"Sorry." Caramel clasped Rafka's hand and kissed her many times, she was devastated to see her husband lying limp on the hospital bed. If Caramel hadn't forced Rafka to drink coffee, he would have been fine by now. Regrets always come later.
Danu and Rafka's other two friends have returned to the office to resume work. Danu also said that Rafka had been in the hospital after drinking coffee, which happened about 12 years ago. When they were in 3rd grade High School. Since childhood Rafka never drank coffee, so his allergy to caffeine was known too late.
Rafka took off her breathing apparatus and rubbed the top of Caramel's head, "why are you sorry?" Rafka's voice was hoarse, the doctor said his respiratory tract was swollen due to an allergic reaction to coffee that has a high caffeine content.
"I shouldn't have made you drink coffee."
"It's not your fault." Rafka smiled faintly.
"Rafka, I'm afraid you don't exist." Caramel stammered, her vision blurred in tears. He could not imagine if Rafka was late to be handled, the man would not be helped.
"I exist, I will always accompany you until we age together, happy with our grandchildren." Rafka pulls Caramel into his arms.
Caramel closed her eyes, how guilty she felt about Rafka. Rafka once saved him from the darkness, but now Caramel is wreaking havoc and nearly losing his life. Caramel can't imagine what her life would be like if she lost a loved one a second time.
"Sorry to make Caramel worry." Lirih Rafka's.
No, why the hell are you so good, with circumstances like this still apologizing.
This incident reminds Rafka of the first time she got an allergy. At that time Rafka and Danu followed Caramel and his two best friends, Jane and Kayla to a coffee place that is quite popular among young people.
Danu never refused to be invited to follow Caramel, all he was dating with his bluff at that time. Rafka is willing to buy them anyway.
"Si Caramel pesen americano, gih message also." Bisik Danu's.
Without waiting for the order for the second time, Rafka immediately ordered the americano while Danu and Silvia, the gebetannya ordered ice coffee latte.
Rafka sees Caramel from a distance, three tables away, he can still hear the crisp laughter of Caramel and his two best friends. Rafka sipped his coffee just like Caramel did.
"Absolutely gulp straight abis, base no gaul you." Cibir Danu saw Rafka's glass was empty.
"I'm thirsty." Sahut Rafka's.
About 30 minutes later, Caramel stepped out of his seat.
"Caramel's out already." Danu's line of sight followed Caramel out of the coffee shop followed by his two best friends.
Rafka can still see Caramel riding on the bike with Jane.
"Why did he ride the bike, his thighs became visible." Rafka muttered while turning his face. "Let's go home too." Rafka moved from her seat.
"I'm coming along." Danu is moving.
"Who am I going home with?" Silvia pointed to herself and looked at the two glass frappuccinos that were still half left.
"You get back on the bus, yeah, I'm riding Rafka because." Danu nyengir followed Rafka, as a playboy cap anchovy he is indeed rarely capital.
"Gee!" Rafka held her neck which felt like it was strangled.
"Why Ka?" Danu stop riding on Rafka motorbike.
"Well, how hard to breath." Rafka loosened his tie to allow him to breathe more freely but it did not produce anything.
"Well, why are you!" Danu shook Rafka's body, she could see the change in look on her best friend's face. Even Rafka's lips were bluish in color, Danu directly raised Rafka's tall body to her back.
"Arghhai!" Rafka felt his neck was now completely suffocated, there was no air he could breathe.
"Rafka, Rafka! you why?" Caramel shook Rafka's body and put the breathing apparatus that had been removed.
Rafka awakens, apparently her memory just now is a dream and feels up to the real world. Rafka tried to calm herself down and took a slow breath.
"I called the doctor." Caramel was about to get out of her seat but Rafka held her hand.
"Here you go, I don't want you to go." Lirih Rafka, if Caramel left her when she first learned of her caffeine allergy this time she wouldn't let it happen again. Rafka wants the woman to always be by his side.
Caramel let out a long sigh, he clasped Rafka's cold hand.
"Don't call Mama, I don't want to worry her."
Caramel nodded, he had not contacted anyone because he was too surprised to not have time to do so.
"The doctor says your airway is swollen so you have to wear this, don't take it off again." Caramel reminded.
"What if I want to kiss you?"
"For a while I kissed." Caramel smiled, slowly he moved to kiss Rafka's forehead for a very long time. "Cheal soon, dear." Mumbled.
Rafka's blood flowed quickly hearing Caramel calling him dear. Rafka opened her eyes as Caramel took off her kiss.
"I didn't know you were following me to Starbuck High School." Caramel looked at the shade of her husband who remained handsome even as pale as that.
"And you tell me everything?" Rafka had expected that Danu would tell Caramel about the incident.
"I was stupid to not see you at all." Caramel smiled blandly, why could he not see a few men who truly loved him. It seems that until now Caramel does not believe that Rafka has put his heart since they were in High School, 12 years ago. Rafka is really resistant to keep the taste as long as it is.
"Why have you never appeared in front of me, why are you secretly following me?"
"Because there is Rama every time I come to you."
Caramel closed her eyes together with the clear crystal dripping down her cheek, which must have been very painful all along for Rafka. Harboring the taste is not an easy thing, it is like embers that can hurt you slowly. Loving silently will slowly erode you and leave you helpless.
