CPTR XIII: He Who Is So Sudden
After a night of rain, a cold wind blew from the top of the hill and the ground started to dry up, leaving a fresh sensation of cold air in the morning.
A cool breeze entered the room through a small crack in the balcony, swaying the gray curtain of her room. A thumping headache wakes Mona from her sleep. He opened his heavy eyes and lifted his entire aching body down from the mattress.
Mona held her twitching head while glancing at the clock that was showing now at 9am. Mona walks into the bathroom and sees that Sherly's living room is still locked.
After taking a shower and getting ready Mona poured the cereal into her glass and gulped it down with white milk. Unlabile but efficient way. After her stomach filled a little Mona who was still staggering due to the hangover walked around looking for her car keys.
Failing to find the key, Mona goes to the lobby and takes a taxi. Arriving at Mona's office went straight to her room with a dizzy head. Mona sat on her velvet chair and stared at the desktop screen lazily. I don't want him to work again either.

At lunch time Mona still felt dizzy. He went back and forth twice to the bathroom to vomit. Mona leaned her back on the velvet chair while looking at the ceiling of her study.
Suddenly someone knocked, Mona glanced at the door and after the door opened it was Devin. Mona hurriedly got up from her seat and stood up clumsily.
“Hai, you didn't have lunch?” devin asked with a smile.
“Ah, I'm not hungry anymore..”.
“So, yes. Then will I eat? I still don't memorize the way around here.”
Mona hesitates for a moment but finally agrees. The two went down to the lobby and Devin said he was looking for a restaurant nearby. Mona takes him to a restaurant closest to the office.
During the trip there under the scorching sun, Mona's dizzy head throbbed even more intensely. His body was reminiscent and he could feel his black shirt becoming uncomfortable. Upon their arrival there a waitress in a black uniform greeted and drove them to the corner table.
“Can I record the order?”
“I order hot soup one. Maybe salty thick soup.” said Devin without opening the menu book.
“Good. If for, then?”
Mona nodded slowly.
The waiter immediately left.
“You still have to work right after this?” ask Devin.
“Yes, but not much else. I'll probably go home after this. You can be here yourself?”
“I'm free and I want to see you. Not what, ‘kan?”
Mona blushed then nodded small.
Devin glanced at Mona's hand, “His wound seems to have improved.”
“Yes, still a bit sore if hit by water but at least not infection.”
“You must be careful.”
“Yes, I have been a bit rash lately.”
“Many thoughts?”
“Yah.”
“Craftsmanship?”
“Slightly, just a problem does not make sense.”
“I like unreasonable problems.”
Mona laughed when she heard it. The two continued to chat until finally the requested soup was served on the table. Devin stirred the soup, added a little pepper and lifted the spoon in front of Mona.
“What's up?” ask Mona confused.
“Try tasting.”
Mona did what Devin asked. Devin smiled then asked, “How does it feel?”
“Pretty good.”
Devin stirred his soup again and filled his spoon again this time to the brim and thrust it at Mona once more.
“Why else?”
“Try again.”
Mona stares suspiciously, “You no longer poison me, ‘kan?”
“Haha if you want I have some in the car.”
Mona smiled and devoured the soup. He said with a full mouth, “Sup is delicious.”
Devin suddenly thrusts his soup bowl at Mona. “Eat then.”
“Heh? But?”
“I know your head is dizzy so I ordered soup. Excuse mbak!”
The waitress who was back at their table, “Iya, sir?”
“Sure, sir. Fresh or salty water fish?”
“Whichever is important the bones are not much.”
“Good, drink maybe?”
“Teh hot for this mbak and I ask plain water.”
The waiter nodded then immediately turned around.
Mona looked at Devin with probing eyes.
Devin laughed and said, “Eat only. If it doesn't end I spend.”
“Eat you a lot too.”
“I need extra energy for our event after this.”
“Our way?”
“Yeah, let's go to the amusement park after this. You said you wanted to go home after this.”
“Lah? Don't you have a job to do?”
“My assistant will work on it.”
Mona looked at Devin in disbelief. How this guy manipulated her into eating and now taking her on an impromptu date makes it seem a little hard to predict. Mona's view of Devin is he's just a rich man from a distinguished family.
Obey his parents and be kind. But after seeing Devin's side that was so tenacious in influencing others made Mona a little shocked. He had never really met someone who so easily influenced him.
Mona sipped her soup in silence. She knew deep down her little heart grew a curious feeling towards the man in front of her. He's different.
“Do you have a boyfriend?” asked Mona in a serious tone.
“No.”
“How about wife?”
“Haha not yet. Why suddenly ask?”
“Sorry, I'm just paranoid. Usually the good people who approach me usually already have a boyfriend or wife. I just want to make sure.”
Devin smiled, “How about you? Do you have a boyfriend? Or husband maybe?”
In an instant Gama's face instantly popped into his head but Mona hurriedly dispelled that thought and replied, “I'm single.”
“I too. So it doesn't matter whether we go to the amusement park together?”
“Sure.”
Devin smiled, “But you better finish your meal. We'll drain a lot of energy after this.”
“Why is that?”
“When was the last time you took the bus?”
Mona's eyes wide open, “You want us there by bus? Clock like?”
“Haha why not? Definitely exciting.”
All her life she had heard of a guy who asked her out on a date and had to take public transportation. Hearing this Mona felt a little strange. But Devin's courage makes Mona even more curious about him.
“Alright, I accept your challenge. Are you afraid of heights?” ask Mona.
“Lumayan.”
“Then I want us to ride the roller coaster.”
“Haha alright.”
Mona still looked at Devin while thinking about the next counterattack but suddenly Devin's phone rang and after seeing the name on the screen Devin's face immediately riled up instantly.
Devin tries to hide it but dark emotions and aura gather around him. Mona who felt Devin's sudden change in expression made her curious. But he remained silent and just observed while eating the soup.
For the second time Devin's phone rang again. Devin snatched his phone and instantly turned off his phone. He sighed heavily then looked at Mona and said, “Sorry.”
Mona who was eating shook her head slightly and said, “It's okay. Who was that?”
“Ah, only my sister.”
"Well, I also have a sister. I'm not familiar with him.”
“We are the same as it is.” Devin smiled too. Devin continued, “I hope that this time you're not hurt.”
Mona smiled mockingly, “Don't worry, I'm strong kok.”
Devin just laughed.
