Night falls, Kansha and Alan are on their way to Alan's family home. Along the way, Kansha unceasingly exhaled. His hands were clinging to each other in nervousness. Alan who saw her smiled slightly.
“You nervous?” ask her with occasional glances at Kansha.
Kansha nodded.
“Why nervous?” ask Alan.
“How am I not nervous? I'll meet your parents for the first time after we've been in a relationship. This is not an ordinary visit but a visit to ask for blessing.” Answer Kansha with emphasis.
Alan nodded in agreement, “To be honest we will indeed be two against two tonight. But take it easy, you and I have each other. We have to win this fight.”
“Why two against two? Alfin didn't you include?”
Alan chuckles amusedly, “He will definitely give his blessing. Isn't she like a matchmaker for our relationship?”
Kansha nodded with an amused smile, “In the time when you and I were doubting each other because of our own feelings, Alfin was the first to have such strong beliefs about us. I'm happy because without his help, you and I may still be ‘bergeman’ .” Kansha said.
“Yeah, he is indeed my cuckoo brother but cares.” Alan Timpal.
“But, I'm curious about something.” Kansha.
Alan glanced at the girl then asked, “What?”
“Did Alfin do it all purely to unite us or was he involved in a one-sided love that required him to sacrifice?”
“What do you mean?” alan asked not to understand.
Kansha fixed her sitting position then said in a slightly stiff tone, “It could be that she originally liked me but she knew that I liked her sister until—“
“Until he decides to sacrifice his love and unite us so?” sela Alan tickled.
Kansha rubbed her nape embarrassed, “What is wrong?” tanyanya polo's.
Alan laughed loudly until he hit the wheel a few times, “Gosh, you're too imaginative. Such stories exist only in dramas.” Said Alan amused.
“Who said? Potatoes never experienced it so casually stamp it so.” Grunts Kansha.
“Indeed you have experienced it?” ask Alan.
“Of course.” Sahut Kansha fast, “I almost got killed for loving you with pain.” Slowly follow.
“What?” alan asked not to hear Kansha's advanced sentence.
“No.” kansha fast.
“After all Alfin already has his own candidate so he is unlikely to experience the scenario you said earlier.” Said Alan again.
“Really?” kansha was surprised.
Alan nodded, “I think he was a friend during his college. I don't really know but Alfin loves her very much.” Obviously Alan.
“But why have I never once seen Alfin with women?”
Alan momentarily paused to remember about Alfin's story about the woman he loved and said, “If not wrong the woman is continuing her master's education abroad. That's why Alfin hasn't proposed to her because she's prioritizing the dreams of the women she loves.”
“What a lucky woman can make a tough guy like Alfin willingly wait. Alfin is really romantic.” Kansha's comments are envious.
“Do not envy, beside you there are also other tough men.” Said Alan.
“What can you sacrifice for me?” challenge Kansha.
Alan was silent long enough to think, “Anything but you and my faith.” Said firmly.
Kansha could not help her smile.
“But I really can't sacrifice you. I'm willing to wait but not for forever.” Alan is serious.
“I'm not going anywhere. No need to be serious like that.” said Kansha amused.
“Kansha, we won't know what happens to our lives going forward. But I hope, whatever worst-case scenario befalls our lives, I hope you know that I hate to part without explanation.”
Kansha's lip angle lifted, “I hate her too.”
“But you did it once.” argue Alan glanced at Kansha.
Kansha. He then nodded in acknowledgment.
“I did hate him but back then I had to do it. If I don't do it, I don't know what position I am in front of you later.” Kansha.
“I was almost crazy because you left suddenly without explanation. I wonder why you did that. Did I make a mistake? Can we meet again?”
Kansha sighed softly, “But in the end we meet again. I think that's what's called the bond of destiny. No matter how hard I try to avoid each of our meetings, but God's power is always one step ahead. In the end we are indeed destined to meet again even though it looks like an accident.” Bright Kansha.
“And I'm happy with it.” Alan smiled.
Kansha smiled too. They stared for a moment with a smile painted on their happy countenance.
