My husband is not the CEO

My husband is not the CEO
Ninety Two

Caramel has changed into a looser hospital gown, the nurse has also fitted an infusion hose on the back of her left hand since she got to a few hours ago. But Caramel can still move here and there even though Rafka is ready to help him do anything. Of course Caramel is not a person who likes to stay silent for a long time.

The treatment room is quite spacious with two beds, one bed for patients and another for the patient's family. In the middle of the bed there are two baby boxes that have been prepared by the hospital. Even the balloons on one side of the wall had been arranged in such a way as to welcome Pineapple.

Caramel noticed Kayla who was taking out some small boxes from the paper bag. It was a dessert box that was planned to be officially marketed next Sunday after Kayla asked for the opinion of her closest person.

"It's a pity can't go along, bad lu Kay came late." Caramel hit Kayla's back as it came after she had to fast in preparation for surgery.

"Let me rest later for Mama Pineapple whose box is bigger." Kayla patted Caramel's thigh.

"Jane, Rafka, Om and Aunt Cobain." Kayla sees them taking turns including Rafka's mother who is also there. There are three kinds of dessert on the table with various flavors.

"Cobain Pa." Caramel gives Rafka a spoon.

"Oh so now Papa's number one you're not Papa anymore?" The Syndicate of Papa Caramel.

"Oh my goodness, Papa is my number one dong!" Caramel took the spoon back in Rafka's hand and gave it to the father. Instead Caramel gives another spoon to Rafka.

"What a hell is a little boy." Mama Caramel hit the husband's thigh slowly.

Rafka smiled, it doesn't matter if Caramel says he's not number one because a father has first love for a child.

Rafka scoops one pink cake, "tasty." The compliment.

"Enak doang's? no other comments?" Kayla is waiting for another opinion on the cake.

"If according to Auntie this is too sweet chocolate, eat one mouthful already eneg." Mama Caramel made a comment.

"It's better if Kayla uses a slightly bitter chocolate so as not to be too elegant." Mama Rafka agrees.

"Thank you for the input, this means a lot to me." Kayla was pleased to hear honest comments from them. "Jane what do you think?"

"I think the strawberries are delicious, Rafka said."

"Too late?"

"That's a big bag." Jane linked her thumb and index finger to form the letter O on Kayla.

Caramel swallows saliva watching them enjoy the cake. Unfortunately, he soon had to go to the operating room.

"Propay ya." Rafka rubbed Caramel's stomach.

"Miss." Caramel rests her head on Rafka's shoulder. He saw Rafka so voraciously eating sponge cake with strawberry cream on it.

"Is there any coffee?" Jane frowned because the pink cake had a slight taste of coffee.

Simultaneously their attention was shifted to the sound of metal objects falling to make a sound quite loud when touching the marble floor of the room.

Caramel raised her head to see Rafka dropping the spoon. Rafka's face suddenly turned pale and broke out in a cold sweat.

"Why?" Caramel touched Rafka's forehead.

"Lu give coffee to this cake?" Jane turned to point at the cake that had lived half a part.

"Geez I forgot!" Kayla was shocked to remember Rafka was allergic to caffeine and she added coffee grounds to the cake.

Rafka clutched Caramel's arm tightly, feeling her chest so tight that it was hard to breathe like there was no air in the room.

"Rafka Rafka, wake up!" Caramel shook Rafka's body, she saw Rafka close her eyes and had a slight seizure.

Mama Rafka moved no less shocked to see her eldest son suddenly fainted.

"Kay, did I forget Rafka's caffeine allergy?" Jane was surprised, she saw Kayla whose face was starting to turn red.

Kayla was stunned, and she forgot that Rafka had an allergy to caffeine. He stared at Rafka who was unconscious.

"Crazy for Lu!" Caramel cursed at Kayla for forgetting such an important thing. Maybe for some people coffee is just a regular food that does not cause harmful things. But for Rafka, coffee that has high caffeine can threaten his life. "Lu didn't know Rafka could die with that coffee powder!" Her jolt.

"Caramel I forgot." Kayla doesn't know what to say because she forgot about it, "gue's sorry."

Papa Caramel ran out to call the doctor to get Rafka to work.

Soon three nurses brought a push-bed and moved Rafka onto it.

"Doctor, my husband went into anaphylactic shock, this is the third time." Caramel's voice trembled, her eyes wet with tears. He remembered what the doctor said when Rafka experienced similar allergy symptoms that Rafka should not experience anything like that again because his life could not be helped.

"Aware Rafka!" Mama Rafka exclaims to call Rafka's name hoping the boy can open his eyes. Her tears broke because there was no sign that Rafka would be conscious.

Doctors gave her a breathing aid because Rafka looked hard to breathe. The three nurses pushed the bed to take her to one of the rooms to let the doctor handle Rafka.

Caramel ran into Rafka's cold hands, her tears breaking as Rafka did not respond.

"Mom wait outside first." Tell the doctor to Caramel.

