Chapters 16. Truth

The sound of the waves still slowly wavering. The Banda Sea now looks friendly. The sea breeze blew brought the coolness of the morning. The sound of seagulls still resonates.

Alan turned his head in surprise when he heard Kansha's confession. Alan saw Kansha still in the same position.

“You mean, you had a bad relationship with both your parents, until they kicked you out? Is that?” ask Alan.

“I think it's more than just a bad relationship. From the beginning, I really shouldn't be in the middle of their family.” Tukas Kansha's.

“I don't understand.” Alan's head with a confused look.

Kansha chuckled then turned her gaze to the expanse of the Banda Sea in front of her, “Not to understand. Let alone you, I alone who experienced it also do not really understand. But two years ago, I fully understood.”

“If you want to be a garbage can, I will tell you.” Kansha looked at Alan.

Alan nodded, “I'm the type of person who prefers to listen. So of course don't mind.” Alan chuckled softly.

Kansa smiled and then she looked down. He circled around, finding what he was looking for. A skeleton of a sea shell.

“Everything started because of this.” said Kansha holding the sea shell.

The Flashback

13 Years ago...

The Williams family is now on vacation at a beach on one of the islands they rented in South Korea. Little Kania and little Kansha, the two sisters are very fond of the beach. When Kansha passes the playgroup and Kania goes up to grade 3 of Elementary School, Andrian and Grace decide to take the two daughters on vacation.

Little Kansha loves sea shells. He continued to collect shells that were on the coast. Unwittingly, Kansha was too far from where her parents and her sister played.kansha continued to pick up the sea shells that she stored in her small basket.

At Andrian and Grace's place, they were busy accompanying Kania to play the sand castle. They were unaware of Kansha who had gone too far. Andrian felt something. He stared at the waves that now felt big and strong.

“Ma, the waves are already too big. It was afternoon too. We take the kids back to the inn.” Andrian.

Grace then circled around, where there was only Kania. No Kansha—daughter both, Grace began to panic, and so did Andrian. While Kania who did not understand the situation, just stared innocently at his parents who were now shouting calling his sister's name.

“Kansha!” shouted Andrian.

“Kansha! Where are you?” Grace also screamed.

“Pa, how is this? Kansha--“ Grace panic. She is very worried about her second daughter who is now missing.

“This is all my fault. I should have also been watching Kansha, instead of focusing too much on Kania. Kansha is much more active than Kania” now Grace blames herself.

“Andrian hugged Grace, “Already, not only are you wrong, I was wrong too. Now most importantly, we have to find Kansha's whereabouts. Ma, you take Kania into the inn again. Papa will search for Kania with Kevin.” Andrian's words were immediately embraced by Grace.

Grace then leads Kania back. In the middle of the journey, little Kania turned to her mother who was still struggling. “Ma, Kansha's sister where?” ask Kania.

Grace turns to Kania and aligns herself with the princess, “Adik Kansha still goes to play. Papa again followed by Kansha's sister, let's end the play.” Answer Grace gently. Little Kania just nodded innocently.

“Kansha's sister is naughty once, still playing. kania not invited.” Said Kania pouting.

Grace stroked the gentle mane of her little daughter, “Kansha's sister wasn't naughty. Kansha's sister is just too happy to play, after all you will play together. Can she bring her Barbie doll?” kania nodded.

“Well, shower later. Kania and sister Kansha play together huh!” said Grace gently. Kania nodded back.

Kansha keeps looking for shells. The basket was already full, but Kansha still wanted to keep picking up the clams.

“The story is still a lot. But the basket is full. I'll go back to the inn and bring another basket. I'll take Kania deh.” Kansha Gumam.

Kansha returned to the inn. He is a smart boy, he can memorize everything in a short time and only once see. It was evident he had reached the inn without getting lost.

Kania entered through the side door. He then meets Kania who is playing a doll. Kansha approached her sister. He put a basket full of sea shells.

“Kak, look, Kansha can what?” ask Kansha.

Kania stops the game, then turns to Kansha's basket. Kania's eyes are puffed up, he is amazed by Kansha's basket full of sea shells.

“Adik, you do not invite.” Seru Kania pouted.

“Makanya from it, Kansha want to take the shells again but the basket is full. Kania want to come? There were many tablets just now.” Take Kansha.

Kania nodded and then rose to follow Kansha who had now taken two small baskets. One basket he handed to his brother.

“Come, sis.”

The two sisters continue to pick up shells that are true Kansha said very much. Kania chuckles happily. Kansha. They continue to coolly pick up shells without feeling the night comes greeted by waves that are now rumbling big.

The waves are getting bigger. The tide of the sea is getting faster. As it recedes, Kansha gets closer to the shoreline. Kansha exclaimed happily, her shells growing more and more.

Then there's a tidal sea hitting Kansha. Kansha surprised. He was screaming hysterically. Kania hears Kansha screaming and runs to save her sister.

Kania climbed onto the rocks and reached out to Kansha who was holding the rock. Kansha tried to reach her brother's arm, but the waves increasingly felt dragging her. It took a lot of effort until Kansha managed to reach her brother's arm. But unfortunately, Kania was even interested in Kansha. They drowned into the sea.

The incident was seen by Andrian and Grace who followed her husband. Grace shouted, Andrian and Kevin ran over to Kansha and Kania who were waving their hands for help.

“Please! Uhuk please!” shout Kansha. His breathing grew heavier, he even cried.

Luckily, Kevin immediately pulled Kansha's body and hugged her tightly. Kansha was crying and coughing. Kevin swam close to the shore.

But unfortunately, Andrian did not manage to reach Kania who had been dragged away by the waves. Grace screams bitterly when she doesn't see Kania. Kevin followed Andrian who had gone too far to swim. The waves are very large at this time, Andrian can be dragged by the waves if it forces swimming even further.

Kevin pulled the director's collar and took it to the edge. Andrian had refused, but Kevin still forced to pull Andrian's body drooping limp.

Grace was already squatting on the shore with tears in her eyes. Kansha who was sitting next to him did not understand what was happening. All he knew was that his brother did not see the trunk of his nose.

That night, Andrian orders his men to comb the sea to find his daughter's whereabouts. But until a month of searching, his daughter still never found.

Losing Kania, a hard blow for Andrian especially Grace. And from then on, Andrian and Grace's life changed. Kansha's life has changed.
