Chapter 25 - 25. Returnees

William was furious.

After all the pain his disciple endured just to become a little stronger, he was betrayed on his first mission by a worthless warrior.

Mason stood up and explained with his head lowered.

"Vice captain, we last saw him one and a half days ago when he was hit by a rank 3 monster. The last thing we heard was he cursed Balor."

He pointed at the man tied to the ground.

William focused on the man on the ground, the mental pressure he put out made Balor unable to breathe.

"Please vice-captain have mercy! The boy threatened and insulted me and I was afraid for my life, I just did what I had to do to survive!"

A lie comes out of Balor's mouth as William gets closer.

He took the bound hand of the trembling warrior and held it in his hand.

Then he spoke in a cold voice.

"If my disciple threatens you, you bow your head and ask for mercy."

The grip grew tighter as the blood flow in Balor's hand stopped.

"If my student insults you, you smile and thank him for the hint."

A cracking sound came from his hands as the bones pressed against each other.

His anger was so overwhelming that he did not hear the faint sound of footsteps from the cave entrance.

"If my disciple is risking his life, you exchange your place for his own and risk yours, and if you die in the process, you do so with pleasure." -."

CRACKS

The bones in Balor's hand were shattered but he could not make a sound. He was too frightened by William's anger that he had no air left to speak.

The guards who witnessed the process trembled as they heard the sound of his hand breaking and prayed that they could survive the vice-captain's vent.

"Sir, what are you doing here?"

A young voice came from the cave as a figure was seen at its entrance.

He was a child with his upper body naked, his piece of suit hanging on his side.

She was bathed in a green substance from head to toe making it seem like she had some kind of skin disease.

A broken sword was in his left hand with only half of the blade remaining.

He looked half-smiling at William with calm eyes.

"Noah?"

William immediately got up and jumped on it as he examined the injuries on his body, but apart from a few scars and his suit was dismembered, everything was fine inside him.

"Yes sir?"

Noah looked at him confusedly, he still could not relate his presence to this place.

The other guard looked at him with wide eyes and even Balor opened his mouth as if he could not believe what he was watching.

William was thrilled to see his disciple survive, but could not help to unleash the storm of questions.

"How did you survive? What about level 3? Why didn't you come back early? And why are you green?"

He held onto Noah's shoulder which shook him whenever a question came out.

Noah was forced to answer to appease his master.

"Well, the cave was quite big so I kept running around killing spiders. The walls were destroyed by the fat so I had to find another way out. Rank 3 is dead and green is the blood of the other spiders."

This time, everyone opened their mouths while digesting the information.

"What do you mean rank 3 is dead?"

"Well, dead is dead, I killed him."

Another wave of shock passed through the people who heard this.

This time Balor spoke.

"Omong empty! How can you kill a rank 3 magical beast and come out unscathed?"

He regretted saying that when he saw the Teacher-student duo staring at him with killing intent and he lowered his head in fear of another round of torment.

"The bastard was right, how did you do it?"

Noah took out a fold from his waist and showed it to his master.

"I showed Rune Kesier and took the opportunity when he was confused to make a fatal attack. I believe it's still in the process of adapting to an evolved body, that's why I can hurt it."

William felt a slight irritation within him.

He smiled at Noah and said in a calm voice.

"And why did you bring the rune with you on the mission?"

Noah answered honestly as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

"Well, it's a 6-day trip and I want to train in time off."

A light blow arrived at the top of his head.

"You can't! Did you really think of nothing but practice? Uff, I think it's okay because it saved your life. Still, how can you not get hurt?"

Noah seemed to remember something. He took an oval shape tied with cloth and gave it to his Master.

When William unfolded it, a blue light shot out from it.

"Breaths blessed! No wonder the specimen managed to reach rank 3! Haha my disciple, this time you really did an exemplary job. Don't worry, I'll mediate the inner ring for you and pick up the best gift I can bargain for."

Hearing the word "gift" Noah's eyes sparkled and he licked his lips.

"I'm going to need a better sword, sir. This one only cracked after a few blows from a rank 3 beast."

William was about to reprimand but then shook his head with a smile and ruffled his unattached hair.

"Most importantly, what do you want to do with it?"

He pointed at Balor on the ground who was looking at him with begging eyes.

Noah approached and saw his pitiful figure.

"Please, young master have mercy. I swear I'll serve you with all my skills from now on, I will..."

A burst of pleading came out from his mouth but Noah just kept staring at him with cold eyes.

When Balor stopped talking, Noah gave only a short answer.

"No."

The sword made a horizontal bow and Balor's head detached from his body and rolled around on the ground, blood flowing dirtying the terrain.

His master approached him and asked in a soft voice.

"Are you okay? After all, this is the first time you've killed a human."

Noah looked at him with a smile and said in a shameless voice.

"You know, my second cycle's over, so I think we can get to the third treatment right away"

Another blow hit the top of his head and forced him to shut up.
