~ Flashback On ~
"Grusha?" Daryl waved his hand at a red-haired girl who looked dizzy.
Then he ran through the crowd of people who started to fill Red Square. It was the first day of the winter festival which was always celebrated ahead of the holidays.
"You been a long time?" The smile on Grusha's lips when the young man he knew when he entered college approached.
"Lumayan. It just hasn't made me freeze here." Both giggle.
"Sorry, make you wait. I have to help my father arrange some things." The girl handed Daryl a small paper bag.
"What's this?"
"Cactus of our garden. I hope to brighten your heart when you're feeling tired while studying."
The desert plants are found in a mini pot with a size that is quite small. But it looks funny with colorful gravel decoration on it.
"That's great, Grusha. So your parents' efforts?" They walked together to enjoy the night of the festival.
"Yes. It's kind of a hereditary venture until we have our own planting place." The girl told me.
"Well done, Grusha. That must be a good effort."
"Yes, you're right."
"But how can such a plant grow in a place as cold as Moscow?"
"That's easy. It is an ornamental plant whose way of life can be modified. So anywhere can."
"Wow, amazing."
"Yes." Yeah."
They walked along the Red Square and kept talking about many things. Occasionally stop to buy hot drinks from an outlet and eat together at a famous cafe around the place.
Both are quite familiar because they both live early on campus.
"Where's your brother? You're usually not separated?" Grusha sipped his drink after their dinner ran out.
"Once upon a time going alone is okay, right?" Daryl did the same.
"Yes, indeed. It's just a little weird, 'cause usually Darren's always there wherever you are." The girl laughed.
"Yeah, maybe we should start reducing that."
Then the attention of the two was diverted when the frenetic music in the middle of Red Square began to echo.
"Has the concert started?" Grusha turned towards the field.
"I think so."Β
"Then why don't we go there? Seems exciting?" said the girl.
"All right, come?" Then they moved from that place.
Music continues to echo throughout the area. Some bands and singers who are quite famous in Russia fill the event until it takes place lively in a few hours. Making the first day of the festival the most fun.
"Oh, I forgot to check out the shops around here." Grusha suddenly remembered something.
"What?"
"I have to go. There's something I need to check." The girl screamed near Daryl's earΒ
"You're going?"
"Yes. Excuse me. Thanks for tonight, Daryl?" he said, then he tried to get out of the crowd that crowded Red Square.
"Grusha, wait!!" But Daryl immediately chased after him.
"It's not over yet, Daryl."
"I know."
"Then why are you following me?"
"I don't know where to go, I don't have any more shows after this."
"So you're gonna follow me?"
"Looks like. What can?"
Grusha chuckles.
"All right, but we're just gonna go check out my little shop, okay?" the girl said, and Daryl nodded.
They arrived in front of a shop that was not too big. Contains a variety of ornamental plants, among which are several types of cacti in different forms.
"It's just a small shop." Grusha turned on the main light.
Daryl looked around the place. There are not many friends he knows closely because he does not like to hang out too much. But this girl is an exception.
He was fun and nice to talk to so he felt at home for a long time with him.Β
"Your family must've been a long time in this endeavor?" He started talking.
"For long enough to build a fairly stable business. And able to support us as a family." replied Grusha.
"That's great."
"Yes, and this is my grandfather's first shop. They used to live here because they didn't have a home. See?" Grusha pointed out a hidden room on the other side.
Daryl smiled.
"Parent struggles are always the hardest, right?" sama later.
"so. And the one who reaps the results is us."
"True."
"In the meantime, I need to check a few things out. You can sit anywhere you want." The girl turned to her original intention.
Daryl noticed, the longer the girl looked more beautiful. Especially when he took off his coat even though the weather was quite cold outside, but the heater in this room is indeed at a sufficient temperature.
A beautiful story, right? After deciding not to first get involved in personal affairs with the opposite sex because they want to focus on education, but someone caught his attention on campus.
At first Daryl remained in denial, but the charm of the girl who was quite striking in their class did make him unable to turn away.Β
Not only the look is beautiful and friendly attitude to everyone, but his intelligence in terms of academics is also a plus. And it's obviously very good.
"You want me to make you a drink?" The question is to break Daryl's daydream.
"Eee .. no need. You still a long time?" The man asked back.
