Kirana opened her window wide to breathe the fresh morning air and brought the fragrance of white roses from the rose garden that lay facing her bedroom window.
However there was another scent in this morning, making Kirana who was closing her eyes enjoying her fresh air instantly reopen her eyes.
"Barberque ?" Kirana's forehead was wrinkled because it smelled the roasted meat.
He shuffled from his bed and walked towards the balcony of his room which was sealed by a glass door that was covered in white curtains.
"KIRANAA...!" Kiandra's voice called out her name from a distance making Kirana's gaze point towards the source of the voice.
"DOWN !" Kiandra yells.
From the balcony of his room on the second floor, he saw his family gathering near the artificial lake. They sat around the mat and were partying barbeque. And look who's grilling the meat and corn that's been skewered to form satay, Dave.
"Did he stay here last night ?" kirana asked from a distance when she saw the man staring at her.
"KIRANAA !" Kiandra jumped up and down telling her to come down.
"Sure, I haven't had a shower yet." Kirana grouss.
Of course his sister who was in the distance did not hear.
He went back into his room, looking at the moment of the clock on the wall which indicated eight o'clock in the morning.
Kirana intended to take a bath, but imagining the beef on the roast with her fat melting made her stomach instantly rumble.
He became hesitant to take a shower and intended to go straight down with still wearing his sleeping pajamas and his pillow face.
"You're still like a child, aren't you ?"
Kirana's vigorous steps and was about to open the door came to a halt. Dave's words on her ring out in memory, making Kirana undo the intention and with a careless move decide to take a bath first.
"Tumben Kirana didn't go down right away ?" Kiandra said as she stuffed the thin piece of meat into her mouth.
"Maybe Kirana took a bath." Her mother who was helping Dave spread the seasoning on the meat being roasted by using a small brush said. The smell of the meat grew as fragrant as it was dabbed with its seasoning, making anyone who inhaled it gulped.
"I said tumben." Kiandra returned, then bit the last meat and threw her skewers into the trash near the smokeles barberque grill and then sat back on the mat next to her father who was busy calling.
Sunday mornings clear on the edge of a clear watery lake with some of its teratanya flowers in bloom. In addition to the manicured green grass that is spread with many trees that grow on the edges of the guardrail of the Marthadinata Family House with the outside world, adding shade to the atmosphere.
"The sauce you made was so delicious Dave." Marisa who this morning curled her long hair praised Dave who was cutting young corn into pieces.
Hearing her Dave just smiled faintly.
"It's worth it to be quiet, it's gathered here."
A man's voice rang out, making Marisa and Dave look at the source of the voice.
"Ohaiyoo.." Jonathan who this morning wore a plain white shirt and dark brown pants spoke while raising his hand.
The morning wind gently blew his hair. Adding to the charm of the good looks of Jonathan's face makes anyone sure to praise.
"Hahhhh !" Dave threw his face away. For the first time his facial expression that looks fed up is in harmony with his heart that does not like the presence of Jonathan there.
"Sweet it, Jon." Her future mother-in-law said as Jonathan walked up to their table full of barberque and grilled satay with sweet corn.
Jonathan glanced briefly at Dave who was standing near his Prospective Mother-in-law and was pretending to be busy flipping through his barberque meat.
"Scent her fragrant." Jonathan refocused on Marisa and smiled as usual.
"Dave made the sauce, it's delicious !" praise her Mother-in-law Candidate.
Take her one skewer consisting of cuts of beef and sweet corn that Marisa offers on her.
"Don't you ?" marisa's face brightened as she asked. "Dave's concocting the seasoning and grilling it." he said proudly.
"Waah.." Jonathan's tone was full of admiration but try to see the expression of his face, seen once if he was mocking Dave who was staring at him with a furrowed forehead.
"Yes, right ? it's delicious, isn't it ?" Marisa, who does not know about the tension between the two men who are close to her daughter, is still enthusiastic.
"Yes, it's delicious." Jonathan laughing.
But to Dave his laughter was like a mockery, making his mood instantly bad.
"I also don't think Dave's smart about cooking spices." Marisa was back to praise.
"Mahaha..." Jonathan laughed loudly. "Better than women, huh ?" Jonathan smiled broadly at Dave. "On kitchen spices." he added right, then chuckled.
Dave knew Jonathan meant to insult his cooking skills. His heart was already bristling and he longed to stuff Jonathan's mouth with a piece of frozen meat that he hadn't cut yet.
Yet he only let out a long sigh, trying to ignore all of it and staying focused on grilling the meat.
"Dave, you remember Jon, right ?" marisa asked because she considered Dave's silence because she forgot the Japanese man.
Dave stopped his grilling after the meat he roasted was cooked and put on the plate.
Now he looked at Jonathan.
"Jon's getting married to Kirana this year." Marisa explained, and welcomed Jonathan's big smile as they looked at each other.
"Yes, Mom. I remember." Dave said after being next to Marisa exactly. Face to face with Jonathan directly and only in separate is a small plastic table.
The two men looked at each other again.
"Hi, Dave." Jonathan finally greeted me first. "You're still here ?" he emphasized on the word here, with the intention that only Dave and himself knew.
Dave pulled his aunt into a smile. " Genki desu ka Jon ?" How come Dave is calm. "itsu nihon ni kaerimasu ka ?" dave's smile grew even more, his exact cynical smile.
Jonathan's forehead immediately wrinkled. Actually Dave was just asking when Jonathan was going back to his country. But seeing their relationship is not good, it could mean Dave is expelling Jonthan indirectly.
"Lapaaarrr...!" the cry of Kiandra from where she sat next to Andreas melted the tension between Jonathan and Dave who were completely unaware of Marisa who was arranging the meat they had roasted earlier.
"Yeah..Kian !" Marisa immediately brought a wide plate full of barberque meat to Kian and her Husband.
On the mat has been served rice, pieces of fruit and drinking water that has been provided earlier by the Maids.
"Darling, it's Sunday. Stop calling." said Marisa while Andreas was still busy with his cell phone.
With a signal, the 50-year-old man signaled that his wife was silent and pointed one index finger that means one more minute, then refocused on his phone.
Although a little upset, but his wife understands that her husband is a busy person. Even on holidays like this.
"After accusing and saying evil, you still have the face to come here ?" Jonathan said when there were only the two of them.
"Our outsiders know what ?" Dave smiled cynically.
Dave's expression changed slightly, before he smiled again. "Tuh, your future wife is coming" she said, turning around and walking and gathering with Andreas, Marisa and Kiandra.
Jonathan looked back, at his sight Kirana in a white dress with no arms and her long hair that was down was walking towards him.
