Something Inside the Drawer

"Where's your date with her?"

Not yet had Kai let go of the jacket, Anggita poked Kai with that question. Anggita put on a curious face that made Kai hiss tired. Kai threw himself into the wooden chair because Anggita was spinning lazily on his mattress. It was her fault for telling the two girls to think of her home as her own.

"If you ask about my dating show with him, then with annoyance I will answer, I FAILED DATING WITH HIM!"

Silent. One second.. two seconds... Raya and Anggita remained silent. They cast a glance at each other, before finally realizing something was happening.

"HUKAHAHA!" Raya and Anggjta laughed out loud, making Kai even more upset.

"You want to take a car, it turns out he failed a date as well." Anggita changed her position to sit, because her stomach suddenly cramps after laughing.

"Because Alana's the same damn guy who is not known by name, I failed to date. Mika shock. Finally, he went straight home." Kai looked up at the ceiling of his room. The two girls were indeed in his room, because in the living room there was an Anggita driver watching television.

"Not known? Who?" He distracts her from the cell phone. His focus is on Kai.

"Gue met Alana's cousin." Kai gave an explanation with his eyes closed tired.

"Keep, what's going on? You got any important information?" Anggita shuffled to get closer to Kai.

Kai shrugged his shoulders. "A lot happened, I got dizzy. Mika is the same. That's why he wants to go straight home."

Angita and Raya throw one another's eyes. They asked each other about what had just happened. However, instead of answering, Kai said that he was sleepy. So, making Raya and Anggita forced to go home with their heads filled with question marks.

"Oh, yes. Tomorrow, we'll see Alana." Kai looked at Raya and Anggita who were about to come out of his room with a gaze that seemed to say no-no-rejection.

"Why what?" Raya still shuddered with something that happened to them after meeting Alana that day.

That day, only Mika escapes from the hospital staff, as Raga drags the girl out. However, not with Raya and Anggita. They must face security interrogation at the hospital. In fact, the hospital threatened to report them to police. So, every memory of the incident makes Raya senewen.

"We need to make sure of something."

"Have you permission to go to Raga?" ask Anggita.

"Whether use all permits? Okay, just calm down. There's me."

After a moment of hesitation, Raya and Anggita finally nodded. Inwardly, they convinced themselves that the threat of the day was merely a bluff from the hospital security. This time there was Kai.

"okay." Anggita and Raya answered simultaneously.

"We'll go back, yeah, Kai. Be well lo." Angita say goodbye, which Kai then replies to with a slightly unkind nod. He did not intend to expel the two friends. Only, right now, he was not being bothered by anyone.

With doubt enveloping her heart, Mika walked slowly closer to Yulia in the middle room. The woman was struggling with a laptop and papers on the table. Looks like a job. Yulia raised her head when she saw Mika standing two steps beside her. He smiled a little, which then made Mika also smile clumsy.

"What's up, Ka? Just got home on a date, pouting?" Yulia asked patiently. Very different from Yulia who was in Mika's life for the past few months.

"Nwg... That, Ma..." Mika scratched her nape. Don't know, how to tell Yulia about Nagra. But now he also needs a place to tell stories. At least, to reduce the pain of Alana.

Yulia frowned. "Why you?"

"But don't be mad, Mama?"

Yulia laughed at the question. "No. Mama is not angry. Why?"

"Nwg... Mama still believes, doesn't she, that Nagra's sister died by suicide?"

The look on Yulia's face that was originally relaxed and friendly, turned stiff. Mika sculpting. Suddenly, his body trembled in fear. If there had been a space-penetrating hole belonging to Doraemon in front of him, he would have already escaped with that thing to avoid Yulia's sharp gaze.

Stupid, Ka. Why should I say it now, anyway. Even to yourself is completely useless. If time could be turned a few seconds back, he would choose to sleep in the room. Instead of coming to Yulia and asking about it.

"From the beginning, I didn't believe it was suicide." Yulia lowered her head. Mika rounded her eyelids.

So, your mom thought about that from the beginning?

"Then, why didn't you ask the police to investigate further?"

Yulia shook her head weakly. "They insist that it was a suicide. So, the case just closed."

Mika fell silent. Weighing, whether he should say about Alana, or not. After arguing with himself, he finally decided to say that.

"Alana's pregnant. Nagra Child. Nagra only found out after Nagra died. Mama accidentally found a flash disk containing the video of Alana's confession."

"But, Ma. It wasn't Nagra's fault. Nagra's sister was framed."

"Guess what you mean?"

"Sir Nagra never did that to Alana." Later, Mika recounts something she heard from the man at the nightclub to Yulia.

"Mika is almost halfway through. Mama and Papa, right, have a friend of the police, can, no, if Mama asked her friend to help Mika?"

Yulia. His face is still pale. It was clear that he was surprised by the story that Mika had just told.

"Later mom try to call him. I hope he helps." Yulia finally spoke, having managed to calm herself down.