***
Kansha and Alan finally reached their destination. But before entering the house, Kansha first replied to a message that Nana sent a moment ago.
“Say Nana, passion for us.” Said Kansha while showing her phone screen.
Alan read Nana's message in his heart and nodded. “Tell him thank you.” Her request.
Kansha immediately typed in an answer after she finished, she turned off her phone.
“Ready?” alan looked at Kansha.
Kansha exhaled deeply and then nodded.
“Come forward!” said steady.
Alan chuckles a little and then starts walking into the house followed by Kansha.
“Assalamu’alaikum.” Greetings Alan before entering.
“Waalaikum greetings.” Aunt who opened the door. “Eh, Mas Alan and mbaknya have arrived.” Continue with Aunt smiling at Kansha. Kansha smiled back.
“Dad already at home bi?” ask Alan.
Aunty nodded, “Iya, father, mother and Alfin are already in the dining room. Mas alan and Mbak.” aunt stopped her speech. I don't know Kansha's name.
“Kansha.” says Kansha introduces herself.
“Mas Alan and Mbak Kansha just go straight to the dining room said mother.” Continue aunt friendly.
Alan nodded, “Thank you bi.” Said Alan.
Alan and Kansha entered and immediately went to the dining room following aunt. Upon arriving at the dining room, it was seen that Mother and Alfin were sitting on the dining chair as well as Alan's father who was the first time Kansha saw also had sat with great authority in the end seat.
“Assalamualaikum.” Greetings Alan made the attention of the three men lead to him.
“Waalaikum greetings. You guys have arrived?” welcome your mother to stand up to welcome Kansha in her arms.
“Come sit, we have dinner first.” The mother then guided Kansha to sit beside her.
As soon as Kansha sat down, Alfin who was one seat in front of her nodded in greeting. Then Alan is seen sitting in front of Kansha and beside Alfin.
“This.” Father paused his words while glancing at Kansha.
“I Kansha Andara, om.” Kansha said awkwardly. He also did not know what to call Alan's father because he had just met.
“Ah, Kansha. I think I've heard your name.” Said Dad thinking.
Dad nodded his head, “Ah Yes, I remember. How are you?” ask me, Daddy's friendly.
“I'm good, Om. Om yourself how?” ask Kansha politely.
“Alhamdulillah good. It's nice to see you back. I didn't expect you guys to still be on good terms until now.”
Kansha responded with an awkward smile.
Realizing that Kansha is still awkward and embarrassed makes you finally take over.
“We stop talking first Dad. We better eat first.” Mother's speech.
“Sure, no good food that has been served is not directly eaten. Let's eat.” Dad Timpal.
Then the father led the prayer after being invited to start the mother, Alfin and Alan eating. Kansha was silent for a while then started to spoon the rice into her mouth. Their eating atmosphere was silent and there was no talk. It seems like this is the eating custom of those who cannot talk. As a result only the sound of the clanking of spoons and forks was heard.
They look harmonious. Mother who occasionally gives a side dish to the plate of father and father who feed food to mother when they have their own plates. Maybe this is the definition of a Two-Piece.
On the other hand, Alan and Alfin were also eating quietly. Although the eating habits are the same, but the two brothers are different in terms of food tastes. Alan is known to prefer solid food and does not need to always bear fruit. While Alfin on the contrary, the man prefers any fruitful food such as soup that he is now enjoying. But Alfin did not mix it in rice, but left it in another bowl. Although they were different, Alan and Alfin looked handsome while eating.
And Kansha is now starting to overcome her awkwardness and eat quietly. Kansha admits that mother's cooking is delicious. She had not eaten home-cooked meals for a long time, only the last time when her mother came home and cooked for her. After that he more often ordered through go-food even though Kansha himself included a good cook, the fruit of his learning from Bu Sari. Oh yeah, by the way, Miss Sari, Kansha hasn't seen her since she and Alan were last there for lunch.
After thirty minutes had passed, dinner was finally over. Alandra family members went straight to the family room, not least Kansha. Then Alan handed two parcels to mother and father. The gift they bought this afternoon.
“It's a gift from Kansha for dad and mom.” Alan looked at Kansha.
