The Lost Sense

The Lost Sense
Chapter 54

While Arby and I were talking, suddenly a couple came to see you. I don't know any of my relatives yet, I greet them with a friendly smile. But the reaction from the guest was so unexpected, especially the female ones. My hands were pressed when I was about to dive in.

"Good morning Om, Auntie," I said, extending a hand and about to kiss the back of their hand.

Om's hand, which I later knew his name was Om Defry I greet. But not with aunt Elis, who immediately brushed my hand by asking about mama.

"Betty, where? I am your aunt, not aunt," he said in a hostile tone. His gaze was haughty with his head slightly raised. I still haven't answered my mother's voice behind me.

"Hi, this early morning tumben has come to see, Lis," exclaimed mama while greeting the two.

"Because there's something important, brother." said the jutek.

"If so we have breakfast first, just talk about the others. Arby, it's done, huh?" mama said because she saw Arby getting up from the chair.

"Yes, Ma. I have a sudden business, so breakfast first. About last night, I've apologized to you, Brother Reny. I won't repeat it next time. Excuse me, auntie, um." Arby passed by, without reacting to the arrival of his aunt and uncle. In my heart I was astonished at Arby's attitude.

"Huh!, that kid from day to day never changes. There's no respect for us as older people" aunt Elis grumbled.

"Here you go, don't be dizzy again. Who started who. You also never want to give up," said the father who was suddenly present in the dining room.

"Eh, Handoko's sister. Why the hell, always remember Arby continues." aunt Elis approached papa and regretted it.

"You're also why you're always looking for faults, Arby. Every time you come, the comfort in this house is gone." said papa surprised me. I was astonished to see the sincerity of my father facing Aunt Elis.

"Morning has come, there are more problems with finances" grunts papa coldly

"So don't dong, I haven't spoken already directly suspended, that's."

"I don't have time with pleasantries, Lis. If you're right, I'm sorry I couldn't help."

"Already, Pa, let's have breakfast first. It will be cold everyone," mama mediates an atmosphere that begins to look tense.

"Papa did not like it, they came only if they wanted to. Asking about Crispy, just pound it out of mind. We have been looking for him for years. Never cared at all."

"Oh, the crunchy problem, anyway that made big brother, inflamed. I've explained my attitude. If I don't believe that he's my nephew."

"What makes you not believe, all the evidence is clear. Our parents could feel that bond. Blood is thicker than water." jolted papa windy.

"Papa, already. About Crisp we know better, and others can not sue it," said mama firmly calm papa.

I who had witnessed the dispute earlier, could only remain silent without being able to do anything. I finally understood Arby's attitude. Why did he rush off as soon as he saw the arrival of om and his tant.

"Reny, why are you still there. Let's sit here" exclaimed papa. "Here, your niece who went missing 30 years ago. But your reaction to her discovery disappointed me so much."

"I'm sorry our sister-in-law, not that we don't care. But we are too busy, then this can divide the time to come," said Mr. Defry interjected after being silent. Aunt Elis still scowled as if she did not like the words of her husband who tried to melt the atmosphere.

Several times I saw my mom always trying to mediate papa to give up more. But papa's attitude is hard and firm so it is not easy for mama as a referee.

I don't know what exactly is the problem between papa and sister, the only one. Papa is the only two siblings, namely Papa and Aunt Elis. Throughout the breakfast event, always in the interruptions of the speech of papa and aunt Elis who was a bit alot.

"How many times have I told you, whenever I don't forgive them. So, you, no need to bother mediating, our feud, understand!" Shouted papa, while slamming spoons and forks on his plate. Papa stopped eating breakfast, but still half the rest.

"You always have been, stubbornly. What is so hard about apologizing. That incident was long gone," Bi Elis also did not want to lose. Replying to papa's words is no less harsh.

"It's easy to forget their treatment. But me, my pride that they trample on, it's not that easy to apologize. After all these years, do they ever care? Not once did they come here, just apologizing, I even had to go there. Nah! I said no, still not!" papa got up from the chair and entered the room by slamming the door. His voice thumped, shocking all of us.

Aunt also immediately left, stomping her feet so furious with papa's behavior. Auntie took me by force Defry to come home soon. Om Defry, who felt wrong, was forced to follow in his wife's footsteps without saying anything more.

I looked at my mother, who was breathing a long sigh. My eyes demanded an answer to the incident. But it looks like that answer I won't get, at least for now. Because mama prefers to enter the room, following papa.

I also had to go upstairs to my room. My two children have gone to school, so I haven't had much to do in the meantime. I remember Sofi, but calling her this early is not a good idea either.

I'm sure Sofi is busy with his super-hardy bibs. I was looking for a cell phone, between yes or no contact Sofi. The knock on the door broke my plan.

"Tock....Tok...., crisp, it's mama," came my mama's delicate voice. I got out of bed, opened the door.

"What's up, Ma?" I wailed when I saw my mom standing behind the door, who knows papa was also coming.

"It's just mommy, your dad's gone to the office" explained Mama.

"What's the matter ma?" ask me to let my mom into my room. Mom chose to sit on the bedside. Then I followed my mom too, sitting next to her.

"I'm sorry mom and dad, yeah. You saw what happened at the dinner table. Mama doesn't understand either, your dad and aunt never get along. Even if I get along for a while, then make a fuss again. Gigu keep."

"Ah, no papa, no ma. The family's problems will be endless" I said. Mom nodded in agreement.

"But mom feels bad about you. Oh, yeah, did Arby really apologize to you?"

"Yes, ma."

"really? You guys said anything, he didn't say anything rude to you, did he?"

"No, Ma. Ordinary, really. Menururur Reny, Arby is not even a bad boy. Only, Reny felt he was under too much pressure. Did you treat him too hard?" my many.

Mom's mind seemed to be staring far away, hearing my question.

"The story is very long, Ren."*****
