Valerie moved into Jovan's house. Of course not with Aiden. The man chose to stay at his parents' house, plus he also missed his family.
He has been in Russia for three days. Two days later, he had to go back to New York. Vale decided to take a leisurely walk in the area where he lived first. Vale stared at a bakery standing in front of him. This shop, the family bakery. The place where Vale accompanies Papa and Mama every day.
This place is owned by someone else. Grandpa and Grandma sold it for school money and other necessities. This shop is still a bakery, although the shape has changed a little. Vale missed.
The smell of bread he breathed every day. Her mother baked bread and her busy father made dough. Vale missed.
Vale decided to go inside. There was a bell, after Vale opened the door. The shop is bigger and better. But what makes Vale stunned is, all the decorations still look the same as before. Tables and chairs and some displays in the store are still the same as before. The shop is well taken care of.
"." (Welcome.) Vale nodded while throwing a warm smile.
Vale glanced at the whole loaf of bread that was neatly displayed and looked tempting. Valerie was sitting at one of the tables there. The table he always sat at with his Mom and Dad. Vale rubbed the table with a faint smile.
Vale ordered some green tea and some bread for a sunny morning. Remembering the past and keeping it well in his head.
Valerie was enjoying her tea while gazing at the street visible from the transparent glass beside her. Seeing people who seem to be passing by with their own busyness.
Vale's phone is ringing. Vale grabbed it and lifted it. "Hello."
"Vale, where are you? I came to the Jovan Mansion and didn't find you." said Aiden across the street.
"I was out for a walk, enjoying a day that was about to end" Vale said.
"Where are you?" ask Aiden again.
"I was at my bakery first." replied Vale. Aiden just turned off the phone, making Vale frown in wonder.
"Basic." rutuk Vale annoyed.
Vale enjoyed looking out the road again. A few minutes later, Aiden entered the store. The man somehow knew where he was now.
"Do you know this place?" ask Vale wonder. Aiden nodded. "Of course." Aiden sat down in front of Vale.
"If you want, order it yourself" Vale said with a teasing smile. Aiden smiled at Vale's behavior.
"Hurry and finish your meal! We continue the walk." said Aiden.
"This is my bakery first. My mom and I are busy in this store every day. Papa will be busy kneading the dough and Mama will be busy baking. I was busy drinking milk and walking around here and there." said Vale while chuckling to remember his memories.
"I'll go play during the day and go home in the afternoon. It doesn't matter if it's snowy or not" Vale said.
"Papa always says my voice shakes the world when I shout" Vale said, chuckling.
Aiden smiled at him. "Indeed." Inwardly Aiden replied to Vale's words.
Vale stirred his tea in silence. "May Papa and Mama look at me with a smile up there" Vale said again as he stared fixedly at Aiden. Aiden nodded quickly. "They must be smiling" Aiden said.
Vale nodded while smiling. Vale got up and paid for his order.
"Let's go!" vale told Aiden.
Aiden nodded and stepped in tandem with Vale. The two men walked slowly beside the road. Passing through each building with nostalgia.
Vale looked at a quiet alley to his left, then stopped stepping. Look at the alley.
"What's wrong?" ask Aiden confusedly.
"I once saved a male homeless man who was beaten by some bigger man in this alley" Vale said. Aiden paled hearing that. It turns out Valerie remembered the incident.
"I took her to my shop and treated her. From then on, the older brother always came to the bakery to meet me. I'm going to go help him get the money from then on. But he never told me his name. Now, what happened to her? Is he still living as hard as he used to be?" vale said at length while staring fixedly at the alley.
"Did you remember me too?" ask Aiden suddenly.
Vale frowned, then turned to look at Aiden confusedly. "meaning?" vale didn't know anything.
Aiden grabbed Vale's hand, leading him somewhere. Vale just silently followed Aiden's pull. Until they reach a children's playground with a shady tree with a swing.
Vale stared at the playground in silence. "You remember?" ask Aiden.
"I have a friend named Will and we play here a lot" Vale told Aiden. Aiden nodded.
"I'm Will." said Aiden who managed to make Vale's mouth open wide in surprise.
"You Will? Don't joke, it's not funny, Hahaha." asked Vale in disbelief as he laughed and hit Aiden's arm. Aiden looked at Vale with an unstoppable look. Making Vale instantly stop his laughter.
"Really?" ask Vale again. Aiden nodded casually.
"I'm Aiden William Zachary. I was called Will from childhood by my parents. I've been called Aiden since I became an artist" Aiden said. Vale closed his mouth unexpectedly.
His childhood friend used to be, now, the world's top artist.
Flashbacks.
Little Vale stepped over while skipping around a little with candy in his hand.
"Bas with the little boy."
"We don't play with little kids."
Little Vale stared at the source of the voice. At the playground, a boy is mobbed by three other friends.
Little Vale looked at him closely, until finally the three men began to push one more boy until he fell to the ground.
Little Vale couldn't stay still. He immediately stepped quickly with his small legs and shouted furiously.
"YOU GUYS ARE BAD. DON'T PUSH ANYMORE!" the little girl shouted with an angry face.
"What can you little girl do?" ask them lightly while laughing mockingly.
"VALE CALL THE POLICE, LET'S GET YOU ARRESTED. YOU BAD GUYS HAVE PUSHED HIM TO FALL." shouted Vale again.
"Sad... Le's go! Let him be with the cupu." said one of them and they finally left.
Vale stepped closer to the man sitting on the ground. "Sister, why not volunteer?" vale asked annoyedly considering the incident earlier. Vale helped the boy to stand up.
"Thank you." said the boy.
"Sama-sama." said the little Vale with a sweet smile. The boy smiled to see the warm and sweet smile of the little girl in front of him.
Vale and the boy sat under the shade tree side by side.
"Don't want candy?" vale asked as he held out a candy stalk he had just picked up from the bag he had always carried everywhere.
The boy nodded and accepted the candy.
"Whose sister's name?" ask Vale again.
"Will" he answered briefly, concisely and clearly.
Little Aiden was clearly very rigidly talking to others. Her friends always bully her because she doesn't talk much and can only hang out with books at school. Therefore little Aiden replied to Vale with a bit of fret, as he had never been friends before.
"Son Will if they get beaten back" said Vale annoyed.
Little Aiden could only nod because he did not know what to answer.
"My name is Valerie Kak." said the little Vale. If Aiden is quiet and rigid with people, then Vale is inversely proportional to Aiden. The little girl even told me her name without being asked. He even felt instantly familiar with the new person.
"If you want, Vale can be your friend" said little Vale, throwing a big smile at little Aiden.
Those words were what made little Aiden see there were stars around Valerie. For the first time, he felt elated and came smiling widely. For the first time, he had a friend by his side.
Off Flashback.
Seriate....