“May you and mom like.” Timpal Kansha was nervous as soon as Dad opened the parcel directly in front of her.
“Wah, what is dad?” ask the mother curious.
Dad opened the box and took the scarf out of the box.
“Why are you giving this?” ask me to look at Kansha.
Kansha was silent for a moment and then started talking, “Kata Alan, om likes a tie but I think if I give a tie gift then my gift is not special anymore because dad already has a lot of tie. I also worry that the color and design will be the same as having om. So I chose a scarf. Om is a pilot for flight routes to Europe, and not infrequently must fly in the winter. So I think giving a scarf is a good idea so that om can wear it when flying later.” Kansha.
“If mother why given a set of tea cups?” ask her with a small smile.
“As well as gifts for mom because mommy likes to make cakes. If Kansha gave the tools to make the cake, surely you already have all. And cake is the right friend to pair with tea. So Kansha hope that when you eat cake while drinking teat with the cup of tea that Kansha bought, you will remember Kansha.” explained Kansha.
Mommy smiles happily, “Thank ya Kansha. Mommy is very happy to get this because you do not have a tea cup set like this. We have tea together sometime.” Mother's words are sincere.
“I also thank you for the gift. God willing the gift will I make the best use of it.” Dad Timpal.
Kansha nodded with a happy smile. She was relieved her gift was well received by both Alan's parents.
“Which for me?” chirps Alfin.
“For you a big thank you.” Alan's reply indifferently made Kansha glance at Alfin amusedly.
Alfin grunted miserably.
“So, what exactly are you coming here for? Alan does not usually bring other women to the house even though Aisyah first.” said Dad seriously.
Kansha glanced at Alan whose owner was staring straight ahead.
“Daddy, bissmilbornirahamanrahim, Alan wants to introduce Kansha as Alan's future wife.” said Alan firmly and boldly.
Kansha took her breath as Alan answered her without further ado. Mother and Alfin also fell silent. While the father looked at Alan with an illegible look.
“What do you have to dare to propose to a woman without our knowledge?” ask me cold.
“Alan apologized for not discussing this first to father and mother but Alan was already convinced by Alan's decision. Kansha is the right woman to accompany the rest of Alan's life.” Alan replied without hesitation.
Father nodded briefly then asked again with his wife who slightly made the atmosphere tense.
“Do you guys have one belief?”
Alan was silent as well as Kansha who felt her heart almost stop beating. He held his breath as the question he was most afraid of sounded in his ears clearly.
“Dad asked once again, did you choose a future wife for your world or for your afterlife?” ask dad again.
“Al-”
“I have different beliefs with Alan, Om.” Sela Kansha cuts Alan's speech.
Alan, mother and Alfin immediately glanced at Kansha with shocked looks. They didn't expect Kansha to be that brave.
“I am a Christian while Alan is a Muslim. I know om will ask this so I said it first.” explained Kansha.
“Alan, describe.” Tell me you ignored Kansha's explanation.
“As Kansha already said, that we have different beliefs. And Alan doesn't mind that. We love each other but we will not interfere in each other's affairs of faith. Kansha may not be a Muslim but she is a good person. He has the heart of an angel.”
“Alan, you know what our family is like, right? Dad did ask you to find a good woman but one thing that is an absolute requirement in asking your candidate, he must be a Muslimah. He's in a struggle with us. He helps you not only for your world but for your afterlife.” Papar Daddy.
Kansha quietly sighed, she already knew what kind of answer that Alan's father was throwing. Mother and Alfin also quietly sighed. They agreed indirectly that the path of Alan and Kansha got blessing from father is still long.
“I know om will say so. However, the issue of belief is still sensitive among us. But I love Alan sincerely, no matter what his background, what beliefs he holds. I just see him as the person I love. Although we will eventually be hindered by our blessing because of our belief, I will still love him.” Bright Kansha.