"Why am I wasting this handsome guy." Caramel smiled, she wiped the tears that hit her lips.
"I'm a coward for never daring to express feelings."
"I'm glad I belong to you now."
"God is so good to me." Rafka stroked Caramel's hair, which was now broken like never before when she first came here.
"It turns out you I knew long before the match."
Rafka nodded faintly, "yes, the world knows that I don't dare to express love until it's a match."
"When that time turns out I refuse you how?"
"I will be single until the opportunity of life is no longer there for me."
"Why are you so easy to give up on fate, why don't you come when I'm out of wedlock at least you can entertain me."
"You're wrong" Caramel confirmed Rafka's blanket exposed on the leg. "I'm happy to know you."
"Thank God, you want to sleep here?" Rafka patted the bed.
"Empt enough?"
"Why not enough, you're skinny."
Caramel smiled broadly, apparently Rafka knew how to make his wife happy by saying he was thin even though he never exercised. Caramel climbed into the bed and lay beside Rafka cautiously afraid of the infusion hose and ventilator.
"It turns out the bed is quite large." Caramel placed her head on Rafka's arm comfortably. Although not as large as a bedroom bed but also good for both of them to sleep.
******
Caramel's phone ringtone sounded loud enough to make the two lovebirds who were sleeping soundly was forced to wake up. Caramel fumbles on the nightstand next to the bed and answers the phone without seeing the caller first.
"Car, Kayla wants to mingle."
"Kaila?" Caramel immediately opened his eyes and closed his mouth with his hands because he realized he had spoken too loudly, he just remembered that this was not an apartment but a hospital.
"Yes, I'm again in Citra Medika, still mules."
"Gue's here too."
"Well, what are you doing?"
"Rafka's in the hospital, if so I'll be there."
"What's Rafka hurting?"
"I'll be telling a story." Caramel disconnected and put her phone back where it was.
"What's wrong?" Rafka's heavy voice shocked Caramel. The woman thought that her husband was still sleeping.
"You awake? I'm sorry I'm so pissed about that."
"I'm awake already."
"Kayla wants to worry, he said, it's in this hospital too." Caramel got up from a sleeping position, she pinched her hair carelessly. "Eh, there's lunch for you, I'm bribing ya." He got off the bed.
"Are your clothes comfortable?" Rafka saw the sponge skirt that Caramel was wearing with a light blue shirt.
"Why?" Caramel saw Rafka, he opened the plastic lid that protects Rafka's food in the form of porridge with pieces of carrots and chickpeas, it looks like baby food.
"You can go home to get some clothes."
"I want to go to your office and take the car home, are you okay alone?"
Rafka opened her mouth to welcome a spoonful of rice with a chicken from Caramel's hand.
"But you have to be careful."
"Yes, I stopped by for a minute to see Kayla."
Rafka nodded.
"Disn't the food good?" Caramel asked, seeing Rafka eating slowly he suspected the porridge was not too good.
"More delicious than your cooking."
"Later I'll make you feel good after coming home from here." Caramel regretted just making fried chicken every morning, he should have a more varied meal.
However, Rafka never protested against Caramel cuisine. That made Caramel feel guilty.
Caramel draped her sling bag after wearing a work coat. Before going out, he first kissed Rafka's forehead long enough. Caramel will be back as soon as possible, he can't leave Rafka alone here.
Caramel does not use footwear, he prefers high heels. His feet stepped until he reached a special place of childbirth. Her eyes focused on finding Kayla's room, this was not the first time Caramel had witnessed a mother about to give birth, but every time it happened she had a tense following.
"That's it." Caramel quickened her steps into one of the rooms where Jane was also accompanying Kayla.
"Where are you from, like a padlock like that?" Spray Jane Caramel walking barefoot and disheveled hair.
"Rafka went to the hospital, I almost lost her." Caramel was sitting on the sofa, she saw Kayla grimacing in pain while clutching her husband's shirt.
"Why him?" Kayla asked, apparently despite being in pain she still had time to listen to Caramel's story.
"Gue just found out he's allergic to coffee."
"Well, you guys have a big difference." Jane's dramatic prankster, she knows Caramel is a true coffee lover.
"Ouch!" Kayla grabbed her husband's hair until the man complained.
Caramel grimaced, horrified to imagine if he was in Kayla's position. Accidentally touching the hot pot, Caramel screamed, let alone stroking the baby.
"Why your face, just calm down soon you'll also be Kayla." Jane said.
"Don't that dong, it'll be my parno."
"It hurts more than you shadow, all this time if you are PMS, the pain is even ten times that."
"Eh, don't be rude." Caramel pointed at Jane annoyed.
"L don't believe the same experienced."
"I'll be crying out." Caramel folds her hands in front of her chest.
"Samely, you're going to lose the contraction as well in the end."
"Yes I'll cesarean before nine months." Caramel raised both eyebrows pretending to be confident when in her heart she was very afraid to imagine what it was like to give birth. "Udah ah I'm back first." It's up.
"Lu don't want me to car?" Ask Kayla.
"My husband is alone, when the baby is born I'm here again."
