I stood in the mirror for the last time, perfect. Everything looks like it should. Ponytail hair and a neat white-gray uniform. This is my style and I love it. My bag is ready to be carried with beautiful textbooks inside. For the finishing touch, I picked up my favorite soft strawberry fragrance.
“Rex! What time is it? Let's wake!” Mom's voice sounded so jarring in every corner of the house. Of course it's because of that slacker!
“Rex!” yelled at my mom again. This time it was more jarring because it did not get any answers from the person called. I can only snort, because this is the morning routine in our family and I'm used to it. I took a deep breath then grabbed my backpack. Don't forget to check my shoelace ties, too.
I walked towards the door of my room and by the time I opened it, there was a very annoying sight.
Rex!
Rexy Aditya Chandra, that's his full name. The most annoying person in this house or even on this planet. Mama said that Rexy's name was inspired by her favorite badminton player, Rexy Mainaky. From my knowledge, Rexy Mainaky is an accomplished athlete and certainly very disciplined. But this Rexy one is the opposite.
Rex opened the door to his room, which was right in front of me. He scratched his head while yawning complete with a white T-shirt and his red spiderman boxer pants. What a shitty sight! But even more annoying is the fact that this annoying Rex is my twin brother. I mean, how can I have a twin like her?
“Can you do it anyway, you woke up on time?” spray sebal.
“Aduh...Ren's. Could it be, early in the morning do not need a lecture?” he answered with a dirty expression.
“Denger yes, I just woke up and my life is new in the process to gather into one. So if you hear a lecture early in the morning, my life can be over again, nih.”
“Not funny!”
Rex only replied with a grin. Without speaking again, I immediately left from there. Why should I care about Rex and that ridiculous joke? There are still many things more important than him.
I hurried and immediately went down the stairs. Mama looks like she's putting breakfast on the dinner table. The smell of his cooking was already smelling delicious in my nose.
“What breakfast, Ma?”
“Eh, Ren. Good morning.” said mom with her signature smile. I love seeing your smile as it is decorated with a pair of sweet dimples on her face.
“Morning is also.” I replied as I pulled up my chair and sat down immediately. There's a big bowl of cheese fried rice and a plate of beef-eye eggs that look so tongue-tying.
“Rex is awake?” ask mama while spooning the fried rice to my plate.
“Udah, again shower.” I poured water into a glass and drank it. My throat felt dry because it had not been drained by a single drop of water.
“Papa just got home in a few days. There is still a lot of work to be taken care of.” explained mama who is now sitting in her chair while scooping her fried rice.
“Papa call?” I have a mouth full of rice.
“Iya, last night. He said send greetings to the twins and mama was told to ask you to be brought by-by what?”
Papa is a successful entrepreneur who often travels on business. As of right now, papa is out of town and usually a week at most. I don't mean to be arrogant by saying that my papa is a successful businessman. But papa's success is really achieved with discipline and hard work. Papa started his business completely from scratch. Many times we wake up, but thanks to his hard work, our family can live comfortably like now.
I was about to open my mouth to answer, but suddenly there was a mysterious voice.
“One set of latest output drum tools!”
Rex walked over to the dining table and immediately pulled up the chair.
“Call to papa I ask for a set of drums, Ma.”
“No need, Ma!” cut me.
Rex narrowed his eyes while looking at me.
“You're envious, right?”
“Idih, why envy.”
“Keep why?”
“Ngapain is a waste of money to buy soan. Profidah!”
“Udah..morning don't fight. Abstinence!” said the mother who had laughed seeing our behavior.
It's nothing new anymore, me and Rex have always been like this. Although our twins have always been unsuitable in many ways. I'm also confused why twins can be like us? I mean, usually twins are identical to each other and look harmonious with each other. At least that's what I saw in the movies. But everything I saw was 180 degrees different from what I experienced. Sometimes I doubt the data and the fact that Rex is my twin.
“Let each one be sure to get souvenirs from papa.” continued mama again. Rex just smiled while putting on a mocking expression towards me. It's still morning and seeing his expression it makes my psychopath soul thrash. Why do I have to have a twin like her, anyway?
“I go first, Ma.” I said as I moved.
“But cepet?” protest Rex with a mouth full of rice.
“Makanya, if you wake up that morning do not be late.” mama quipped. Rex seemed not to take a headache and still ate voraciously.
“Go first, Ma.” I said while kissing my mom's hand.
“Yes, be careful. Mr. Alif is waiting in the car.” I just nodded.
“Ren, wait!” Without caring for Rex, I immediately rushed towards where Mr. Alif parked the car. A little small run to get to and quickly get out of here. As soon as I arrived, I opened the back door of the car and climbed up. The sound of the door slam seemed to make Mr. Alif a little surprised.
“Come, Sir. We go.” door. Alif looked back.
“Iya, Mbak.” he replied while looking for something.
“Come, Sir.”
“But where is Mas Rex?”
“He took a taxi. Come, Sir. Cepetan!”
Mr. Alif immediately started the engine but suddenly the back door opened.
“Eits...where the hell is the rush very?”
Rex walked in with a silly smile mocking him which was very annoying. Failed my brilliant plan!
“Lah, said Mas Rex take a taxi?”
“Taxi? No dong, sir. If I take a taxi, something will be missing and incomplete.”
“What is it, Mas?”
“Like Yin and Yang, Ren without Rex feels incomplete. Yes, Sir?” rex said while glancing around at me ignorantly.
A moment later he and Mr. Alif laughed out loud. They know very well that my current expression must be very terrible. Rex has really spread his annoying poison all over the earth, including to Mr. Alif! The car soon rolled down the street. As usual, the weather was very sunny this morning but I started the day very annoyingly. I hope this shitty morning doesn't get to school.
