Chapter 34. Live Home

"Saking romantic, there are many stories that don't go on."

Alan frowned at Kansha's words. He did not understand Kansha's intentions.

"meaning?" ask Alan.

Kansha shook her head, "Oh yeah, this bracelet is for me?" kansha asked to switch the conversation.

Alan nodded, "For you. Think of it as a thank you for helping me through the trouble on the island."

"It's not necessary, we both help each other. I didn't do anything that required you to thank me." Kansha replied.

"Then consider it a gift for our reunion" Alan said. Kansha nodded in agreement.

“Kansha.” Suddenly someone called out Kansha's name from behind.

Kansha who was called by her name immediately turned her head as did Alan.

“Kak Reuben?” Kansha was shocked and immediately stood up.

Ruben approached and approached Kansha, who was now standing, followed by Alan.

“Who is he?” ruben pointed at Alan.

“Ah, you guys haven't gotten to know each other yet.” Kansha said trying to calm down. “Sister Ruben, this is Alan, he was the one who was with me when the incident happened.” Alan looked at Ruben and nodded. “Alan, this is Brother Ruben, my elder brother.” Ruben nodded.

“Alan.” Alan stretched out his hand.

“Ruben.” Reuben shook Alan's hand.

Alan and Ruben were still looking at each other with their hands still attached. There seems to be an unusual view of each other. For some reason, the atmosphere became strange.

"I think we've met" said Ruben suddenly.

"Meet?" alan asked confused.

Ruben nodded, "Coffee incident, if you forget."

The Flashback

Ruben was at a cafe near his office. Time showed at ten in the morning and he just had a meeting with his client. While sipping coffee, he coolly studied the case that was given by his client.

"Ruben." greet someone. She's a pretty girl with a white blazer and a tight span skirt. His face was radiant and lovingly looked at Ruben.

Ruben looked up and immediately cursed silently.

"Can I help you, Diana?" ask Ruben formally.

"I just booked a ticket to watch, how about we watch together?" diana asked expectantly.

Ruben smiled formally, "I'm sorry but I can't. I just got a case and I have to learn." Reuben refused.

Diana's face turned cloudy, she frowned dislike of Ruben's rejection. Diana had long liked the Harvard lawyer, but Ruben never hugged her.

"Is there anything else?" ask Ruben. Diana nodded slowly.

"Then I go first." said Ruben. He tidied up his documents and put them in his bag and left.

Diana bit her lips slowly. After that suddenly exclaimed, "Ruben, wait!" diana stopped Ruben's footsteps.

Reuben who heard his name called out a slow sigh then turned to look at Diana. He smiled politely and asked patiently, "What else is it?"

Diana remained silent. He thought hard should he do that again? Last time, he ended up being humiliated for being rejected. This would be the fourth time he would be rejected again. But he likes Ruben. Ruben is an amazing figure, he is great and he is loving. Her warm smile was able to melt the hearts of every woman including Diana herself.

"Ruben, I love you. Will you be my lover?" diana exclaimed in a firm tone. His statement made all cafe visitors suddenly turn their heads towards them.

Ruben looked around, he realized that everyone's attention was already on him and Diana. Reuben was completely inexhaustible, how Diana with her floor said love to him in the crowd.

"Diana, didn't I say I couldn't because I didn't love you" Ruben said calmly.

"You lied. You always said that way. What the hell is less than me? Tell me, so I can fix it the way you want" Diana said. He felt completely dispirited when Ruben rejected him again.

"Nobody is less than you. You are beautiful, educated and dedicated. But I really don't love you. I just think of you as a co-worker."

Diana shook her head loudly. Tears began to flow down her smooth cheeks. "You lied. You love me, don't you? Tell me you love me." demanded Diana. He approached Ruben and shook Ruben's arm.

"I don't love you. I've told you a few times." Reuben said firmly. He started to get caught up with the drama Diana was doing. He had seen similar scenes three times.

"You lied. Is it that hard to love me? I'm not asking you to do anything else. Just say you love me too." ask Diana desperately.

"I really can't." Reuben firmly refused.

"Ruben, ka-"

Diana's words were interrupted by the juice water that someone accidentally spilled into her blazer. Diana gaped at her blazer that changed color to orange.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean it" said the man, who was none other than Alan.

Diana looked at the annoyed Alan who stood up with a look of guilt. Ruben also became speechless when the incident happened.

"You better get back to the office. Your blazers are stained." suggested Ruben. Trying to control the situation.

Diana clucked in annoyance then immediately went out of the cafe. Alan stared at his departure with still a bad look.

"It's okay. Just a small stain, still washable" Ruben stared at Alan's face.

Alan turned to Ruben who was smiling, "So I didn't see the road until I accidentally bumped into your friend and spilled juice on his shirt. Give me my apology for him." Alan chimps.

Ruben nodded, "I want to thank you too" he said.

Alan frowned confused, "Thank you for what?"

"Insiden. If you hadn't spilled it, I would've fucked up with that woman. I'm really caught off guard but too rude to have to resist so hard."

