So My First Two Wives of Love

So My First Two Wives of Love
Not a surrogate mother

In the end I went home with Ruby's mother. Returning home to Gibran's parents, my grandmother was there with both Gibran's parents and my father. He looked surprised to see me coming along with his mother Ruby who kept holding my arm.

I don't know how my grandmother saw her granddaughter together with the woman who ruined her daughter's life but I can't let go of Ruby's mother, I can't bear it.

My grandmother then stepped closer, she didn't say anything but beyond my expectations, my grandmother touched her mother Ruby's face and began to cry.

"Come here." said my grandmother as she hugged her.

"Mom.." Ruby's mama's voice sounded soft, she cried and hugged my grandmother so tightly. No matter how much my grandmother lost her daughter, she must know how her mother Ruby feels now.

"It's all my fault, ma'am... This is my karma..."

"Don't say that, Ruby didn't bear any mistakes at all. This is his destiny, maybe God loves him more than us. He's happy now."

Ruby, look... Our family is back to being whole, but I can't be happy because you're not among us...

...

A few days after Ruby's death, Ruby's daughter was released from the hospital today.

Everyone was already waiting in the special room while the nurse brought Ruby's daughter from the observation room.

Her cries instantly sounded as soon as the nurse brought her in.

"Try me, she's your daughter now..." Mama Ruby immediately asked me to hold her granddaughter, and her words touched my heart and reminded me of my new status now even though Gibran and I still do not speak to this day.

I carefully carried her, Ruby's beautiful little princess. She was crying in my arms, probably because she was missing her mother. My heart immediately broke, I wanted to cry again but I immediately held it back. I don't want everyone who's been trying to stay strong to be broken again.

"Son.." call me in a soft voice and unexpectedly this little baby stopped crying, he even laughed when his tiny hand caught my thumb.

"He knows his mother..."

There was still pain as mama Ruby continued to say such things as if they had forgotten Ruby's sacrifice.

"Ruby will always be his mother but I will love him just as much" I said slowly and as I raised my gaze, Gibran's eyes immediately greeted my gaze.

The look in his eyes was still the same, as if he harbored his anger on me, he made me want to forget the fact that I was his wife now.

But it's a reality that I have to face, even I have to go home to his house, the house where he and Ruby lived all this time.

The dark and quiet atmosphere of the house immediately welcomed our arrival. Ruby's daughter is still in my arms while Gibran carries her gear.

"The baby's room is right there, my room is right next to her. You can sleep anywhere." gibran said, pointing out the location of the room he was referring to, but his tone sounded cold, but I wouldn't bother him because he had just lost Ruby and I didn't want to replace him either.

"Ok.." said briefly and brought Ruby's daughter to her room, placing her carefully on the pink bed.

I then sat in a chair that looks like Ruby is preparing to breastfeed her daughter. This room is so beautiful, soft pink with gold star ornaments on the walls and the ceiling of the room in a bright cloudy way.

The sound of knocking on the door blew my daydream, I stepped open the door and Gibran was standing there. She looks like she just finished her bath because her hair is still wet.

"His baby's sleeping?" ask Gibran a little peek.

"From the trip was still sleeping." I answered while opening the door wide. "Wanna see?" ask me because Gibran hasn't come near his daughter since.

"Sir.." she replied briefly, there was a feeling of annoyance that I felt towards Gibran because the man seemed to be indifferent to his daughter.

"Why do you give me whose name?"

"As far as you!"

Gibran's attitude really makes me furious especially he just went away after that.

"He's lost his mother, you want him to lose his father figure by being indifferent to him too?" I said as I pursued Gibran's steps.

"There's you, you're the mother now, right?!" replied Gibran who was currently in the kitchen while sipping water impatiently.

I was stunned, Gibran's high tone of voice and the indignation he showed me made me not believe that this man was the same man I had always loved.

"You're crazy!"

"You still wish I was sane with this situation? With Ruby's death? With your sudden presence replacing her? YOU THINK I CAN STILL BE SANE?"

"Keep you think I want this situation to happen? You think I want to lose Ruby, do you?!"

Gibran put the glass in his hand so tightly on the kitchen table that it made me aghast. He then walked up to me and whispered. "Is this what you always expected? Marry me? Congratulations, you got it now but don't expect anything from me!" gibran's eyes gushed with deep hatred, he defied me with his anger, talking as if Ruby's death was part of my prayer until my tears came straight because his words were too painful.

"Don't think my feelings are still the same, Gibran... Don't forget I also have my life that I have to sacrifice including my wedding plans with Brother Juna that are void because of you!"

Even if my heart is broken, I will not be broken in front of him again like I used to be.
