The Birth of the Demon Sword

The Birth of the Demon Sword
Treacheries

Chapter 22 - 22. Treacheries

At dawn, a group of five men and a child stared at the entrance of the underground cave two meters wide and three meters high. It went down until the eyes could see and was completely silent.

"The road will run for about a kilometer and then it will split in different directions. I only know which way the spider went last night because I stopped there."

Lukas explained.

"I'll be in your head, you're all following closely."

Mason orders and enters, the rest of the group follows with Noah in the middle.

The passageway was made of rocks and terrain and did not appear to be very stable and, as they moved, sunlight could not reach its position.

The passage was getting darker which made the group progress slowly.

Mason is very careful where he steps because he knows that, in the enemy's lair, even a little sound can cause havoc.

The passageway became bigger after some time and they could stand side by side, then they arrived where the cave was split into different branches.

Luke pointed at one of them and Mason went straight inside.

They walked for about an hour before the passage split again.

The light is minimal and the air feels wet, but the group must wait until Luke finds some animal tracks to decide which direction they should explore.

"There is no conclusive trace, well, there are signs of their journey in all 4 directions. I suggest we take the far right one because it looks like there's light coming from there."

Mason thinks for a while and then decides to follow Luke's advice.

They moved again and after an hour of travel, the cause of the dim light coming from the end of the rocky corridor presented itself.

A large basin occupied a space of several hundred square meters and, in the center of it, a lake was located that shone with a dim blue light.

'The shining water?'

Noah was surprised, he had never heard of anything like this.

He looked around to see if any of the group knew anything.

Mason's eyes were wide open like his mouth was hanging on his jaw.

Seeing Noah's gaze, he calmed down and spoke in a soft voice.

"I probably have an idea of what it is and if I'm right, we don't have to work anymore for the rest of our lives. However, to be sure, I have to look at it up close."

Everyone's attention was distracted by Mason's words as they started staring at the lake with greed.

'Surprisingly, the concentration of 'Breaths' seems to be higher than the surface.'

Noah could feel his acupoints slowing down their work because the air had a higher percentage of "Breaths" in it.

Before he could investigate further, Mason moved towards the lake.

On the walls of this huge space, there were countless holes with different dimensions and on the ground, there were countless bones belonging to different species.

'The spider's legs are iron-plated, the human skull, it should belong to the sheep.'

As they got closer to the shore of the lake, the number of bodies increased as the concentration of "Breaths" increased in the air.

When they reached the shore of the lake, Mason could not hide his excitement anymore.

“Yes, I'm sure. Inside the lake, there is definitely a blessing of “Napas”, it is a legendary mineral that can pull “Nafas”, the inner ring will pay whatever the price to get it, it is a legendary mineral that can pull Nafas, the inner ring will pay whatever the price to get it, imagine our reward if we bring it back!"

Everyone gazed into the middle of the lake, trying to find this legendary stone with their eyes, they did not realize that a crawling sound was beginning to echo in the basin.

"They're coming!"

He drew his sword without hesitation.

The men began to wake up to Noah's warning and cursed loudly when they heard voices coming from all directions.

Spiders crawled out of the hole in the wall, they had different dimensions as some of them were still rank 1. However, at least 50 of them were ranked 2nd.

"Don't panic! We may get hurt but we can handle their numbers."

mason shouted at the hundreds of magical beasts surrounding them.

Suddenly, the bones at the edge of the lake lifted as the figure hidden underneath was revealed.

It is 3 meters long and has 8 long, sharp legs.3 pairs of eyes are on the sides of its face and 2 large pincers protrude from its mouth.

"Rank 3!"

Luke shouted but the mighty beast did not hesitate.

He shot one of his legs at Noah, who blocked him but was thrown several meters away.

"RUN!"

Mason orders, as the group moves in the direction they came from, unconcerned with the spiders blocking their path.

Noah jumped to his feet and followed them slightly behind.

'Fuck! My hand was still shaking from the punch and I thought my sword was slightly cracked. Why didn't I reach this conclusion, it was obvious! The only reason why a magical beast is so selfless is because there is something stronger than its command! I'm so stupid! I have to run!'

He darted past the herd of spiders as if he was a shadow, crouched down and jumped to avoid their legs.

The other guards had reached the passageway and swung their weapons to force the spider barrier, when Noah arrived they had already proceeded and a new spider had come to block his escape.

Without wasting any time he executed the best form he had ever taken in his life and killed 2 rank 2 spiders on the spot only to continue advancing towards the passageway.

Inside, more spiders crawled out of the wall using their powerful legs to block the way, but Noah did not care.

He let them scratch and cut off his skin so as not to waste time.

When he arrived at the place where the first hallway was, Balor was already there preparing to enter. He seemed to be not in good shape due to the wounds all over his fat body and blood flowing out from him.

He looked at Noah who was speeding towards him and smiled.

"Don't worry young man, I will definitely tell everyone about your brave attempt at restraining the beast to allow us to escape. And don't worry about your mother, I'll definitely comfort her properly eheh."

Noah's eyes widened hearing these words but he could only see as the man in front of him raised his hammer and smashed into the wall by his side.

The walls of the passageway could not withstand the impact and collapsed in front of him, while Balor was speeding away on the other side.

"NO!"

A rude shout came out from Noah's mouth as his only exit shattered in front of him.

'Fuck! Fuck those! Fuck that!'

"Fuck you, you useless pig, if I get out of here alive, I'll kill you personally!"

He could not resist the curse.

Meanwhile, the spider kept coming towards him so he had no time to despair.
