After meeting with her friends, Amara headed to the restaurant owned by her beloved mother who was near Jalan Pahlawan. One of the restaurants of Javanese cuisine with a full range of options with buffet models.
The restaurant is never empty of visitors, almost every day is always crowded. It already has three branches in the area of west Surabaya, south Surabaya and Sidoarjo.
Amara had lunch there. After picking up some food as well as drinks, he sat at the very end corner close to the glass.
“Hei, Mara!” someone surprised the beautiful woman. He looked up to see who was greeting him. “Assalamu’alaikum.”
“Wa’alaikum salam.”
“When to go back to Surabaya? I just heard from Nisa you're in Lamongan.”
“Yes, just got home yesterday. But the day after tomorrow I have to come back.”
“Can I sit?” The man smilingly pointed at the chair in front of Amara.
“Please.” Amara welcomed, after all, this is an open place and many people around him. They're not really alone.
“Mara, there's something I want to talk about,” the man said seriously.
“What?” Amara stared at her schoolmate.
“I'm sorry about what happened to you. Maybe you still need a lot of time to heal your wounds, I understand, but let me express my intentions. How do I decide to give it all back to you.”
Their table atmosphere looked so serious. Amara became a little wary of what the man in front of her would say.
Though they have known each other for a long time, but of heart and mind, no one knows except Allah.
“I'd like to propose to your parents if allowed, Mara. I've liked you for a long time, not since when the feeling developed into a love in the heart. I know this is too sudden, but I just want to express this goodwill so as not to become regret later on.”
Amara pecked for a while. He removed the handle on the spoon and fork he had in his hand. Take a deep breath and exhale slowly.
A real surprise for him.
Since when did Bilal Hasby fall for him? He never showed any signs of someone who liked.
“Mara!”
The beautiful woman woke up from her daydream. He stared at the man before him briefly before finally subduing his gaze.
Honestly for now Amara has no thoughts of getting married, let alone having a relationship.
“Sorry, Bilal. For now I have no intention of getting married or anything else first. I still want to learn to deepen my religious knowledge and become a good Muslim. Thank you for your honesty,” replied Amara gently and tried to choose a good vocabulary so as not to hurt her interlocutor.
“I can wait, Mara.”
“Love can naturally come at any time and to anyone, without being forced. I'm not a good woman, but if we are a match then there will be a way closer to us. If not, ask God to erase your feelings.” Amara took a slow breath and continued, “Hopefully this honesty does not hurt you.”
Bilal nodded with a disappointed face. “What's wrong, Mara. I'm glad you've been honest with me. Insha Allah if it is a match, may there be the best way.”
The soul mate is a mystery. When and who it comes to is a secret.
