Chapter 41's

It was almost dark when I came out of the classroom. Tonight I have a dinner appointment with Alexander. The man called me earlier.

The corridor was completely deserted. I don't see anyone but myself in the corridor at the moment.

Drrt... Drrt..

Alexander sent me a short message.

“From Alexander:

Where are you?”

I did not reply to the man's message and continued walking into the man's room. I've made him wait too long.

“You from anywhere?” asked the man when I entered his room.

“From class. There was my stuff that missed earlier.”

Alexander just shook his head and did not ask any more. He immediately picked up the suit he had placed in his chair and walked towards me.

We went out of his room to the parking lot, where Alexander's car was parked. The quiet atmosphere made me not afraid that anyone would see us walking together like we are today.

The man immediately drove his car away from the campus parking lot. Both of my eyes accidentally saw Lucy standing smiling not far from the campus parking lot when we were about to leave the campus parking lot. He smiled and made me feel uncomfortable.

“He hasn't come home yet?” my many.

“Who?”

Instead of answering, Alexander asked me back. I rolled my lazy two eyeballs.

“Lucy. He was still on campus.”

“Oh. Maybe Timothee is busy and hasn't had time to pick her up.”

I didn't continue to ask anymore because Alexander didn't seem to care so much about Lucy and Timothee at all.

My phone has been shaking ever since. It hasn't been long since we started eating dinner, but my phone can't seem to stand still.

“From who the hell?” alexander asked without looking at me. He was busy cutting and devouring the wagyu steak served on his plate.

“Entahlah. I haven't checked it since,” said I was trying to get rid of the worry and discomfort that has been approaching me ever since.

“Maybe it is something important,” Alexander said.

He seems to be quite distracted by the noise made by my phone that has been vibrating ever since. But I don't want to play my phone yet.

Alexander now turned his eyes away from his food. He looked straight at me. He seems to be unable to hold back anymore because it continues to be disturbed by the vibration of my phone.

I glanced at my phone and found Gioavano's name on my current screen. She called.

“What's up?” my many.

Alexander did not continue to eat his dinner. He shifted his plate forward and placed both his hands on the table while looking flat at me. I'm sure he saw Giovano's name on my phone screen.

“You've seen today's news?” giovano asked across the phone.

“Huh? The news? What news?” many confused.

“News about you and Mr. Alexander. You cheated on your fiancee?!”

I paused for a moment, trying to digest what the man had just said. Cheated on? I who was the victim of an affair between Timothee and Lucy, now the guilty party?

I'll call Giovano immediately. I immediately opened my social media account to find out what happened.

There were so many notifications coming into my account. There were so many people who tagged my account and mentioned me for something I didn't know at all.

“What's up?” ask Alexander.

He seemed confused to see me who looked panicked at this moment. But I have no interest in answering his question at the moment.

Both of my eyes widened as soon as I found the main source of the commotion tonight. My pretty bad premonition after seeing Lucy before leaving campus turned out to be true. I cursed that cunning woman in my heart.

“What's up?” ask Alexander again. This time he raised his tone so I could react to his question.

“Lucy do it again,” I said.

“Means?”

I took my eyes off my phone screen and looked straight at her who looked puzzled. I took a deep breath to calm myself down before speaking.

“He took a picture of us as we walked towards the parking lot together. Not only that, he also took pictures when I got into your car and when we were leaving the campus parking lot. Out of nowhere, but he also uploaded a photo of us having dinner this time.”

I took a deep breath back. My emotions really peaked when reading the sentences that accompanied the photos he uploaded just now.

“She also said that it wasn't Timothee who started the affair first but I'm the same as you. He made it seem as if he and Timothee were the most harmed victims here. It's funny how it feels. Though he himself uploaded a photo when he and Timothee spent the night together.”

My teeth chattered. I was really upset half-dead by it.

I rolled my lazy two eyeballs. The man who had been silent about what I said just reacted now. He seems too slow for someone who is predicted to be the successor of JJ Group.

“Now many people are starting to sympathize with them. We have to do everything.”

My words hang in the air. I realized that asking Alexander for help would not necessarily solve the problems I was facing right now. The one who was dragged into this matter was not only Alexander, but his younger brother as well, Timothee. I'm not sure JJ Group will provide any clarification that doesn't hurt me later.

“Already. What am I trying to expect from you?” I said while breathing out a rough breath.

I played my phone and posted my rebuttal to the charges Lucy had brought against me. I can't expect JJ Group to do this to me. I am the only one I can trust and rely on right now.

I laughed and mourned my fate. Alexander's presence by my side didn't help me much. I was even worried about the decision of pulling him to my side at this moment.

“Even after becoming the successor fiance of JJ Group though, my security and my good name are never guaranteed. I don't know who now I can expect other than myself,” I muttered.

“I'll call sekre-“

“No need!” I cut Alexander's words.

There is nothing I can expect from JJ Group. I'm not sure they'll help me with this. Moreover, the two children of JJ Group owners were dragged into this problem. It is not impossible that they will make me fall to save both of them.
