Dead Lights

The afternoon sunlight in autumn, with warmer colors and gives a beautiful feel. The air this afternoon was cool and fresh. Aqua was already preparing on the horse court with Ishigami while Kana was playing with the children. After nearly an hour of Aqua learning horseback riding with Ishigami, they finally take a break.

Ishigami offers Aqua a drink. Sweat drenched Aqua's entire body that afternoon. He looks cooler with a sweaty and blushing face. Many times he managed to catch his breath to return to normal. An incredible sensation when the horse he was riding gallantly ran across the racetrack.

"Nicely no?" ask Ishigami.

"Very!" exciting Aqua. "When you can carry a horse while running, it feels great." 

"definitely. You should be more relaxed while riding Black. Looks like Black likes you too."

"But this is my first time. Riding is so fun! I'll give you Black a gift when I get to Tokyo."

"You've been here two weeks, huh?" ishigami asked, Aqua nodded slowly. "It'll be quick if we enjoy it. When will the drama be released?"

"Next year, filming will take place in winter and early next year will begin airing on television."

"There is no tv. So it's hard watching you." Ishigami. "You can call your family in Tokyo? Hard signal, isn't it?"

"Yes, I thought it was mine. It's a hard signal, yeah…."

"Residents here prefer to use the home phone. So, most of them spend time outdoors without a cell phone." Ishigami pulled out his phone. "For some people mobile phones are important as well. Doctor Arima bought a cell phone for himself and Karma who will be studying in Tokyo."

"Did Arima have a cell phone?" ask Aqua.

"Kana-chan you mean?" Aqua nodded. "He doesn't have it, he says it doesn't need it." Ishigami looked at Aqua seriously. "I thought you guys were close enough, you still called him with Arima's greeting?" 

"Not so close either." Aqua replied half-heartedly. 

"You are, sure dong to be a man! Don't hesitate!" Ishigami patted Aqua on the back.

Aqua smiled clumsily. He never tried to call Kana by her first name. He felt he did not know Kana well and felt that he was not close to Cana. Either until when Aqua will continue to call Kana by her last name or by her surname.

The sky tonight is brighter than usual. The full moon was clearly visible in the sky. The air is getting cold. The houses were sealed shut, spending the night inside a warm house. The sound of rural night animals has become their food every day.

Tonight Aqua is already in the Arima family home. Kana prepares a blanket and pillow for Aqua to sleep on the sofa. Previously they had dinner made by Kana who learned to cook from Karma. Although there were some immature vegetables, to appreciate Kana who had tried, Aqua ate them until they were gone.

After dinner, they refocus on their activities. Aqua aimed her phone camera at Kana who was busy writing food recipes to her notebook from scribbled paper. Since then, he has been busy listening to the radio broadcasting about food recipes. Aqua is intrigued to photograph Kana with a cell phone. To him, it was something new and unique from Kana.

"When you can find the recipe on your phone. Don't you have a cell phone, Arima?" ask Aqua finally.

"I'm using the house phone." Kana pointed at the phone table beside Aqua. "In case of emergency you can call my father."

Aqua stared at the house phone beside her, there was a notebook containing a phone number and a pen. Cana stood up and grabbed the note and the pen, thrusting it at Aqua.

"Write your number, I'll keep it" Kana said.

Aqua quickly writes her mobile number in Kana's notebook. Before long Kana grabbed the phone, dialed Aqua's number and called her phone.

"Save it back!" kana smiled as she smiled.

Kana hangs up the phone, returns the phone. He sat down where he was before, focusing on his notebook. While Aqua was busy with her cell phone, the silence of the night was with both people busy with their respective worlds.

The signal in the village is very bad, sometimes the message that Aqua sends new morning until noon, and vice versa. He replies to messages on his phone, replying one by one. I don't know when it will be sent. Messages from Miyako, Ruby, Gotanda and even some production houses are starting to offer new dramas and movies on Aqua for next year.

"A-kun.." call Kana slowly. Aqua looked back at Kana without wanting to respond. "If you want to sleep in Karma's room it doesn't matter. I think tonight's colder than usual."

"Here is enough. I've also got a thick blanket and a warm room." Aqua answered as she grabbed Kana's blanket.

"Sleep, I locked it up" Aqua said.

With a tired face, Kana stepped into her father's room. He slept on the first floor as long as Karma and his father left. Because Kana hasn't dared to sleep alone upstairs.

"Ojimu..." Kana smiled at Aqua before she closed the door of Akino's room.

