Billing Promises (Again)

Aqua's journey takes Karma to the station. Flirt with a smile on his face. There was sadness in Kana's heart after Aqua's departure. The last question on the riverbank was the end of their conversation. Kana just wants them to remain friends even if they cannot be together as a couple.

The answer about Aqua's statement to Kana was already decided. But, before giving an answer via chat, Kana had to make sure of a few things. Especially about Ruby.

The most powerful reason, Kana rejects the feelings and calls to be Aqua's lover is because of Hoshino Ruby, more precisely Sarina.

Ruby's gaze while looking at Kana was hard to explain. The red thread on her little finger was still pink. It did not turn dark red even though it was next to Aqua.

The nature of Ruby if noticed is getting spoiled. For a twenty-year-old girl, it felt like she was a boy protecting her favorite item. Sometimes the look of dislike he showed Akane, and it was enough to make Kana distrustful.

"Accept!" Aqua went into her house.

The television was still on in the living room, Miyako was cooking dinner in the kitchen. Aqua's steps stopped in her room, staring at Ruby who was already lying on her mattress in pink shorts and a tanktop.

"Okaeri, chan-chan!" greet Ruby with a fluffy smile, she sat at the end of Aqua's bed. Opening his arms wide as if asking for a hug.

"Come back, Ruby.." Aqua said as she placed her big bag on her desk. Unloading a bag full of dirty clothes. "I want to rest."

"I'll sleep with you" Ruby said as she pulled Aqua's blanket.

"It's time for dinner. So, out..." Aqua approached the door of her room, standing there as she opened the door wide. "I hope you know the limits of men and women, Ruby."

"You don't even understand those limits, onii-chan..." Ruby smiled as she approached Aqua. "You slept with Senpai for two nights. You even hugged her while sleeping. So, why are you talking about boundaries themselves?"

Aqua fell silent, observing Ruby's face. She has been silent since she thinks Ruby is Sarina. But, the more she kept quiet, Ruby always charged about their promise first. Even sometimes he did not hesitate to hug Aqua with his minimal clothes. Aqua had already rejected him, but somehow this girl did not understand either.

"On that matter, I plan to marry Kana." Aqua replied with a thin grin.

Ruby's eyes enlarged instantly, her hands immediately hitting the chest of Aqua's field with all her might. His mouth came into a sound, he shouted with a sense of annoyance that filled his heart.

"Married? You must keep your promise!" ruby shouted while pointing at Aqua's face with a red face.

"Come out, we'll talk about it next time." Aqua held back Ruby's hand that was beating her body. He pulled Ruby out of her room. "We'll talk tomorrow" Aqua continued.

Ruby was still shouting and beating the door of Aqua's room with all her might. While Aqua did not care about Ruby's whining. Today she was tired, a four-hour drive from where Kana was to her home.

"Sensei!" ruby shouted as she hit the door harder. "You can't be dating! Married can't be!"

Aqua put her body on the bed. Hearing Miyako who was busy nagging Ruby behind the door. The sound of crying was heard with the clattering of feet away from his room.

Ruby's night was only crying over her who was rejected by Aqua. The sadder she is to hear that Aqua is going to marry Cana. His heart was broken as if broken, hoping only nonsense was said by his brother.

The morning that came quickly brought Ruby's steps back to Aqua's room. At 7 o'clock Aqua usually gets up for a bath, breakfast and sports.

"Where's onii-chan?" ruby asked when she saw Aqua's room was empty at Miyako in the dining room.

"He's out there sporting, maybe he'll be back in a minute." Miyako answered while putting breakfast for the two adopted children. "Ruby.." call Miyako.

The eye bags on Ruby's face look darkened with slightly swollen eyes. Miyako knew Ruby was not doing well, hearing the two adopted children quarrel. It was not usual for Aqua to make her sister cry.

"What's wrong? You can tell me" Miyako said.

"I don't want onii-chan to get married!" sahut Ruby with clenched hands.

"Married?"

"Yes, he said it last night. And will marry senpai!" ruby replied half-screaming. "I don't want to! If onii-chan gets married, who will I live with? And onii-chan is only mine!" Ruby hit the dining table.

