Are You Happy?

Rainer immediately snorted in annoyance after hearing the mother's words. He did not accept what his mother said.

"Just boy. What the hell does that mean? I was just kissing. I'm not doing anything, Ma." Rainer defended himself.

Mama Rainer piqued her irritated lips. He looked instead at Nayra's still frightened face.

"Is that right, Nay?"

Nayra. He was confused as to what to answer. However, he ventured to answer while nodding his head.

"Yes, Madam." Nayra replied while still bowing her head.

"What's? You still dare to call me 'Miss' after what happened, Nay?!" Mama Rainer's voice sounded a little louder. And, of course, it was enough to make Rainer and Nayra surprised.

Rainer turned to look towards Nayra. He could clearly see Nayra's panicked and frightened face. Rainer looked back at the expression on his mother's face.

"Ma?"

"Why? You want to be mad at Mama, Rain?" Mama Rainer still looks upset.

"It's not so, Ma. It's not all Nayra's fault. It's all my fault. I forced Nayra to do this." Rainer pressed his hand against Nayra's.

Rainer's mama's forehead wrinkled with a sharp eye gaze still unsheathed Rainer.

"What do you mean you forced Nayra to do all this Rain? Don't you think how Nayra feels? Is she happy? Is he depressed? Is he married to you? And, what if Nayra already has a lover out there? Although all this time, Mama has never seen Nayra close to any man, but Mama is sure if Nayra already has her own criteria about her potential partner."

"You can't just coerce people into marrying you like that, Rain. Think about Nayra's feelings too. Have you asked how Nayra feels?"

Rainer was quite surprised after hearing his mother's words. He hadn't thought about that before. When he decides to marry Nayra, his thoughts are on how to prevent Nayra from staying by his side and not being taken away by his family.

Suddenly, panic broke into Rainer's heart. He turned towards Nayra with a worried look.

"Are you not happy to marry me?" ask Rainer suddenly. Nayra turned to Rainer.

Nayra did not have time to answer Rainer's question, the mother had already thrown a sofa pillow at him.

"Slowly are you asking Nayra that question now, Rain. She has already become your wife. Like it or not, he had to take it."

"You're a man, Rain. Don't think that all the decisions you make will be approved by others, especially Nayra. Learn to listen to others. It's your nature like this that pisses Mama off."

Not accepting with the words of the mother, Rainer also spoke again.

"Because you forced her, right?"

Rainer shook his head. "No, Ma. Nayra was not forced. Aren't we?" Rainer turned to look towards Nayra.

Still afraid of mama Rainer, Nayra nodded her head.
