RAINBOW is a word that describes beauty. But not for me, in fact, my name is not as beautiful as expected.
I come from a simple family, I have been an orphan since I was 4 years old because both of my parents died in an accident. I lived and was raised by a widow named mbok serly.
Serly mbok and I lived a simple life in a house owned by the late husband mbok serly. Actually there was a house left by my parents but the house was taken over by bi ratna he was the younger brother of my late mother. I'm used to doing housework and often even help mbok serly to make a living. But mbok always told me to focus on learning because the word mbok education is much more important.
Until one day the mbok left me he followed my father and mother. My heart was completely broken because at that time I knew that I was just a kara now. I tried to get up and struggle to live life despite the many joys and sorrows that I would go through but I slalu remember the advice of the mbok "although we are poor in property we should not be poor in morals and knowledge, slalu help others even though we live simply".
After the departure of the mbok I began to make a living alone, every time I went home from school I would offer my energy to the neighbors to become washing workers and cleaners in their homes. Although not much but I am grateful because I am still given the opportunity to live. I sell key chains from beads and then I sell them to my school friends. I did that until I graduated high school. After graduating from high school I did not continue studying anymore because I felt I did not have enough fees. I decided to use the money to migrate to the big city to try the trawlers living there.
After the diploma was out I immediately left for the city to try my luck even though only armed with a high school diploma but I believe I will get a job. Upon my arrival in town I tried to find a place to live first before looking for a job. I found a room that was rented I immediately called the number on the brochure attached to a wall. After agreeing with the owner of the boarding house I walked to the address in question because the distance is not far from where I saw the brochure earlier.
On the way I saw a restaurant that was quite crowded because I was hungry I decided to stop by to fill my stomach. There I saw the servants very friendly and diligent in my heart asking "can I also work here?". When my food was over I immediately headed to the cashier to pay for my food, I inexplicably spontaneously told the cashier "what here needs a worker if there is I want to work, I said spontaneously, but I only have a smk diploma?"
"Wait here mbak I will call the manager" said the cashier while giving me a plastic chair and then passed by his boss room.
I sat in the chair and daydreamed at the face of my mother and father smiling at me until a voice from behind shocked me "good evening miss do you really want to work here?" said a man I thought was the manager of this place.
"right sir I want to apply for a job here" I replied
"then the lady can start work tomorrow at 9 am to start work and 4 pm to go home" then he passed to a table and took a shirt and shoes and handed them to me thanks to "breakfast, lunch, dinner all borne and there's money for the cost of transportation every day"
"Thank you sir" I took the clothes and shoes and then paid them off.
"Sama-sama and please don't call me mister just call my name sir albert" he said again before I left.
"Well that's right, sorry sir albert my name is rainbow, if there's nothing else I beg you say goodbye, Thank you".
All the way home I did not stop smiling and being grateful for all the blessings of God throughout the day. I arrived at the boarding house when it was dusk I immediately cleaned my room and then tidied all my clothes into a small closet that was already available in this room. after feeling all has been done I then clean up and immediately go to sleep so that tomorrow can wake up quickly to start work. Before going to bed I usually pray to God for all his blessings and participation. Don't forget I set the alarm on the phone so I'm not late to wake up tomorrow morning.
Trings......
The sound of alarm on my phone already showed at 6 am, I immediately woke up not forgetting to pray and clean the bed and then take a shower. After all my morning rituals were done I immediately went out and opened the door so that fresh air could enter the room replacing the air that had been stuffy last night. While standing in front of the room I saw a traveling cookie seller I also called him because there was no food I could eat this morning.
"snake... mbak. I want to buy the cake"
with a smile, the baker approached and offered her a bake
"which cake is non?"
because it feels funny called non I then laugh and make the cake seller wonder and ask
"why laugh non, mbak funnyya?"
"no matter what mbak, funny just mbak who called me non. Just call me rainbow mbak'' I replied
then smiling, I bought some cakes that he sold and then passed into the room to take money to pay for the cake. When I came back the cake seller again asked "the new rainbow baby lives here only this time I saw mbak?" I said, "yes, yesterday I moved here, I'm new from the village"
After I paid for the cake, then decided to sell the cake again, I also went into the room for breakfast with the cake I bought and then prepared to go to work. after all the morning routine is done I then leave for work because the time has shown at 8 am and I do not want to be late on the first day of work.
"good morning" I said to everyone who was there and then gave me the sweetest smile I had. "good morning too" they answered with a smile. The first day of work I went through without any obstacles which meant all my friends were helping out if there was anything I didn't know and I was grateful for all that stuff.
When it was time to go home we were given food for us to eat at home and also money for transportation home. We all said thank you and then parted to go back to the rest of the house. Upon arrival in the room I cleaned myself dinner and then went to sleep not forgetting I prayed before going to bed grateful for God's blessings and help throughout the day and hope tomorrow is better than today.
