CPTR IX: The Past That Comes Back

Mona and Sherly leave the apartment at exactly 8 p.m. The two drive to a family restaurant downtown to attend their high school reunion party. Arriving there Sherly excitedly got out of the car first and stared around in excitement.

The two entered the restaurant and walked to the backyard where the long hanging lights hung in the night sky above them. Garden grass with a special aroma spreads all over the surface.

Dozens of joking adult men and women released kangen, accompanied by relaxing music and bartender attractions playing bottles of drinks. Mona and Sherly quickly recognize the people here. Friends during his High School look so mature now, far from the word childish as it was 5 years ago.

Some come in casual wear while others have to come in their full-service uniforms. A man with a big smile noticed the whereabouts of Mona and Sherly and immediately said, “Eh the twins came!”

Mona and Sherly look at each other. They haven't heard that long. Because living at home and everywhere always together finally they are nicknamed the twins. All eyes were quickly fixed on the two newcomers.

A group of women immediately ran up to them, hugging and kissing, it was their friends hanging out when they were in High School. They took Mona to a long table and sat her there.

The two are offered a meal which Sherly quickly accepts while Mona simply asks for water. They quickly put an ear to the story of Sherly's adventures on tropical islands in eastern Indonesia.

While the others are busy hearing Sherly's story, Mona's eyes quickly catch the figure she always avoids. At first he thought it was all an illusion of a night of work fatigue, but after he blinked a few times he knew it was all real.

Mona quickly squeezes Sherly's thigh and wiggles it.

Sherly looked at Mona and realized that her cousin's face was pale like an undead. Sherly follows Mona's gaze and realizes that Ethan is looking here and there looking for Mona.

Coinciding with that all of a sudden Ethan finds them. He walked towards Mona. Mona hurriedly threw away her face then whispered to Sherly, “What the hell?! Said he was in Berlin!”

“Gor! He himself said that time!”

“Ah how the hell lo..”

“Mona?”

The soft voice that mentioned Mona's name made the two whispers shocked in shock. They looked back and found Ethan standing there. Mona gulped and fell silent.

“Eh, Ethan! I thought you were still in Berlin?” ask one of the women who's been talking to Sherly since.

Ethan nods small, “Gue new until how many hours ago this.”

“Wah intentions are great. Wait, don't-don't you just come here to see Mona? Ah, sweet really lo!”

Mona was still throwing her face at a loss as to what to do.

Ethan suddenly turned serious and said, “Mon, can you talk?”

The women who heard it instantly teased, “Ciee CLBK-an!”

Mona is silent and turns her back on Ethan. Mona looks at Sherly deeply who shakes a sign she doesn't want Mona to go with Ethan. But Mona knew she had to face her fears. Had to face his past.

He turned to look at Ethan then got up from his chair.

Ethan pulls Mona's hand and takes her away. Mona just followed. Seeing all this, Sherly just shook her head slowly. Sherly never knew what happened to the two at the graduation party.

Which Sherly knows they left in the middle of the party and Mona didn't come home that night. The rest he was no longer because he was too drunk that night.

Ethan takes Mona to the quietest corner and lets go of her grasp. Now the two of them stand facing each other to solve all of this for good.

Mona just nodded small.

“We are still victorious, ‘kan?”

Mona looked at Ethan in disbelief, then lowered her head again. “Gue don't know.”

“Gue…. Apologize about that night.”

Mona nodded small once more. His feelings began to rouse and he became reminded of all the events of that night.

“Honestly I didn't mean anything at first. Just yes...”.

“What you did that night was really evil.”

“Iya, I know that's why I want to apologize. But you never gave me a chance. Lo block my social media account, never want to pick up the phone, even fitting me to the house you instead tell Sherly ngusir me. How do I want to try it?”

Hearing the tone of blame that Ethan tried to tuck in, Mona went black. He looked at Ethan sharply then said in a tone up an octave, “So you salahin me now?”

“Not so...”

“Lo know how destroyed my world was that night? The only person I could tell about my life problems and you ruined me like that. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I want to see you again, Ethan.”

“Mon, horrified first, we were both drunk that night, so naturally dong if the result is so.”

“Hah?! Drunken up? I had a drunken feeling that night! I remember very well you gotong me into the hotel room so do not be careless!”

Ethan scratches the back of his head that is not at all itchy and tries to find a defense.

But Mona, who remembers everything that night, will never forget or forgive Ethan. She always believed in Ethan, she never doubted him. But what Ethan did to her was the worst thing a friend could do.

Monamenghela long breath. His heart ached and black clouds began to veil his head. His confidence was washed away with all the rest of the heartache that continued to flow like a river. But he forced himself to be strong.

“Sorry.” says Ethan once again.

Mona looked at Ethan deeply. It seems obvious his regrets but Mona never gave a second chance. Mona snorts and walks away from Ethan. Ethan keeps calling out to her but Mona has already shed her tears and she doesn't want to be seen in these circumstances.

Mona walked into the restaurant and walked to the exit and finally returned to the parking lot. The night air was so soothing. Mona hurriedly wiped away her tears. He hasn't cried like this in a long time.

Mona looked at the starless night sky. He feels weird. Somehow she always wished her first time doing that was with a handsome husband who loved her. Not an Ethan. He really likes Ethan. Too like it. But that doesn't mean he wants Ethan to take his virginity like that.

Mona laughed again. He finds it funny how much he hates Ethan who only did it once to him but is used to the Gama games they have done so many times.

Mona let out a long sigh lamenting her miserable life.

“Already expected, this silver sedan car must be yours. Even though I only drove it once I never forgot how she felt. What are you doing here alone?”

Mona turned to look at the figure. He was puffed and looked confused. He unwittingly smiled widely with Devin's figure suddenly appearing in front of him.