"Just take notes for supplies. Tomorrow the festival will continue and usually sales will increase. People love to buy souvenirs." He's sitting where Daryl is. While the man continued to notice her within this close distance.
"I like you." said Daryl suddenly, which stunned Grusha.
"I like you, Grusha." repeated, which this time made the girl turn her head.
"I've liked you since I first met and β¦."
Grusha looked at his face fixedly.
"I just like you."
The girl smiled.
Grusha nodded without much ado.
"Really?" Something like exploding inside his chest and it felt good.
They looked at each other for a while and something happened soon after, until everything went on for so long. Change days, weeks and last a few months.
~Flashback Off ~
Daryl blinked when he felt something warm touch his face. And Nania's face immediately dominated the view as she opened her eyes.
"You didn't sleep all night, you know? The story's gonna help me clean up this house, but sleep instead?" Nania sat on the edge of the sofa where her husband lay.
He had just cleaned up half of the playhouse that they would have restored to be a place to live.
"I'm tired, honey."
"After what? I've been dropping these jars."
Daryl laughs.
"Let's go Daddy, help me clean up." Nani pulled him to get up.
"Then what's the point of this house having a lot of employees if this is the case that we have to do?" Daryl had to move.
"Those who lift up, we who move."
"Goddess β¦."
"For so many things here, when do we want to do?" said the man who took down some toy boxes from the shelves.
"Slightly let us have activities." Nania answered.
"I want to take a day off because it's my usual day at work, you know?"
"Please go down first everything, tomorrow I can do it myself if everything is already below. I'm short so it's hard to reach up high."
Daryl laughed again while smashing the top of Nania's head that was already sitting on the floor.
"Is this all your toys?" Then he saw several boxes containing colorful toys.
"Maybe. Some of it's broken." Daryl stared at some of the boxes he had already dropped off.
"If it's broken why not throw it away?"
"My memory, Mama forbid anyone to interfere with this stuff. He said a lot of mementos."
"Duh? What if I want to finish? Is it broken?" Nania checked a few things.
"Just tell Mama, I'm sure for you she has an exception."
"Times?"
"Yes. Besides his granddaughter, now you're his favorite son."
Nania laughs. "You're there."
"Well, did your mother follow your will?"
"This is new, right?"
"Seriously. How long ago did anyone dare to touch the items here to be moved? Mama must've nagged if anyone did that."
"Please move to the terrace? I want to pick a good one first. Who knows it's still there." Nania told some of the employees who showed up.
They lifted the box one by one, moving it from the playhouse to the back porch of his master's residence.
"Why chosen? If your mom allows you to just throw it away?" Daryl asked.
"Who knows there is still a good and can be used. Maybe it can be used for someone else?"
"Those toys?"
"Yes. Sometimes what we think is useless can be very valuable to others."
"But it's just old stuff?"
"Used goods are also useful."
Daryl looked at him.
"What?" Nania stared back.
"My decision was right to choose life with you." The man immediately embraced her tightly.
"Ish, Om Der same Aunt Nna dating continues?" The voice of the child interrupted their interaction.
Daryl turned his head and he found his two little nieces who had just arrived that afternoon.
"Hugs only?" Anya and Zenya walked into the room.
"What are you guys doing here? Not to Bandung, right?" Daryl reacts.
"Dong's coming home, tomorrow's school." Anya answered.
"Why did he come back here?"
"Like me, this is my Oma's house" the boy replied.
"Geez!"
"Tante, the main house wants to be machined because it wants to make a house?" Zenya approached Nania.
"Yes. It's okay, right?" The woman answered.
"Nothing, later I will often nginep here" said Zenya innocently.
"Did? What the fuck? Not yet built, have a plan to stay? It's delicious!"
"Yes this morning." the nephew replied.
"If you want to stay at Oma's house, don't stay here!"
"Om Der cocky! Just wanted a house but it was forbidden!" Anya.
"You guys are? β¦."
"Sst! Must have fought if I met you?" But Nania stopped the debate.
"So they immediately have a plan to stay overnight so we know we want to wake up?"Β
"Why is this why? His name is also a child. Why do you always have to fight?"
"I'm not fighting."
"Udah, let's go down again the goods let the spittle be moved!" nania said when the employees returned to lift the goods.
"Come, you guys help out too. Don't just want to stay!!" daryl said to his two nephews, which of course makes them happy because they are involved in adult activities.