“Alan apologizes maybe Alan's decision has disappointed Dad. But Alan also loves Kansha for who she is. Alan doesn't care what Kansha believes. In Islam, it is said that Muslim men can still marry non-Muslim women. And Alan had thought this through carefully, that we could still coexist despite our differences. Is it not the difference that unites? But Alan still attaches great importance to the blessing of Alan's parents. As in the hadith mentioned that the riddho of Allah depends on the riddho of the parents and the wrath of Allah depends on the wrath of the parents. Alan left this decision entirely to father and mother.”
Dad was silent for quite a while then sighed softly, “Alan, follow dad.” Said firmly. After saying that father immediately got up and left the living room.
Alan seemed confused and anxious but eventually chose to follow where Dad was going. And in the living room there are only mothers, Kansha and Alfin.
“You dare say that to dad.” Shirt Alfin.
“If not diberan then Om will not see how big my determination.” Tympano Kansha.
“Mother, will father not bless us?” kansha asked looking at the worried mother.
Mother smiled gently, “Pray only yes, son. However, humans can only try, the decision is on the Power.”
Kansha sighed softly, “I'm sorry Kansha's mother made this situation.” her sigh.
Mommy stroking Kansha's hair slowly, “It's not your fault anyway. As Alan said earlier, the name difference is a natural thing. God even created His creatures differently. There is nothing in common except his identity as his being.” Obviously mother.
“But Kansha, have you never thought of converting to Islam?” chirps Alfin curious.
Mother hit Alfin's thigh slowly, warning him who spoke without being filtered.
“Actually Kansha has begun to be interested in Islam. It all started from seeing Alan who was ablution and praying when we were stranded. Alan also explained a lot about Islam to make Kansha little by little start to know him. But.” Kansha did not continue her words.
“It's okay. To convert to Islam, you must enter voluntarily, sincerely and with the intention of Allah. There is no need to be forced and forced because Islam is not so. You must enter into Islam because of your own intentions. Because if not so, then you will be difficult to live it which in the end you even waste your senses as a Muslim.” Mother's speech.
Alfin nodded confirming, “So mu’alaf is difficult. You have to adapt to the teachings of Islam which is certainly very different from the teachings of other religions. Salat for example. Prayer is a mandatory worship and is performed five times a day. And because the law is obligatory then there is no reason any prayer can be abandoned. You may see it yourself when Mas Alan who continues to carry out his obligations even though you are in trouble because of being stranded on a remote island.”
“You were right because of that, I thought how there can be such an interesting religion. When I first met Aisyah, I was very fascinated by her hijab-clad beauty. Though Aisyah was all covered in her clothes but her aura of beauty was radiated. While my mindset at that time was that women were attractive in any style but only this time I felt that hijab women were very beautiful. Even when I see my mother. Mother looks elegant and looks elegant even though mother's clothes are very simple and very covered.” Obviously Kansha while praising mother sincerely.
Mother smiled at him, “It is one of the special women in Islam. God best covered the disgrace and awrah of women in order to make her an honorable and dignified woman. Through the hijab, women are indirectly protected. For example, when he passes when there are a bunch of naughty men, women who dress openly will definitely be tempted a little or not. But the hijab woman? What to tease when even her clothes are covered? And that way makes men finally keep their eyes from the veiled woman.”
“More hijab-wearing women look honorable and graceful. Make any man will be disinclined to him even more so that his personality is good.” Added Alfin.
Kansha nodded in agreement. Mother and Alfin's explanation opened his mind even wider. What they say is true. Kansha had seen it for herself when she and some of her college friends were interns.
At that time there was a group of men who were dressed in plainclothes with piercings here and there and tattoos that covered his entire body. At that time his friend named Andine was a Muslim woman who was dressed very covered with a hijab that dangled to her stomach. He and his friends at that time had to pass through the horde of people because they had to go to the office. At first they are anxious about being teased or peddled because they see some of his former co-workers being teased by them but once he and his friends pass by with Andine, they find themselves, the men remained silent and did not look at them. Either because they are not as universal as expected or indeed because of the presence of Andine.
In the midst of his thoughts, the sound of footsteps coming together sounded. Dad and Alan came up from behind the living room. Kansha instantly became nervous again and gasped when Alan said in a lethargic tone.
“Kansha, forgive me.”
Kansa's heart is pounding. His hunch says something's wrong.
