Chapter 63. First and Last

Ben was still staring at his two sons who were busy picking flowers for Giani.

"I didn't expect them to have such a scary side. I think there's something wrong with them." Ben talks to Ramos, but his eyes are still centered on Jack and Jarret. The two boys seemed to be unaware of his father's eyes.

"You need to put limits on them, Boss. If the other side is dominant. Madam Giani would definitely be very shocked if she found out."

"I think I need to give them some understanding. Somehow they hid all that from Giani all this time."

Jack and Jarret approach Ben. They had already finished picking flowers for her mother. Jack took the money he had in his bag. He paid the flowers himself.

"Hey, boy. Let daddy pay for the flowers."

"No, this is our flower for mommy. So we have to pay for it ourselves. If daddy wants to, daddy can pick his own flowers and pay for them" Jack replied, closing his bag.

Ben finally picked a bouquet of pink tulips and paid for them.

They get back in the car. During the trip Ben still seemed to think.

"Jack, can Jared daddy ask you for something?"

"Daddy just tell me what's going on?"

"You guys have had that stuff for a long time? How did you hide it from mommy?"

"It wasn't in the house, we kept it in Uncle Albern's place."

"Did uncle Albern not question you?"

"She asked, but I told her we'd use it to protect mommy. So he didn't ask much more. Why?"

"Do you want to promise me that this will be the first and last time you use that device?"

"We can't, Dad. Sorry." which." Jack and Jared answered at the same time.

"If anyone hurts mommy again then we'll use all that to get back at her. We'll always be at the forefront of protecting mommy from anyone who hurts her."

"Boys, you guys now have daddy. Don'worry. Daddy will protect you all. Daddy wants you to grow up like the other kids."

Jack and Jared were silent. They still can't trust Ben's mother. They are used to having to think of adulthood to protect Giani.

No more chatter after that. Jack and Jared remained silent until they got home. They went down first and chose not to wait for Ben.

"Is there something wrong with me, Ramos?"

"No, Boss. I'm sure they just still need time to fully believe in you. I can still see the doubt in their eyes."

"I think they're precocious."

"That's because of the circumstances that forced them, boss. If only they didn't have to wait that long."

"It's all my fault and I'll make it up to you. I was so worried about them that I forgot what they really needed. Go home, I'll be home all day."

Ben finally got out of the car. He came into the house with a bouquet of flowers. Giani sits in the living room with Jack and Jared pampered on his left and right sides.

Ben approached and kissed Giani on the forehead and gave him a bouquet of flowers.

"Wow, what's this really about? Why are you all giving me flowers?"

"This is your day. You deserve our love, but it seems like our family formation is lacking. There should be a baby girl in our midst" Ben said, glancing mischievously at Giani.

"Is mommy pregnant? I want to have a little sister" Jack said excitedly as always.

"Awhile more. Daddy's working on it."