"Ah, so that woman expressed feelings for you? Why refused?"

"Just feel it doesn't fit. But the point is I'm grateful to you."

Drrt

Ruben's phone is vibrating. He checked the message sent to him after that put it back in his suit pocket.

"I still have business. Oh yeah, that juice let me pay. See you." said Ruben.

Flashback Off

"Ah, I just remember now" said Alan.

"When did you meet?" ask Kansha.

"I think about a year ago. You remember Diana who chased me around all the time?" ruben.

Kansha nodded, "I remember. He's pretty shitty. He hit me once because I was picked up by you. She's really a drop-in granny." Kansha's upset. Ruben just chuckled.

"Oh yeah, what were you guys talking about?" ask Ruben.

Kansha and Alan looked at each other making the question mark on Ruben's head even bigger.

"Only old friends talk. It just so happened that Alan had a flight yesterday so we chose to meet." Kansha replied calmly. Alan agreed.

"Ah so." said Ruben a little relieved. "Your conversation is over?"

Kansha nodded while Alan almost shook his head. "Yes already." - Kimpal Kansha fast.

"Then, Kansha please accompany Nana. I'm gonna go to the doctor's room to ask about Nana's condition." Ruben's pinta.

Kansha nodded. "Let's go." take Ruben.

But before leaving, Kansha turned to Alan, "Be careful on the road. Safe flight." Kansha said smiling at Alan.

Alan smiled back, "Thank you. Let me know when I'll be home."

Kansha nodded back. Then it went followed Ruben who exchanged a final smile with Alan.

"Doctor said, how's Nana doing, sister?" kansha asked as soon as Ruben arrived at the ward.

"The conditions are better. The doctor said, Nana can go home tomorrow." replied Ruben.

Kansha and Nana breathed a sigh of relief.

"Oh yeah, once you get out of the hospital, stop all your drinking and never be late to eat again. Your painkillers will also be confiscated" said Kansha firmly.

"So the story is you're gonna watch me?" nana Goda.

"Ah right too, you should be watched. It would be dangerous if you were left alone in the apartment, you better stay with me." bargained Kansha.

Nana shakes her head. "No way."

"Why?" kansha asked confused.

"You're not living in an apartment anymore, and again I'm not used to the existence of your parents, especially Aunt Grace, she is too domineering" said Nana goosebumps.

"My mother is kind and gentle when you're afraid." Nana said grimly." Well then, how about it's only Reuben who lives with Nana?" propose Kansha again.

Nana and Ruben immediately looked over in surprise. They gaped as Kansha suggested a crazy request.

"What's? No way, Kansha. What crazy are you! Why does Reuben have to stay with me?" peekkik Nana's.

"Yes, Nana's a girl and I'm a boy. We have no relationship either." - Ruben.

"I think that's a good idea. Reuben's sister's house is being renovated, and rather than renting an apartment or even staying in a hotel it's better to stay with Nana. And Brother Ruben is the perfect man to watch over the mischievous Nana. Brother Ruben is much more assertive than I am. So Nana can be more supervised, especially brother Ruben is good at cooking. At least for breakfast and dinner, Nana can eat healthy." explains Kansha at length.

"It can't be Kansha. We don't have any relationships and what would people say if an unmarried man lived with a woman who was both unmarried?" rebuttal Ruben.

"How, Na?" kansha asked Nana who had been silent.

Nana looked at Kansha and said, "I'm not too sure. This Indonesia is not America, it will be a problem if we live in the house" said Nana hesitated.

"I know your worries but you're both lucky. And again, if you don't want to be with Brother Ruben then you should stay with me, at Williams' house" Kansha said firmly.

As Nana was about to open her mouth, Ruben interrupted first, "I agree with Kansha's suggestion."

Nana turned her head with a surprised look at Ruben while Kansha smiled happily.

"Reason?" ask Kansha.

"As you said, instead of Nana being left alone I'd better stay with her and watch her. I don't have to rent an apartment anymore. We just simply divide the shopping money and clean up the house. And as for other matters, I might be home in the morning and late at night. Especially at this time, I'm dealing with a big case that allows me to stay longer in the office." Reuben replied.

"But even so big sister can still keep an eye on Nana right?" ask Kansha to make sure.

Ruben nodded confidently. "Just calm down."

Kansha nodded in satisfaction then turned to look at Nana. Nana realizes Kansha's gaze is pointing at her, and asks for her opinion.

"If Brother Ruben agrees, then I have no other choice" said Nana resignedly.

"You still have another choice" said Kansha.

"What?" nana's eyes sparkled.

Kansha smiled slylyly, "Stay with me." replied Kansha casually.

Nana immediately snatched away, "Together with Sister Ruben is much better" he said.

Kansha clapped once then got up, "Alright, the deal is done. Brother Ruben do not hesitate to reprimand Nana. and Nana beware if you keep doing your bad habits. "message Kansha. "The point is you have to look after each other." and realize Kansha added inwardly.
