The OVERPROTECTIVE Man's
Chapter 72's

"FIRE."

Vale turned to look at the door of his room that was still closed. There was clearly the sound of her aunt's screams blaring all over the house. Valerie stared at the plume of smoke that started to enter through the crack of her door.

Valerie frantically stepped towards the door and opened it. "AAH." Vale screamed loudly as flames ignited into his room, right after Valerie opened the door. Vale's eyes stared at the blaze of hot flames that began to creep out the corners of his house. Valerie could not get out, she was confined to her room which also started to be engulfed in flames. What's he supposed to do?

"GRANDMOTHERS." Vale shouted loudly for worrying about the state of his Grandparents.

"MISS GET OUT!" Vale turned his head towards the balcony when he heard his Aunt's voice from outside.

Vale stepped onto the balcony and found his Aunt outside, standing under the balcony looking up at Vale.

"Auntie, How's Grandpa and Grandma?" vale asked so panicked.

"Miss quickly get off!" Slowly Vale's tears burst out soaking his cheeks.

"GRANDOM AND GRANDMA HOW, HYKS?" vale shouted frustratedly while sobbing loudly. Unknowingly her aunt also began to cry with a face of heartache, making Vale's legs instantly soften with a broken heart.

"Miss.." The shrill voice of her aunt made Valerie roar in pain while squeezing the crumpled part of her chest.

"PLEASE SAVE GRANDPA AND GRANDMA BI, HIKSS..." Vale roared for his aunt to help his grandparents now, before it was too late.

"Valerie." Valerie looked to the left, where Grandpa and Grandma came out of the house coughing.

Valerie's lips trembled violently and her cries grew even louder, but her heart breathed a sigh of relief to see Grandpa and her grandmother safe and well.

"Valerie, get down from there now!" his grandfather looked at his grandson with a worried face.

Valerie got up while nodding her Grandfather's words, though still with a teary face. Valerie pulled her snot while surrounding the room in search of a long cloth.

Valerie wiped away the tears that had started to disturb her vision. His eyes stared at his bed which was now starting to be engulfed in flames. The fire grew bigger without Valerie noticing.

Valerie unpacked the closet in a hurry, frantically fused some fabric and tied it to the balcony fence post.

"ARGH." Vale screamed in shock as the glass door of his closet began to break and his closet started to burn.

Valerie increased the speed of her hand, tied the cloth properly and firmly, then threw it down. Valerie prayed to strengthen herself before she finally ventured to get down with the makeshift rope she made.

Still in the middle, Vale's body almost plunged when the rope bond began to sag. Valerie clasped the rope tightly and stayed for a moment, while Grandma-Grandpa and her aunt squealed in shock as Valerie nearly fell.

Valerie started to slowly descend again and finally got to the bottom safely. Valerie ran towards her Grandpa and Grandma with reddened eyes and face, plus her tears were still coming down.

Valerie squandered into the two people that Valerie loved so much. Valerie cried shedding all the fear and worry that almost made Valerie despair up there.

Valerie sobbed sobbing until she had trouble breathing because her nose was blocked. Until not long, the sound of fire sirens began to sound closer.

***

Valerie stepped inside her house that looked blackened. The smell of smoke and burning is still smelled even though there is no fire.

A fireman approached Valerie. Valerie smiled at him.

"What's the cause of the fire, sir?" ask Valerie.

"The fire came from the Technical Room. It is difficult to find the origin of the cause, because the entire technical room has been burned out, there may be one of the broken tools, to finally trigger a fire. It's best to stay in the apartment for a while" said the fire department.

***Slight Information about Technical Room**. Usually in foreign homes that have a non-tropical climate or more than two seasons, this room is still there. In it is a kind of place of technical tools for home, such as water heating system, gas kettle for heating and air conditioning, vacuum cleaner machine, etc. That's kind of yeah. The photo example below*.

Valerie nodded in understanding, then the extinguisher resigned. Valerie looked back at her ruined home. Valerie went out to meet Grandparents and her Aunt who were sitting in the garden chair.

"Bi, help Valerie pack the items that are still intact. We move into the apartment while the house is repaired." Her aunt understood. Valerie threw a small smile at her Grandpa and Grandma, before finally entering back into the house.

"Valerie."

Vale turned to the source of the voice and found Melanie running towards him with a worried face.

Melanie hugged Valerie tightly after seeing her best friend was fine. "Thank God you're okay" Melanie said.

Valerie smiled thinly with a listless face. Melanie took off her embrace and looked at Valerie fixedly. "Where do you live now?" ask Melanie.

"Apartment for a while" Valerie said.

"Judah I helped you clean up." said Melanie. Valerie nodded and finally re-entered the house with Melanie.

Valerie walked into her room, which was partially burned and had broken glass on the floor. Valerie grabbed the suitcase she had stored in the Walk in Closet which fortunately was not too late for the red one.

Valerie packed her clothes, bags and shoes into a suitcase. Some of the items and files are still saved into the cardboard. But unfortunately, his phone and laptop burned, half the bed as well. Valerie stared at the nightstand next to her unburned bed and found the still-intact picture frame there.

Valerie grabbed the picture frame. A little Valerie photo with Mama and Papa in front of her first Rot store. Fortunately it still survived. Valerie stuffed the frame into the cardboard, looking back for items that survived the fire.

Valerie came out of her room with one more cardboard box and placed it outside the room, where the items she had gathered were gathered.

"VALE." Vale frowned at the scream that echoed in his house. Valerie stepped towards the stairs and found Aiden on the first floor standing unsettled with a panicked face.

"Aiden." Aiden turned to the source of the voice and found Valerie standing at the end of the second floor staircase. Aiden ran up the stairs, then scattered to hug Valerie tightly.

"Are you okay?" tanya Aiden was still tightly hugging Vale's waist. Valerie gave a small nod over Aiden's shoulder, but Aiden could feel the nod.

Aiden took off his embrace, then looked at Valerie's face fixedly. Aiden could see a tired look on Valerie's face. His eyes looked lethargic and puffy from crying.

Aiden's hand cupped Valerie's cheeks in her hand. Aiden rubbed some burnt black ash on Valerie's cheeks gently.

Valerie smiled faintly with a tired face. "You know what?" valerie asked, letting Aiden clean her face.

"I know where it doesn't matter either. The important thing now is that you're okay." Said Aiden who managed to make Vale again smile softly.

Valerie stared at Aiden's neat-looking appearance with a fress scent emanating from the man's body. "You're out shooting?" asked Vale who was replied nod by Aiden.

"Udah, I still have to clean up" said Vale lowered Aiden's hand from his cheek.

Valerie stepped back towards her room followed by Aiden. Aiden stared at the half of Valerie's room which was blackened by the burning.

Valerie circled around her room to make sure things were back together, while Aiden stepped around Valerie's room.

The first time Aiden set foot in the girl's room. Aiden stepped towards the balcony and found some cloth ties tied up on the balcony railing. Aiden looked at him with the rope.

"You were stuck in the room during the fire?" ask Aiden to Valerie.

"Yes." Yeah." Valerie nodded as she stepped towards the balcony.

Valerie stared at the rope that saved her life it was still tied there.

"I survived with this." Valerie touched it.

Aiden stroked the top of Valerie's head up and down with a sweet smile. "Smart kid." praise Aiden for putting on a face like a proud father to his son.

Valerie smiled shyly at Aiden's funny reaction. "I've rented an apartment for you and a freight car will soon arrive." said Aiden who was met with a look of disbelief.

"really?" valerie asked who was replied by a nod by Aiden. Valerie hugged Aiden while thanking haru.
