The Dowager Duchess of Claymore ate in silence with her daughter-in-law that night. Inwardly scolded his eldest son for coming late to pick up his wife, who was now increasingly sad and lost.
When Hanna arrived two weeks ago and asked if she could stay here until Alex had time to reflect on everything and come pick up.
Margaretha Claymore thought she wanted to push, even forcing Hanna to return to her husband's side, where Hanna was supposed to be.
But there was something in Hanna's wounded, determined expression that reminded the dowager of herself years ago, the memory of Alex's father walking across Margaretha's parents' living room, where he found his wife after she disappeared for four days. "Quick into the train" said Alex's father at that time firmly and chin raised. However, seeing Margaretha flinch, Alex's father continued, "I beg you, Margaretha."
Margaret smiled remembering that. It turns out that the fruit will not fall far from the tree. But Hanna's been here for two weeks, and Alex hasn't made the slightest effort to come pick up. Lady Claymore wanted a grandchild and that hope would not come true if the two haughty, stubborn youngsters lived apart miles away.
Really, this whole thing is ridiculous. No two people love each other as much as they do.
While enjoying the dessert, an idea sprang to the mind of the dowager duchess that made the woman almost get up from the chair. Later, the dowager sent Stephen a letter in London that night to come visit him early in the morning.

"The problem is" the dowager told Stephen, who was frowning but somewhat amused the next day when he met his youngest son in person. "I'm not sure Alex knew Hanna was here. So how could Alex come to get Hanna."
Stephen did not know about the quarrel, turning a dirty smile towards his mother. "Darling, it reminds me of a story I've heard about Mom and Dad."
The Dowager Duchess flashed a denouncing look at her desensitized son and continued, "I want you to look for Alex. I think he lives at home in London. But find him tonight if you can. Then give me the 'hint' that Hanna's here with me, as if you think she must know. Oh, don't let him think he's being forced to come get Hanna. If it's that situation, I'm sure Hanna will resist Alex's half-hearted attempts to make up."
"Why don't I bring Hanna back to London with me now and create rumors that I'm crazy about her? that must have made Alex very angry" said Stephen with a big smile.
"Stephen, don't mess around. Its serious. I need you to say this.."

At seven o'clock that night, Alex sat in a chair at his club. He was a little surprised when he looked up from the card and found his sister sitting in front of him, was piling up pieces and preparing to come to play.
Alex looked at Stephen with some misgivings. He doesn't want Stephen to ask about Hanna because he himself can't explain that he has 'Lost' his wife, just as he can't tell Stephen about their strained relationship. So, Alex was relieved when Stephen opened the chat with, "Are you losing or winning tonight, Your Grace?"
"He made us poor" said Marcus Rutherford. "Not lost once in the last hour."
"You look terrible, brother," Stephen commented with a big smile.
"Thank you" said Alex flatly as he threw the pieces into the high pile in the middle of the table. Alex was in that game and the next two games.
"It's nice to meet you, Claymore," said Lord Dustwin, glancing at the duke who had suddenly left when they last played cards here.
Lord Dustwin was politely about to ask the young duchess, but the last time Lord Dustwin said seeing the woman at Wilson's party, Lord Dustwin triggered a quarrel, so he thought it best not to offend the duchess at all. "Does I object to joining?" lord Dustwin asked the duke.
"He doesn't mind at all" Stephen said when Alex didn't hear Lord Dustwin. "He's very willing to take your money with someone else's money."
Alex glared at his sister. He can't stay home if he doesn't want his anxiety to drive him crazy. But Stephen's carefree chat with others made Alex nervous, even though he had only played for an hour.
Alex was about to invite Stephen home for a more appropriate hangover with his current mood. However, that intention stopped when Stephen casually said, "I didn't expect you to be here. I thought you were going to attend a little party mom held for our relatives tonight."
After successfully showing the attitude of a man who had just said something that should not have been said, Stephen shook his head and added in an apologetic tone. "Sorry, Lex. I forgot because Hanna lives with Mom and it's only natural that if she's planning to attend a party, you won't be there to enjoy the party together either..."
The Duke stood up. He stood there, looking down at his sister with various feelings between disbelief, amazement and something else.
Then, without picking up the pile of pieces of victory marks, or politely saying goodbye to anyone, the duke turned around and walked to the door with wide, determined strides.
"Oh, jeez!" lord Dustwin said to Stephen as they both observed Alex moving away. "You're looking for trouble! I should have told you, your sister doesn't like her duchess to attend parties without her."
"Indeed," Stephen confirmed with a wide smile. "I don't think he likes it."

The trip to the Grand Oak, which usually takes four hours, is within three hours and a half of the front door of Alex's club.
"Hanna lives with my mom! With my mom, for God's sake!" inner Alex. The only person who should be wise enough to send his wife back to the man. Alex's own mother has conspired to put Alex in this torment!
The train stops in front of the dowager duchess's house, and Alex remembers Stephen saying there will be a party tonight. Alex doesn't want to see relatives, he wants to see his wife. And Alex didn't bring any official clothes, didn't even think about stopping by the house to change, and Alex wouldn't do it even if he thought about it.
She desperately wants to confront her mother and her betrayal before she goes in search of Hanna. Alex was tempted, but did not do it.
"Good night, Your Grace," said the family butler.
"Fuck up!" alex said as he walked past the surprised waiter towards the crowded sitting room. It seems like all of Alex's relatives are in the room, but Hanna is not there.
Alex looked at his mother, and as the dowager duchess walked over with a cheerful smile, Alex paused to throw a displeased look at the woman until the dowager duchess stopped.
Alex turned and walked up to the main stairs. "Where's my wife?" sue Alex to the waiter in the upper corridor.
Alex hesitated for a moment outside the intended door, his hand holding the door handle from Kuningan, heart jerking in relief as well as fear. He did not know how Hanna would react when she saw him, not knowing what to say to the woman.
But back then, the most important thing was to be able to see Hanna and satisfy her eyes by looking at the woman.
Alex opened the door and stepped in without a sound, then closed the door. Hanna was soaking in a big Brass tub and turned her back on the room.
Hanna's personal servant stood behind the woman, holding soap and cloth. Stunned, Alex just flinched there.
Alex wants to come over and pull Hanna, who is wet in her arms, attach Hanna's body to her, hold Hanna to the bed and immerse herself in her body.
And at the same time, Alex feels he has no right to talk to Hanna, let alone touch her.
He is worthless. Already twice, Alex treated Hanna very harshly, which Alex herself did not expect to do.
Good Lord! Hanna was carrying her child in the woman's womb, but not once did Alex ask how Hanna felt.
Mery looked up, aware of Alex's presence. Seeing Alex roll up his shirt sleeves while walking into the bathtub. Mery opens his mouth with the intention of greeting his employer, but Alex asks him to shut up, and requests that the maid hand over the soap and cloth to Alex and leave the room quietly.
Very gently, Alex soaked Hanna's back, taking care to keep her touch light and her hands out of sight.
"It feels good, Mery," muttered Hanna as she leaned forward and soaped her legs. Usually Mery leaves Hanna to bathe alone, but lately Hanna is so anxious and worried that she does not suspect this unusual attention of her 'Mery'.
