Nania walked into the house so that no one would know of her arrival that night.
Intentionally, because he didn't want to interact with anyone. Especially knowing they're all there.
"Nenice?" Mirna called.
The girl stopped right in front of her grandmother's tightly closed door.
"Why are you sneaking around like that? Like thieves!" The mother is holding her.
Nania twisting body.
"Just avoid the commotion, ma'am." He answers. "I don't want to get slapped and punched again."
"It's good that you understand." Hendrik passed in front of them.
Nania just glanced over without much words.
Mirna looked at him from the bottom up. I don't know why he always felt upset with his son. All this time he never made any problems. But his feelings are not like those of a parent in general.
She only remembers in the moments after her divorce with Arsyad, Nania always cried incessantly. Who every day asked for his father's whereabouts, and whatever he did was always wanted with the man.
No matter how hard she explained if they had separated, or explained the situation that had to be lived after, Nania kept crying. It might be a trivial thing for others, but it was so heavy for him.
Until after months and they should have gotten used to it. But the girl could not forget her father. Mirna gives up and chooses to find Arsyad and give Nania to him.
Then there was a knock on the door that distracted them. Hendrik went to check, then a commotion ensued. I don't know what they are fighting about, but Nania chooses to go to her grandmother's room.
The woman appeared to have fallen asleep curled up in the corner with her back against the wall. Her frail body was so visible in such a state, and Nania felt unbearable.
Grandma must have been in a lot of trouble all along. Can't do anything, and she has to follow everything you say.Â
Patience, Grandma, Nia tried again. Inner monologues.
Then he cleaned up quickly and came back after a few minutes. Feeling his stomach rumbling because he had forgotten to eat at the store before returning home.
Usually Nania, as well as her friends eat together after the store closes and go home in a full stomach. Or at least bring their rations if they do not have time to eat in the store. But that day he was so excited because he knew soon he would be able to free himself from his mother, even though it had to make him run away first.
Because it feels like Nania can't if she has to continue living with them while she becomes a shield for everything. Shouldn't it be like that? Shouldn't the family try to be together without being differentiated? Then why also himself who must bear the lives of those who should still be able to try?
He was stunned near the dining table and found nothing to eat other than one container of cold rice. This morning, she gave her grandmother money to buy food.
Ah, Nania forgot that the others might have finished her meal so that what grandma made was not left. This time he had to change his ways and habits.
But her stomach was so hungry, and tonight it was certain she would not be able to sleep in such a state. So Nania decided to take the plate and fill it with one rice pitcher.
Then she searched for something in the cupboard and the condiment basket, hoping to find something to mix with the cold rice she was about to eat. And the girl found only one small packet of seasoning broth that stayed half of it. Apparently Mirna really did not think about their situation at home.
Nania decided to sprinkle some cold rice with the seasoning, then water it with a little hot water that she boiled. Then he quickly returned to the room.
"Have you gone home, Nna?" Grandma woke up hearing a voice nearby.
"Yes Nek." Nania was devouring rice with broth that she made herself.
"You eating?" Grandma stared at the plate in the girl's hand.
"Yes, laper. I forgot to eat before I went home." He ate with food.
"With what?"
"Nasi. Nia forgot to bring food, but Ardi cooked a lot, there's leftovers."
Grandma looked at him with a heart of pain. How could he be that calm eating rice alone that looks mixed with water. This grandson must have suffered a lot.
"Why not wake Grandma?" The old woman got out of bed.
He walked up to the small sideboard at the end and picked up something there. One container contained three pieces of chicken that he hid among the pile of clothes.
"Luckily Grandma separated, this afternoon they ate it without remembering anyone. Though it seems your mother still holds the money."
Nania grunts quietly.
"I was full" he said later.
"But this?" Grandma lifted the container in front of her.
"Make Grandma alone, to eat tomorrow." Nania closed the container again.
Grandma speechless.
"Save it again, Grandma. Don't let me know, or I'll take it." she said, then laughed.
***
"Miss?"
"Yes?"
"When Nia goes it's okay?" They almost fell asleep when Nania decided to speak.
"Go?"
The girl nodded.
"Where to go?"
"Get out of this house."
"You want to run away?"
Nania laughs.
"Yes, but deket's escape."
"Where's the blur?"
"What matters is getting out of here."
Grandma speechless.
"Could you?"
"Could, Brother Ara has given permission."
"Is that so?"
"I was going to bring Grandma, but it's not good that we just live there. The plan after payday next month I want to spend, then I invite Grandma here." Nania looked at her grandmother.
"You want to take Grandma?"
"Yes dong, who else do I want to bring? Will Grandma come if I pick it up? Now be patient."
Grandma smile.
"It's okay if my grandmother stays here for a while? I'll be able to rent a room."
"It's okay."
"Don't worry, every day I'll drop off food or money for Grandma if she doesn't exist anymore."
"No, Grandma's used to it."
"Regularly not eating? I'm not anyway. I don't eat my body like it's lemes."
My grandmother laughed.
"Even if you do not have money, you always prepare food at home, as if there is rice or fried tempeh. Dad's money was mediocre but never let me starve at night. Even though I was sick I always ate when I came home from work. You know, all my paychecks are up for treatment."
Grandma rubbed her head.
"Good son, filial son. God knows what you're doing, it's not wrong to give it a try. Youcan. Don't get discouraged, huh? Later your kindness and devotion to father will be changed by God, I don't know what. The kindness to the old man is of no value."
Nania smiled.
"I can go, right? Promise me, once I can rent a room, I'll pick up Grandma." Nania with teary eyes.
He doesn't know what will happen if he leaves. It is also impossible to stay.
"It's okay, go. Grandma will wait." Grandma nodded her head.
"Mom won't be anything Grandma is that?" Bad thoughts then cross your head.
"will not. He might dare to slap you, but he wouldn't dare to hurt Grandma."
"Related?"
"Related. Most just snapping. Grandma is ordinary. Think of it as a rombeng can." They both laughed.
...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...
"There is one man, one woman. It's likely that her parents, and her house, seem normal." Daryl receives a call upon his arrival at home.
"But there was just a commotion."
"What commotion?" He immersed himself in a bathtub filled with warm water.
"Two men came to the house and they seemed to be fighting."
"What's the danger to Nania?"
"Looks not. They go after the girl gives you something."
"You sure?"
"Yes sir."
"Then?"
"none. The house is now deserted."
"You still there?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"Nania is invisible?"
"No sir."
"All right, enough for today. Maybe tomorrow you can continue the reconnaissance. I suspect something's going on."
"Good Sir."
Then the call ended.
"Sure sister, Nania just told me that she fell on the stairs when she cleaned up the house." He read a message from Amara.
"The others answered the same."
"His house is just that big how did he fall?" Then Daryl stared at the picture sent by his man.
A small two-story house in a densely populated area on the outskirts of Jakarta.
"What secrets do you keep Malyshka? Did something happen to you?" his murmur that rubbed the phone screen when in the next photo Nania figure appeared.
