Chapters 12. The World of Work Part 2

Vio started to squirm. The woman moved her heavy head to the right. Jason was sleeping face down, clutching his fingers.

A faint smile now adorned Vio's lips. Somehow seeing the little cares of Jason warmed his heart. His parents were always busy with business.

Vio rarely gets more attention than a child in general. Being born and growing up in a wealthy family, does not guarantee one's life will be happy. That's how he's been feeling all along.

"Thank you" Vio said inwardly as he moved his arm intending to wipe Jason's hair.

However, when his fingers stayed a little more touching Jason's head, the man woke up. Jason rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times to restore the focus of his gaze. After his gaze was no longer blurred, Jason immediately brought the face closer to Vio.

"You're awake? Want to eat, drink, or want something else? Do you need anything?" lick Jason panicked.

"I'm fine, Jason. I'm just sleepy. I think my eyes are heavy." Vio smiled gently at Jason.

"Then go to sleep again. I'll stay here. If you need anything, wake me up."

"Hm, you're sleeping again, too" said Vio.

"You go to sleep first. Once you're asleep, I'll sleep soon too." Jason rattles the origin of Vio's hair.

The woman felt a strange vibe running through her heart when she got a touch from Jason. He felt there was something else. Every touch that Jason creates can make Vio's heart feel safe and peaceful.

Slowly Vio closed his eyes. I don't know why his sleepiness suddenly disappeared after seeing Jason. He wanted to keep his eyes open so that he could keep staring at the man's face.

Not until five minutes, suddenly a soft snoring sounded. Vio slowly opened his eyes. Jason went back to sleep. However, now he leaned his back on the chair with his head lowered.

"It must be very tired to take care of this weak me. Sorry, yes, Jason. I promise after this I'll be a strong woman to be able to stand alone and live my life without your help." Vio continued to look at Jason without even blinking.

The next day, after Matheo had a re-examination, Vio was allowed to go home. Vio who actually does not like the atmosphere of the hospital, of course feels very happy.

"Remember, don't forget to eat a lot. Because you are pregnant, try to increase the portion to double. Fulfill its nutritional intake. The clock shows at 13:30 when Vio gets to the cafe. Monica, Elga, and another person whose name is not yet known by Vio are busy serving customers. Vio rushed absent, and intended to help them. The clock went so fast that finally the first sif break began.

"I'll take a break, okay, Vio? Thank you for the help," said Vio's working partner who turned out to be named Angel.

"Yes, Angel. Happy eating!" exclaim Vio with his big smile.

After all the morning sif employees walked into the break room, Vio resumed his work. In the middle of work hours, hunger suddenly strikes the woman. Vio's gaze started to blur, his body was sweating coldly, and the woman's lips looked pale.

Evan approached Vio then gave him some biscuits placed in a paper bag. Vio turned his head towards the man with the shoulder-length hair tied up.

Vio stared at the paper bag and Evan alternately. Heart warms. Outside the house there are many people who care about him.

Vio slowly put the cookie into his mouth. The woman chews it slowly, enjoying every taste that melts on the tongue. However, just a few times the nausea attacks again.

"Gosh, shit!"

Vio hurriedly ran towards the toilet, then spilled all of his stomach contents. Fifteen minutes later, Vio returned to the cash register. Arriving there Monica was looking at him cynically, and Angel who was in front of the cash register.

The working hours passed. Now is the time to close the shop. Vio brings all the money in the drawer of the cash register into the office, while William and Evan clean up the cafe.

"Let's count today's turnover." Jason opens the turnover report that goes to the parent data, then starts typing the numbers listed on the computer screen into the calculator.

Jason reduced the total turnover with payments via debit, credit, and digital money. After that, the man reduced the results again with the amount of money that had been deposited by Angel this afternoon.

Vio was stunned when he heard the amount of money mentioned by Jason. Jason who realized Vio was silent, finally took his eyes off the calculator.

"Why?" Jason with his chin up looked at Vio who was gawking.

"That's .. u-the money is less than almost 90 dollars." Vio's shoulders slumped with fingers squeezing his pants firmly.

"What!" jason with wide eyes.

"How come, Vio!" Jason rubbed his face rough.

"I don't know either, Jason. The cash register is not the only one I hold. There's Angel too."

"So, you blame Angel?" Jason squinted.

"Bu-that's not what I mean, Jason."

"We're seeing CCTV today! Call Willy and Evan!"

Vio did not answer again. He called two of his co-workers that day. Shortly after, Willy and Evan enter the office.

Jason explained the matter to the two baristas. After the two of them understood, Jason immediately opened the CCTV footage all day. Everything looks fine, until finally it looks suspicious Vio.

Jason, Willy, and Evan stare at Vio with judgmental eyes. Vio swallowed a rough saliva. His heart was beating so fast.

"Vio, what is this!" Jason kicked the table, causing the woman to flinch.