"I just want onii-chan with me! Until we get old!" reply Ruby with watery eyes. "Besides onii-chan I have no one else!"

"Ruby's..." Miyako tries to calm Ruby down by hugging her from behind. Gently stroked his head. "Looks good. Aqua is indeed your sister and even your twin brother, but she will also have a family with the people she loves. And you too will, have your own family and be happy."

"But onii-chan promised me to marry me!" Ruby took off Miyako's embrace and immediately went up to the second floor.

"What?" Miyako pecked for a moment, trying to digest Ruby's sentence well. He did not know what was wrong with Ruby.

The two are indeed close even very close, to get the nickname brother complex and sister complex, but if it comes so far, it means something is wrong.

Finished jogging, Aqua returned home. He's been thinking about Ruby since last night. The sentence that came out to marry Kana was her hope, because only with that word could Ruby stop.

But, it turned out wrong. Ruby was already standing in her room with a red face. He forced his way in when Aqua opened the door. Unable to resist Ruby's wishes, Aqua lets Ruby in while the door she leaves open.

"I'm taking your promise! Sensei!" ruby exclaimed, her chest up and down, her eyes already reddened with clenched hands. "You promised!"

"Ruby, uh Sarina-chan..." Aqua approached Ruby. "We can't make that promise, we're twins. And I love you so much as my sister. I'll keep you safe, protect you, and support you."

"I loved you first!" ruby yelled, frustrated. Ruby hopes Aqua reciprocates her love, but the answer is all because of their sister brother. "But I love you first, sensei!" continued Ruby.

Aqua does not want to make Ruby continue to cry, because after all Ruby is the only family she has now. So, it was impossible to scold Ruby and snap at her.

"I liked you first, sensei! I live earlier than Senpai! Why should I lose? You promised to marry me! You promise!" yell Ruby again. "I want you to keep our word!"

With a calm face, Aqua looked back at Ruby. He is trying to understand his condition now. How many times did Aqua tell Ruby the reason, but the girl remained on her stand.

"Well, I reneged on that promise. I'm telling you so you can continue to live your life." Aqua lowered her head, trying to say something honestly. "So, can you forget that promise?"

"No!" ruby shouted with a hand that hit Aqua's chest irritated. "No! Nah! Nah! Promise is promise!"

"Then what do you want?" aqua asked resignedly, her voice softening.

"Stop liking senpai! And marry me!" ruby replied with eyes that kept shedding tears.

"Just beat me up, just hate me. Your request doesn't make sense." Aqua lowered her head. "That's ridiculous, Ruby..."

With a sad face Ruby stopped beating Aqua. Aqua's answer really made her feel even more hurt. Although it has revealed everything, Ruby thought she would feel a little relieved but it was not. He only saw the pain in his brother's eyes.

"You love senpai so much?" ruby asked, her tone sounded even sadder than before.

"Just like you who like me, let's just say that big feeling I give to Kana." Aqua replied in a serious tone. "I struggled to get it and a lot of rejection from it. Many times I say my feelings like you do and she always rejects me."

"It must have hurt" Ruby said. "But, don't you think about my feelings too? I also feel hurt!" 

Aqua shook her head, her mind now filled about Kana, herself and Ruby's relationship. This made his head suddenly dizzy. He wanted to end this conversation without making Ruby look disappointed, sad and angry at him again.

"You're still my sister. And I will continue to love you as my sister. Is that less for you?" aqua asked in a soft tone without wanting to look at Ruby.

"Lack" whispered Ruby very slowly.

"I love Kana, and it makes me feel like my life is better. I can express everything I feel easily." Aqua smiled, her hand stroking Ruby's head. "And when I lived with you from childhood, I realized I wasn't a good brother to you. You make a lot of happiness and warmth for me. I will always protect you. One day, you'll also find someone who's your true love."

"Why!" exclaiming Ruby looked at Aqua who was unable to see her eyes. "I haven't found my true love yet and I'm sure it's you, sensei!" Ruby stepped out of Aqua's room with a red face and a loud sob.

Ruby continued to cry, Aqua's sentence made her unable to hate him. He knew how Aqua had always protected him, even making all of Ruby's dreams come his way.
