SUPPOSE THAT...

SUPPOSE THAT...
I CAN'T

"I've been trying for years." Kirana ventured to look at her two stunned parents. "But I can't." she nodded while wiping her tears. "Jon is good and I like him. He's my best friend but not my companion."

"Kira.." Her mother squeezed her hands.

His father was silent with a troubled face. All the preparations were perfect. Even the invitation stayed. All families and relationships know. Some have even sent greetings and flower arrangements for their child's wedding.

"Daddy," Kirana called her father slowly. Making the middle-aged man who was bowed raised his face towards him.

"I know I let Daddy down." Kirana's teary eyes looked at her dearest father. His first love. The place where she first felt the comfort of her shoulders was leaning on in addition to her mother. The man with the face of a betel in two with him, who will always be the most handsome even though now his heart has been in the possession of another man.

Kirana. Wiped away her tears many times, before looking back at her father's face. "I'll take responsibility for my decision, Daddy." he said again. His voice was steady even though his face was covered in tears. "If necessary I will leave the house and will not demand anything because it has defamed the family."

Andreas' eyes were round hearing it. Like deja vu, years ago he said more or less the same thing. Andreas' old face was getting wrinkled. "How does Papa feel when I selfishly say get out of the house and leave all ?" he said in his heart. His heart aches to remember his father who has now calmed down in peace.

"What are you saying, Kirana ?" Marisa was crying. On the shoulder of the only princess. The daughter he was carrying with difficulty and in a state of suffering and filled with hatred for her husband first. The princess who strengthened him with a spoiled smile and warm embrace when he could not bear the situation. "If you don't want to, we'll discuss this with the Aoki Family. I'll keep you company." He wiped the tears on Kirana's cheek that looked at him with tears in her eyes. "But never say you want to get out of this house. I'll be mad and don't expect you to see me again. Understand ?" he smirks the beautiful face of his narrow-eyed daughter with both palms.

Kirana nodded with tears that would not stop flowing. His mother was the best, always trying to understand him. But now, it makes Kirana even more crowded, because it has put her loved ones in a difficult situation.

Andrew looked silently at his wife and son. Here he understood the term, a child will never understand the feelings of parents before he himself became a parent for his child. Andrew took a deep breath, feeling guilty about his mistake with his father.

"Jonathan is a friend's grandson and also a distant relative of your late Grandma, Ayaka." Andreas finally said. "Grandmother Jonathan loves you very much because your face looks like Grandma Ayaka, his best friend." Andreas was silent for a moment. "Daddy himself never agreed with the matchmaking. But seeing your closeness since childhood and this matchmaking is Oppa's last will that we love, Daddy thought there would be no problem."

The two women he had placed at his side of his heart looked at him.

"Kirana," Andreas said. The eyes are narrow and bright brown and the two look at each other. "Well, as time goes on, you can't accept Jonathan ?" he asks.

Kirana's eyebrows fused together. Unknowingly he squeezed the clothes he was wearing. "Well, how come Daddy could forget Mom and love Mommy Eva ?" he asked back.

Andreas jerks. Marisa is sitting next to him.

"There are people who are endowed with the heart easily accept love from others. It is easy to forget, and to be happy without looking back." Kirana says. "But Daddy, I'm your son." he smiled with teary eyes. "It's so hard Daddy, even though Jon's so nice and I'm trying to accept."

Andreas and Marisa silently listened.

"I'm sorry if I offended Daddy and Mom's past." Kirana said as she looked at the faces she loved. "I just want Daddy and Mom to understand. That I can't continue this marriage." she wiped her tears.

Andreas took a long breath. He wants to be angry, because the effect that is caused will definitely be extraordinary. But the reason his daughter had brought him was also true. He was in that position and knew how it felt. Although shy to admit, but the selfishness of Kirana at this time is the same as the selfishness of her at that time.

"Come here.." Andreas spread out both his hands.

Kirana hesitated to stand up. Hugged Ayahhya and sat next to her. His cry broke again as his father stroked the top of his head and he smelled the fragrance that always smelled as he leaned his head against the man's shoulder.

Kirana raised her tear-filled face. Can't believe looking at her real father.

"Thank you, Daddy" he said. "I promise I won't let go of my hands. It's because of me, then I'll.."

His father raised his hand, as a gesture for him to stop talking.

"Do you love anyone else, Kirana ?" tanyakanya.

Kirana.

"You love the man in the photo ?" His father asked again.

"No Daddy." Kirana finally answered. "The man I like has a partner." he said slowly.

Andreas and Marisa looked at each other.

"Who is Kirana ?" His mother asked.

Kirana did not answer. His hands are tied to each other's laps and squeezing each other.

"Then who do you hug if it's not the person you love ?" Her mother couldn't help but know. Because only this time his spoiled daughter can take a big decision and dare to face both parents, especially his father to ask for the cancellation of his marriage.

"I'm the one in the hug." Dave stood between them.

Kirana's eyes rounded to see Dave sitting in the living room.

"What ?" andreas' forehead was wrinkled deep.

Marisa said nothing. Just flabbergasted looking at Dave who had now lost his usual calm face.

"It's not what Daddy or Mom thought." Kirana said quickly.

"I took Kirana to the back garden and hugged her." Dave says. His heart seemed to jump out when he looked at his father. At least in the span of many years, Dave considers him as his real father and until now he still respects him a lot.

Andreas is the father figure to Dave who has never known or met his real father in his lifetime. And Marisa is the figure of Mother who always treats her gently. Things he never felt from his biological mother who more often locked himself in the room and did not care about it.

Dave lowered his head and closed his eyes, before then gazing back at the two people who were still looking at him with a clueless look. "Dad, Mom, I'm sorry." said Dave quietly.
