The Birth of the Demon Sword

The Birth of the Demon Sword
Sieges

Chapter 20 - 20. Sieges

The guards were shocked but nodded internally at such a show of strength.

After all, they were soldiers, they respected power.

The captain didn't seem to care much because he had already gotten used to this kind of incident among the soldiers all his life.

"Because everything is in order, the meeting is over. See you at dawn tomorrow, I'll take care of the car rental but remember to bring some supplies with you. Cleaning the nest may take longer than we thought."

The group disbanded and everyone left, but Balor took longer to get up because his legs still lacked strength.

'That fat idiot, I really hope he won't cause me any trouble on this mission. At least, the other guards should trust my abilities a little now'

Noah was still upset by Balor's previous actions.

He did not know if it was mocking his mother, his courage even though he was weak, or just his aspect.

'On the good side, I will finally fight a rank 2 monster, I am tired of just arguing with the Master.'

He went back to his room and packed up things to travel. He ordered the waiter to make a few servings and check if everything was ready.

He only had one doubt.

'Should I take the Kesier rune with me? I can't train in it because I'm going to be exhausted after every session and I can't let me be weak on missions.'

He would hide the sheets under the bed when he thought of something and happily stuff the runes into his suit.

'If I practice for only a few hours, it will be fine right?'

If his master listened to him say something like that, he would probably beat him up.

Two hours meant nothing to Noah because the second treatment made his mind firmer.

The next day he was the first to arrive in the courtyard.

When the other members of the group arrived, they would nod at Noah and wait for everyone to gather.

The only exception was Balor who did not even try to hide his hatred and hatred for Noah.

Noah did not care enough to pay attention to him and when the last person arrived, they moved together towards the main gate to retrieve their carriage.

While they were on the road, Mason, from inside the carriage, cleared his throat to attract everyone's attention.

"To have better teamwork, we must introduce ourselves and the weapons of our choice."

The outer ring guards were a group of soldiers numbering slightly over 100 people so it was safe to say that they knew each other at least superficially.

'Did he do this for me? He wants to get on William's good side?'

As Noah thought, Mason was trying to help him because of his relationship with the vice-captain.

"I'm Mason, one of the oldest in the outer ring group, I use a big axe."

The other guards did not seem to hate the idea and answered briefly.

"Luke, bow and knife".

"Robert, long sword, you can call me Rob."

"Eddy, long sword."

Balor only snorted but two heavy hammers were placed on his side as a pretty obvious answer.

Silence descended inside the carriage which was very awkward.

Robert took out some dice from his backpack while smiling brightly.

"I brought this, someone wants to play even and odd?"

It is a simple game where you have to bet on odd or even and the outcome of the rolling dice will determine the winner.

The soldiers quickly agreed to kill their boredom with only Noah and the captain remaining in their seats.

Like this 6 days of travel passed, as the carriage was slower than a horse, lit a bonfire every night and played games during the day.

Noah would have managed to sneak a few hours of training in the runes when everyone was asleep but never forced himself beyond the 2 hour limit because it would affect too much of his condition and he wanted to be prepared for danger anything.

On the night of the 6th day of their journey, the shape of the village appeared before their eyes.

There was smoke coming out from it and the torchlight created a red halo in the darkness.

"Something's wrong."

said Mason.

"Get out of the carriage, we ran over there and checked the situation as soon as possible."

The group of 6 got out and ran at full speed towards the village.

Noah was the fastest, although he did not have the most powerful body in the group, he was smaller and had a lighter weapon, so he bolted like a bolt leaving the other warriors behind.

'The end of the battle!'

He was really bored in these 6 days because he could not practice or argue with anyone.

The village grew closer in his eyes as screams and unclear orders became clearer in Noah's ears.

When he was about to enter the village boundary, he unsheathed his sword that was ready to fight.

Inside the village of Lilun, the scenery was terrifying.

The large spiders with dark gray bodies freely killed the helpless commoners and carried their corpses away.

The people in the village tried to create a defensive line to allow the women and children to escape, but they were nothing more than meat shields that could only stop the spider tide for a while.

Blood flowed continuously on the ground as the villagers were stabbed to death by the sturdy spider legs and then carried on their backs, the brown ground was turned into dark mud by the battle.

An iron-clad spider made it through the human wall and grabbed a screaming woman hugging a child, trying to block the impending blow with her body.

SHRIIII!

The sound of metal sliding into the metal rang out as the woman gathered her courage to look at the scene behind her.

A little boy, no more than 12 years old, was staring at the corpse of a spider at his feet.

A deep incision flowed in half of his head and green blood flowed from him.

The body of the spider was 1 and a half meters long and its head was only made 30 centimeters.

He was about to ask if it was him who saved her and her son but stopped seeing the sullen expression on the young man's face.

'I didn't use 'Breath' that much but the results were much less than I expected. The body of a rank 2 is indeed amazing, if I don't undergo a second treatment I worry that I can only kill 6 or 7 of them before having to rest.'

Iron spiders have extremely tough bodies, as the name suggests, their defense is top level within the range of rank 2 magical beasts.

Another soldier caught up with Noah and was surprised to see him get rid of a spider in such a short time.

An 11-year-old boy capable of defeating a rank 2 beast was not an everyday sight!

Seriate...
