Moving to Raden Van Nijhof
CPTR V: Misbehavior

Mona slightly nodded as she lowered her gaze to bribe more ice cream into her mouth. He thought for a moment before deciding to explain, “Since I was still Junior High, my mother always forbade me to eat excess sweet foods. Like this ice cream and chocolate bars. When I was a child I grew up with porous and almost black milk teeth all due to consuming too much sugar. As I grew older, I returned to this bad habit and continued to eat sweet foods.”

Devin smiled hearing that. Just as he was about to say something, his phone suddenly buzzed. He looked over and nodded as a code of apology before answering the call.

“Halo, sir Benny.”

Mona almost spewed out the ice cream she was swallowing when she heard the name. Papa's Name. Mona immediately put on an ear trying to hear the conversation.

“Ah, yes, I'm with Mona now. Yes, we were eating ice cream. All right, accept a lot then. Good night.”

Devin closed the call just now and smiled broadly at Mona. “Pak Benny really cares for you.”

Mona nodded small.

“You seem to be blessed with two parents who really care about you.”

“Not really, they just do all that to keep their image. Do you know that my parents are divorced?”

Devin nodded, “I heard they parted a few years ago.”

“To be exact when I was in High School. When I was supposed to debut High School as a pretty girl with a perfect background, the two guys messed it up.”

Mona put more ice cream in her mouth because she was upset to remember the moment. The memories of the past that he always buried deeply suddenly spilled out and inevitably it made him emotional.

The two let each other sit down for a moment to enjoy their ice cream moment. Their special room facing a giant glass window that shows a view of the park makes the two feel at home to each other.

A cold wind blew in from the window, a chill that suddenly struck their moment of silence. Mona who was wearing thin clothes would not want to shiver slowly.

The cold weather that penetrated made Mona rush to find warmth. His eyes were fixed on the teapot made of glass that Devin had ordered before he came. Mona clings her hand to the surface of the teapot but the heat is excessive and makes her shocked.

Mona accidentally nudges the teapot and falls to the floor and breaks.

“Gosh! Sorry!”

Mona hurriedly stood up and leaned over to pick up the broken glass from the teapot. But when Mona tried to touch one of the biggest pieces it cut the surface of her hand.

Mona grimaced a little, Devin who saw all this hurriedly stood up and walked over to Mona. He took out a handkerchief from his jeans pocket and hurriedly wrapped Mona's hand. During this process Mona can only shut up and watch the disturbing.

“Cautious.”

Mona hesitated for a moment, then slowly accepted.

“Thanks.” Mona said her thanks gently and an apologetic smile spread across her pretty little face.

“Does it hurt?”

Mona lightly shook her head. The light in his eyes seemed very dim, yet he smiled and replied with great difficulty, “Don't worry. When I get to the room I'll treat it.”

Devin nonchalantly looked out the window Mona was staring at earlier. The boundless gray atmosphere out there with a cool breeze coming in through the window seemed to be carrying moisture and they could see the drizzle falling down.

After finishing covering the surface of Mona's injured hand Devin flipped through her as if checking her entire side.

“Come go to the hospital. It is best treated before getting an infection.”

Devin helps Mona stand up and the two walk out. Arriving outside Devin said, “Where is your car?”

“That's.”

Devin slowly takes Mona to his car and sits her in the passenger seat.

“I'll be in for a while and pay. It won't be long. Wait a minute ya.”

Mona just nodded. In the car alone Mona can only stand still and endure the pain. He did not know what kind of feeling was filling his heart. His heart was pounding but not in a painful sense.

After a while Devin returned and sat in the steering wheel beside Mona.

“Kuncimu.”

Mona painstakingly opened her bag and handed over her car keys. Devin receives the key and immediately starts the car and drives it to the highway.

Both are silent. Out there misty and drizzling. The streets were wet and pedestrians rushed to find shelter. AC car deliberately Devin raise so that the temperature is not too cold but still does not make the car glass steamy. In the cold there is a simple warmth that flows in the car, driving away the cold that comes from outside.

“This city has changed a lot. When I was a kid, I remember the area around here is still under construction. It is now a crowded business area. Time goes by so fast.”

Mona turned towards Devin then gave a small nod. Mona suddenly remembered that Devin had been living in Japan for the past few years, so she smiled and said, “Ya, especially these past few years, she said, the new mayor works very well and makes this area the most productive area in the city.”

His father's company, Greenpoint Majesty Group, has several projects around the region as well and Mona is in charge of one of the existing projects so Mona is quite familiar with the atmosphere here.

It was the weekend. Mona is forced by her father who has been silent about arranged marriages and has to leave despite the fog and drizzle on holidays like this. But I don't know why Mona doesn't regret it as usual. He secretly glanced at Devin during their trip to the nearest hospital. One thing Mona knew, her heart kept pounding beside this man.