"Oyasumi," whispered Aqua.

The Arima family home was completely deserted. Aqua, who was getting ready for bed, began to pull her blanket. Find a comfortable position to sleep better.

However, suddenly the sound of an explosion was heard from outside the house accompanied by lights and electricity that suddenly went out. It was dark in the room. Aqua tries to turn on the flashlight from her phone, making light from there. There was a feeling of anxiety suddenly enveloping Aqua.

Aqua quickly stood up, shaking her blankets roughly. Examine the circumstances of Kana, given that Kana is very afraid of the dark after an attempted murder two years ago. Sleeping in Akino's room with the lights on, and now how's it going in the room?

Door creaking slowly. Aqua gave light to Akino's pitch-black room. Aqua stepped into the room, looking for Kana on the bed, but she could not find it. The flashlight from his phone now circulates around Akino's room.

With a trembling body, Kana bent her legs and hugged her tightly in the corner of the room. I heard a soft sound. Aqua tried to stay calm, she did not want Kana to come back screaming from seeing her. With a cell phone shining down on Kana's body, Aqua crouched down in front of Kana. His hand stroked Kana's head gently.

"All is well, Arima..." Aqua tried to comfort Kana. "Let's sleep on the bed. You must be tired."

"Dark."

"I'm carrying a cell phone, I'll make sure it keeps burning so you can sleep well." Aqua's voice sounded soft in Kana's ears.

With a frightened look, Kana raised her head, finding Aqua before her, carrying a cell phone with light towards her. Aqua was smiling looking at Kana. He stuck out his hand. Trying to calm the already pale and trembling girl. Kana just stared at old Aqua, her eyes blank. After a few minutes, Kana grabbed Aqua's hand.

"Let's go to sleep, I won't leave you." Aqua led Cana to the bed.

Still with a pale face, Cana according to Aqua's orders. He put his body on the bed. While Aqua was sitting next to the bed, putting her phone in the drawer next to the bed. Aqua clasped Cana's still trembling hand. Pulling up the blanket, enveloped Kana who was still pale and sweating.

"Relax... You can sleep now." Aqua tried to let out a soft voice as possible, her hand stroking Kana's head while the other hand continued to be tightly grasped by Kana.

There was no reply from Kana, the girl was still trembling despite being enveloped by Aqua. Plus his gaze seemed empty, he seemed to lose himself from fear.

"Sleep... I'm not leaving you. The lights will be on in a minute. There's nothing you need to fear, I'll be with you here." Aqua tried to calm Kana down many times. His hand stroked Kana's head. "Sleep..."

Kana's eyes finally closed, her body trembling disappeared. Cana's hand was so strong, Aqua could not bear to take it off. He rests his back on the back of the bed. With a hand that kept stroking Kana's head gently, calmed the red-haired girl down. Aqua looked at Kana who looked tormented, her brows continuously furrowing unsettled. He closed his eyes, but it was like he was not sleeping.

"What are you dreaming about? Calm down. I won't leave you…." Aqua wiped away the tears that fell from Kana's eyes.

Deja vu. The night Aqua had a nightmare a few years ago, Kana clasped her hand tightly. And this time they swapped places, Cana with her nightmares and Aqua who clasped her hands.

The light snuck in through the window slit, the sound of birds chirping woke Kana from her sleep. Attempting to stare around Akino's room, Kana raised her hand that was tied to someone else's. Last night it was like hearing Aqua's voice when the lights went out, but she didn't know that Aqua was sleeping next to her.

Kana changed her position, looking at Aqua beside her who was sleeping in a sitting position, her head held at the end of the bed rest. Kana took off her hand link with Aqua. He looked at Aqua, feeling guilty having to see Aqua sleeping in an uncomfortable position.

"A-kun..." Kana called out to Aqua slowly. "It's morning..." Kana whispered in Aqua's ear, waking the young man up.

"Is your sleep good?" aqua asked as she stretched her body in front of Cana. The red-haired girl simply nodded her head slowly. Aqua's hand landed back on Kana's head. "You held my hand all night, plus I had to stroke your head so you could sleep well. Am I so comfortable for you?" aqua asked while smiling at Kana.

"That-that's because the lights are off! And it won't happen again!" tukas Kana while getting out of bed. "But... Thanks for your help!" kana continued and immediately came out of Akino's room with a blushing face.

Hearing Kana's sentence just now, Aqua realized Kana was still her old self, though not as bad as she used to be. Unknowingly, Aqua pulled both ends of her lips.
