Chapter 39's

Lucy and Timothee's seemingly unkind relationship and Jordan's family's not hiding their dislike of Lucy make me even more curious about the reason they released Lucy and her mother from prison. Moreover, they let him participate in a dinner that was intended to discuss my engagement with Alexander. There's too much weird stuff here.

“Where are you from?” ask Alexander.

The man did not seem to know the commotion that had previously occurred between me, Timothee and Lucy. His expression seemed ordinary.

“From the toilet,” I said.

He just nodded. No more conversations happened between us afterwards.

I actually want to voice the curiosity that has been embedded in my heart ever since. But I doubt he'll give me the answer I want. He never even started a conversation about it.

We walked into the backyard of the Jordan family home and sat in a chair in the backyard. There is a small garden there.

“Why can Lucy be here?” let me reopen the conversation.

Alexander didn't answer my question. He was silent while looking ahead.

I watched her while she waited for her to answer my question. He remained silent for a long time until he finally started to make a sound.

“He and Timothee are engaged.”

“Not you already know?” he asked the man back.

Timothee seemed very frustrated by it. He rubbed his hair and looked irritatedly in any direction.

“Why did you come here?” ask the man again.

One fact I just found out is that Lucy wasn't invited to dinner this time. He came of his own desire. His arrival did not seem to be welcomed by the Jordan family.

“Why?” he asked with a smiling face and half a laugh.

“I will also be a part of this family. Is it wrong if I come to visit during dinner?”

Timothe shook the shoulders of the two girls so badly. His face even flushed with annoyance.

“You've gone crazy?!” The man held his scream.

He seemed to want to swallow Lucy so upset. The relationship between the two seems to be much worse than I thought. Why are they engaged and Jordan's family released the girl and her mother from prison?