The streets are not too crowded. People are still busy rolling around in warm blankets on a cold Sunday morning, or spending time with family at home. However, Anggita's car had already driven along the city's asphalt, with Kai as the driver. Since a few days ago, Anggita and Kai conspired to persuade Anggita's driver to lend them the car. Meanwhile, Anggita's driver is left at Kai's house. Not bad thoughts, but in that house there is nothing to steal and sell. Besides butut television which cost no more than two hundred thousand if sold.

Unlike yesterday, today Kai is driving at a speed that can make asthmatic people suddenly have a heart attack. Mika repeatedly hits the guy's arm, and lets out a snaps whenever Kai performs a sharp maneuver that makes the horn of another rider's car sound long. However, Kai just chuckled. And, casually, said, "Let's not sleep when I'm driving."

Thanks to the way Kai drives that make Mika repeatedly cursed in the car, they arrived at the location in just fifteen minutes— which normally takes forty minutes. Once down from the car, Mika immediately launched an attack by pinning Kai's head, and throwing his frustration, “Luck I did not vomit. Holy hooch! You mabok or trance? Abis diputusin lo, huh?”

Kai laughed amusedly. One hand shut Mika's mouth. Otherwise, the girl would not stop nagging. “Where to break, so it is not yet.” Kai blinked one eye at Mika. Meanwhile, Mika just rolled her eyeballs.

“Code continues yes, Kai. Don't you saggy!” anggita from behind them. Then, followed the laughter of the three of them—except Mika. The girl put on a face pretending to be fed up. Although actually, it was covering his heartbeat.

The hospital area is still empty. Actually, it's still too early to visit. There were only three cars, and several motorcycles in the parking area. Raya and Anggita walk first down the corridor that will take them to Alana's nursery. Behind them, Kai still hasn't let go of his arm lock on Mika's shoulder. The man's attitude was very possessive, making Mika feel rattled.

Raya and Anggita stopped, right in front of a nursery at the end of the corridor. The door of the room was tightly closed, as were the windows. They looked at Kai. Gave a signal for the guy to come in first. The incident when Alana went berserk that day, still imprinted in their memories.

“Ah! You are very cool,” Kai's lips, which are then rewarded by Mika with a pinch on her right arm.

Kai grimaced as he rubbed his right arm. “No can be fierce same as the future husband.”

“Najis, Kai. Fucking!” raya, pretend to vomit.

Kai glanced at Raya, as if saying envy-ya-lo through the look in her eyes. Then, he opened the door in front of him slowly. He peered through the gaps created. And, his gaze fell on Alana who was sleeping on her back to the door. Kai re-stretched his body. Glances at Anggita, Raya, and Mika. “We're in, nih?”

The three girls nodded simultaneously. Kai exhaled a sigh of resignation. After all, one man against three women would be meaningless. Without giving a rebuttal, he opened the door wider. His breath was restrained, as the door let out a deafening creak.

Alana twisting body. Kai flinched, as the girl's eyes fell on him. The girl threw out the glare of my eyes that Kai had never known from an Alana.

“Al,” greet Kai slowly. His steps hesitated to approach the girl.

Alana did not react. Like yesterday, the girl just threw a blank and hollow look. Alana did not even move, as Kai reached out to rub the girl's head.

“Lo how are you? You remember me, right?” Alana did not answer. However, there was a different look in his pair of eyes. The eyes were sparkling, looking more alive than before. “If you forget, I'm Kai. Kainaka Assegaf's. We were once victorious. I'm Nagra's friend Raga.”

Alana did not answer. However, his hand moved slowly. The girl rubbed Kai's face slowly. Unexpectedly, the girl sobbed. Kai looked confused. He turned his gaze to Mika, Raya, and Anggita behind him. Ask for an explanation for the changes that happened to Alana. However, the three of them only shrugged their shoulders while shaking their heads.

They immediately flinched. Alana makes a sound. In the middle of her stuffing, the girl said quietly, “To...long.”

"What's up, Al?" ask Kai, slowly.

"Bec.ni." The stamped speech made Anggita, Raya, Mika, and Kai look at each other.

"Why Beni, Al?"

Alana called Beni's name a few times. The harder, and the harder. Until finally, Alana roared. His hand, which had touched Kai's face, had switched to banging on the edge of the bed.

Kai tries to restrain Alana's movements. However, the girl rebelled even more violently. There was anger emanating in Alana's pair of eyes.

“Beni... kill him.. Nagra!” Alana screaming. Not very clear, but enough to be understood by Anggita, Raya, Mika, and Kai

Not yet had they heard Alana's words, the girl again shouted loudly. This time while banging the drawer on the nightstand. “Kill him! Kill!”

Three nurses walked over to Alana. One of them sends Mika, Anggita, Raya, and Kai out by force. Kai asked the nurse to take something out of the drawer before leaving the room. There was only one thing in the drawer, a white envelope.
