Surprise to Kai

Kai smoked a cigarette deep. Allowing his lungs to fill with smoke that made him cough several times. He hasn't been friends with that thing in a long time. Since Nagra's death, he decided to quit smoking— because of a promise to the guy. But the sense of pressure that surrounded him at this moment, made him try to find an escape. And, the only escape he found was that thing.

Kai's gaze fell on the top of the building trying to reach the sky, opposite him. His mind was completely empty. Just moving like a twig in the middle of the stream. Floating and going with the flow, without knowing the purpose. Amidst the void, suddenly a line of questions arose in his head. How would it feel to fall out of that building? Is Nagra going to save her again, like that day? Or, Mika who will help him out of this terrible emptiness?

*“More away from it, stupid! Lo can fall.” Nagra's impact made him who was at the end of the building turn his head. That day was the day when he knew his mother would marry again. Her parents have been divorced for a long time. But he always hoped they would get back together. Unfortunately, that hope was wiped out along with the news he received this morning.

“Go!” Tandas Kai, without looking at Nagra behind his back.

“OK, if you don't want to stay away from it. I'll see you jump from here.” Instead of leaving, Nagra was sitting sweetly on the floor. Seeing the desperate Kai.

Worry begins to trick Kai. Slowly, he pulled his leg back. He's away from the edge of the building. Behind him, Nagra could not help but smile and feel relieved.

“It's no use jumping from there. You die too, your family will not return like first. At best they were only sad for a week, laughing again at their new family. And, lo dilupain.”

Nagra is fucking. How can the guy say that when he's at his lowest point? But slowly, the remark infiltrated into the recesses of his heart. Makes Kai, inevitably, have to agree to it. There is no guarantee his parents will return, even though he jumped from this building.

Kai cried without a sound. Then Nagra took off the hat he was wearing, and put it on Kai's head. Lowering the front end, covering half of Kai's face. Without even asking Kai knew, Nagra was making her comfortable to cry.*

Kai threw the rest of the cigarette butts onto the floor, and pulverized them with his shoes. The rest of the memories carried his hand to pick up another cigarette butt. Foolish with his blackened lungs. It would be better, if that thing can make him die that second as well.

He had not had time to spend the cigarette so much, suddenly the sound of a door slam was heard behind him. Suddenly, Kai looked back. Samuel walked over from the door with a dead red face.

Without even thinking about something, a single blow was already lodged in his stomach. Kai staggered, and fell on the floor. He doesn't understand. Samuel did not give him a chance to ask. Samuel overlaid Kai's body. Hitting Kai with a punch. Not caring about Kai who was already panting and battered.

*“Although I am not a sister's boyfriend, but we can still find out.”

“Gue nyesel has fallen in love with lo!”*

Goddamnit! Why at a time like this, it was Mika's voice that was ringing in her ears. The look of the girl's upset face, the way the girl smiled, got angry, and laughed. Things that Kai had never imagined would be within his grasp, even for a moment. Things that start this second, will no longer be his. And, that made him very frustrated. In silence, in the midst of his heavy breathing, all he could say was thank you and sorry for the girl.

“Sorry. Because maybe, I've made your life a mess. Thank you, I am ready to be a dream for me.”

“Sam, are you crazy? Kai could die that's how!” satya's screams sounded from the direction of the door.

“This bag deserves to die! He killed my friend. Goddammit! I never should have believed in Lo!” Samuel kicked Kai in the stomach, once again. “Lo pretends to know about Nagra's death. You accused me of killing him. But you killed him yourself!

“We don't know the truth yet, Sam. Not necessarily he's wrong.” Satya tried to calm Samuel down and pulled the guy away. But, failed. Samuel brushed off Satya's hand, and again lunged at Kai. Samuel pulled Kai's uniform collar. Forcing Kai to stand up. Then, reward with a few more blows. Then push Kai's body, until it lands hard on the floor.

“Gue says stop, shit!” Satya could not take it anymore. He landed a blow on Samuel's face, until the man fell. “Gue does not defend Kai. But, you guys are me. I don't want to see you guys fight. I know, you're in the same position as Nagra. I know you're angry, Sam. But, this is no way. You can kill Kai, before this case hits the bright spot!”

Samuel gasping. His hand rubbed the corners of his lips that gave off a salty taste due to Satya's punch. His gaze stared intently at Kai who was already motionless.

Goddamn bum! Samuel cursed in his heart. The desire to finish Kai that second as well, he said. If Satya had not followed him, he would have sent Kai to hell.

Abi came a while later. The look on his face was really panicked, when he saw Kai's condition. “We take Kai to the hospital!”
