"It's not changing anything" he said.
"I want to believe it, but it's not real. This is like a story that is only in a book or in a romantic movie that all the characters end up happy forever."
"But I know that the world is not that good. There are many things that cannot end happily ever after. Like me." For example."
"Dad's divorce with mom was painful because I lost one of the figures I needed. But their togetherness is no better. The many fights and violence that ensued left me confused as to how to deal with the real world."
"I don't know where I deserve to be, because I don't think everything fits me."
Daryl shook his head.
"You're just not used to it" he said.
"How about ... I don't deserve to be there? And I'm afraid that forcing myself makes things messy, so it's better …."
"No no no!! Don't say such ridiculous things. Anything can happen if we're going to work on it, and there's no such thing in my world."
"That's because you're capable, but me?"
"You will! Promise me!"
"I'm just afraid this will hurt more than anything I've ever experienced. Sometimes feelings make people weak. So it's better …."
"No!! I said no!! No way! I don't want to hear it! No!!" The man groped while covering his ears with both hands.
"Sir?"
"Just listen to me! Listen up!" Daryl jerked both hands.
"Nothing prevents me from having a relationship with anyone, from any circle and with any background if that's what you mean."
"Everyone is supportive and I don't think any of them don't appreciate what my happiness is, if that's what you're afraid of. No one's! It's all my business, even my parents support whatever I do. Can you see it?"
"That's exactly …."
"Mama likes you, and my niece what else. They can never go far if they know you're around, and that never happens to anyone. Then where's the problem? Just because you've always been mistreated by your family doesn't mean that others will do the same to you."
"Believe me, kindness you will find not only from people who have blood ties. Because love has nothing to do with it. Not at all!"
"So stop comparing your situation with the circumstances of others who you think are better. That will eventually make you feel inferior. Because what you see isn't necessarily true."
"Just focus on yourself and what we do. Focus on me!!" Daryl framed his face with an anxious feeling.
"Focus on me, Malyshka!!
"Sir, ish!!" Nania took the man's hand off his face.
"Lets make our own world, and be happy together! Because we deserve it, you deserve it." said the man, who somehow made Nania feel better.
"Dad you realize, if you were a laborer?" The girl said what was on her mind.
"Conscious, I am."
"And you don't feel that strange?"
"Why do you feel weird? I really am."
"In addition to the maksa Mr. also nyebelin."
"That's right, hahahaha." Daryl chuckles.
"So, she's proud to be called a nyebelin?"
"That's what's gonna keep you from two-faced people, Malyshka. And they will think twice if they have the intention to use you. So, if it can't be strong, then be a bitch. For both keep the hypocrite out of your life."
"Where's that idea from?"
"My grandfather." Then the man smiled.
"Sir?" Nania spoke again after being silent for a long time.
"What?"
"The midwife candidate who was beautiful yesterday." Nania remembered the meeting at the mansion last night.
"Indeed."
"No interest in it?"
"What interest?"
"The same date as the prospective midwife?"
"No."
"Why? It's good, the owner of the famous magazine's girlfriend's midwife."
Daryl was silent for a moment while fiddling with his phone.
"No."
"Why?"
"Because I already have a shopkeeper" the man replied without turning his eyes away from the flaming cell phone.
"What good is a shopkeeper? Not cool. I don't have a title."
"What you say?" Daryl.
"The shopkeeper is not cool. Just serving people who buy food, keep running out of it …."
Daryl put his phone on the side then leaned his body towards Nania. With one of his hands grabbing the girl's waist to then pull her up until the slight distance between them disappeared.
"You're so chatty. Wanna piss me off, huh?" Their faces were only five inches away.
"Mh …."
"A midwife or a waitress makes no difference to me. The thing is, my heart chooses a shitty shopkeeper like you! So what am I supposed to do with my heart?" She clenched her arms around Nania's waist.
"You still don't trust me, do you?" Then he asked. "You don't think I mean it?"
"Then it's the case, how about we get married?"
"What?" Nania widened her eyes.
"If just dating can't make you believe me, then we'll get married!"
"No way!"
"That's possible. I'll talk to my parents about it after Darren's wedding."
"Where can it be?"
"Can. I'm a forger, like you said."
"But that's not it, sir."
"Why? Because we're just dating? I don't think I care about that."
"But …."
Then the man landed a kiss on Nania's lips and frowned for a while.
"Sleep there! Don't you go to the market tomorrow?" Then he took it off suddenly, as Nania began to get used to it.
His breathing roared rapidly and their bodies heated up.
"I'll sleep here, so I can take you tomorrow. And you don't have to call someone else to accompany you!"
"There! Or want to accompany me to sleep here?" he said he was back to pull the girl's body close to him.
"Umm...no!!" But Nania immediately distanced herself.
He got up and moved away quickly. While Daryl tried to calm himself down and something woke up afterwards.
"Ah, fuck!!" He then dropped his body on the floor of the gazebo which was covered with a mattress.