Caramel was glued to see Rafka being led into one of the rooms at the end of the corridor. Until the door closed Caramel was still standing in his place. All of this happened so quickly that Caramel suddenly recalled the moment she woke up in the morning and found Arnesh motionless beside her.

Caramel saw Rafka's mother sitting in front of her nursery and sobbing.

"Caramel." Mama Caramel ran over to Caramel, hugging the child to calm her down even though it would not help much.

Caramel sobbed in her mom's arms, "Rafka said she wanted me in Ma's operating room." His cry broke, he could no longer bear the sadness that was constantly befalling him.

Is Caramel destined to always lose? Losing a husband loses his first son. Will God take her husband? nope-no. Who will take care of Pineapple?

"Mama, you are." Mama Caramel rubbed Caramel's hair and kissed her cheek. "Let's sit down." He guided Caramel to sit on one of the chairs located along the corridor.

"Mother Caramel it's time to head to the operating room." A nurse approached Caramel.

"Suster, the infusion's gone." Mama Caramel held the back of Caramel's bloody hand.

"Mother please go up, I'll put up the hose infusion again." The sisters let Caramel get into a wheelchair.

Caramel, helped by her mother in a wheelchair, took her back to the room. Caramel turned once more towards Rafka's glass window, though she could see nothing but the brown curtains covering the window.

"Caramel I'm sorry." Kayla held onto Caramel's shoulder, her body trembling in fear that something unwanted might happen to Rafka.

Caramel was unmoved, now she didn't want to hear anything. His misty look blocked the water that pooled in his eye pelupuk.

A nurse who understood the incident was very concerned but she had to take Caramel to the operating room.

Caramel's obstetrician also walked into the room after hearing that Rafka had a seizure due to an allergy to caffeine. He knew how they struggled to have another child after Arnesh's death. Now Rafka must undergo anaphylactic shock that can take his life at any time.

"I'm sure Mr. Rafka will be fine, having realised he'll see his two adorable babies." The doctor was sitting in a chair near Caramel's bed, he rubbed Caramel's thigh slowly to give peace of mind because if Caramel's blood pressure was high then they could not immediately perform surgery.

*******

Caramel returned to the cold room brightly lit with a large lamp in the middle of the room. He should be happy because he will soon meet the baby he is waiting for his presence. Caramel should smile even though tense because the baby that has only been seen on the USG screen will soon be in front of him. Caramel should be happy because she's going to hug Pineapple. But Caramel's face was flat as several doctors greeted her in the operating room, her gaze blank.

Don't be afraid, there I am

As long as you keep me going

Of course

Caramel slightly averted his eyes when he saw the doctor slashing his stomach with a scalpel through the reflection of the lamp on his stomach, he smiled grimly, Rafka reneged on his promise.

Mama Caramel who replaced Rafka continued to wipe Caramel's hair. He tried to hold back the cries as much as possible so as not to make Caramel sadder. Several times he also kissed Caramel on the forehead. It felt like he wanted to take all of Caramel's suffering just for her.

Caramel could not see clearly what the doctor was doing now on her stomach because it was blocked by a green mosquito net that limited between her lower body and her head. Caramel only saw a lot of blood coming out of her stomach from the reflection of the lamp.

The sound of crying broke the silence in the spacious and bright room after approximately 15 minutes the doctor performed the surgical procedure. Doctors remove the first baby to cry loudly once exposed to the outside air.

"Male." The doctor said after showing the baby to Caramel.

It did not feel Caramel smiling along with the water that melted from his pair of eyes.

"Narr." Caramel Mumbled.

A moment later the second baby was also successfully released, his cry was no less loud like the brother.

"Women, the full package." The doctor gave the baby girl to one of the nurses who was there to be cleaned.

"Rin." Caramel smiled wider.

"Good darling." Mama kissed Caramel's cheek.

The doctor placed Narel over Caramel's chest to feel the warmth of the mother's embrace for the first time.

"Thank you Narel, you're a strong baby." Caramel touched Narel's dense hair. Narel's cries filled the room but slowly calmed down after being in Caramel's arms.

"Who's their name?" Ask mom because from the beginning Caramel and Rafka kept the name Pineapple secret as well as the gender.

"Narel and Binar both have the same meaning of luminous, Rafka who gave them that name."

"See Binar is still crying, surely she also wants to be in your arms."

Caramel hopes their strong cries can wake Rafka up at this time so that her happiness feels complete.

"Everything is healthy and complete." Doctor's talk.

After Narel had calmed down enough, Binar was also placed on Caramel's chest in turn. Caramel kissed the tiny hand of a trembling Binar.

"Mommy hug let it warm." Gently rubbed the back of the light so as to stop crying. All this felt like a dream because Caramel could have two children at once. "Later Papa carry you too, baby." Caramel tried to smile despite being struck by deep sadness because Rafka was not here with her. Caramel is praying that Rafka will be fine at this time.

Pineapple is truly present in the world but why aren't you here, Pa?

Caramel closed his eyes as his vision suddenly blurred, he heard some doctors there calling his name but his eyes were too heavy to open. Caramel's body was like floating without a burden. He wants to sleep for a while and then wakes up with Rafka beside him.
