The men returned to their hidden base near the forest and swallowed Gunawan's unstoppable fury. I don't know how many of those who died that day were shot by the upset old man.
Gunawan muttered furiously in his heart, “Someone has to pay for every loss I have today!”
Meanwhile, across the river, about thirteen kilometers from where Nancy and Amy were waiting, Aditya and Rudi gushed away from the rushing river. They walked that far while continuing to contact Amy by phone.
As soon as the sun set, they finally managed to meet. Professor Joe looks happy and healthy. They celebrated the victory of this mission in silence. There was no party like Old Leo back then. There's no food.
“Looks like you need your stuff again,” said Amy Aurora as she relentlessly looked into Aditya's eyes.
“I have brought nothing since from Indonesia,” said Aditya while grinning. He did go to Thailand as an international fugitive with Old Leo. Even if it was just a show.
Rudi said, “We don't need to bring our luggage. We can just go right away. Yeah, right, Nancy?”
Nancy just nodded at Rudi's words. Since the arrival of Rudi and Aditya to the car, he did not say a word. He never stopped thinking about how Aditya reacted after hearing that the perpetrator of the leak of information plan Commander Malik at that time was an old friend of Aditya himself.
Yes, Nancy was called by Malik not long ago when Professor Joe just woke up from his stupor. In the phone call, the commander told how the traitor was finally caught off guard. He is Reynaldi, an old friend of Aditya who has not returned to Indonesia for years because of the mission he runs in Africa.
Nancy imagines Aditya will beat his friend out, because because because Reynaldi was doing it, they had to fight harder to help the professor.
They went to a simple hotel in a small corner of town and slept there for two hours. It's more about Professor Joe's need for rest that turns out to be very chatty and demanding. He was indeed kidnapped by Gunawan and the Snake Cobra Alliance, but at the base he was able to get food and a comfortable bed.
“I really can't sleep in a place like this, but I'm so sleepy!” said the professor.
“Then, you should sleep,” Amy replied patiently.
Nancy looks annoyed. He told Aditya, “This kind of person has made us bet our lives!”
“Ya, stop. He is also a genius. Usually geniuses are a bit annoying.”
Rudi who heard it immediately replied, “Gue is a genius, but not nyebelin.”
“Who say you genius?!” nancy Sahut.
“If not a genius, where might get into this team? We are all geniuses in our own way, you know!”
Amy Aurora just laughed at their conversation.
Amy goes alone to the hotel terrace, and Aditya quietly catches up with her.
“So, you will return to Indonesia, yes?” ask Amy while lighting a cigarette.
“Yes, it seems so,” Aditya replied.
“How does it feel to miss home?”
“Now, I never really felt that.”
“You said you wanted to quit all this?”
“Ya,” said Aditya, “but that's different from homesickness. You yourself also want to live a new life huh?”
“I don't know. It seems like I will be stuck in this world forever, Dit,” Amy Aurora replied barely audible. The woman then left the terrace and went to the hotel's spacious parking lot.
“You go now?” ask Aditya.
A car stopped and waited for Amy to board. Aditya thinks the car was driven by Amy's private driver.
“Ya,” replied the woman.
Aditya approaches and hugs Amy, then thanks her for everything she did to help her mission. Amy just smiled and kissed Aditya's cheek. “Go home. Frita may have been waiting for you,” he said.
Before they went to the airport that morning, Commander Malik had a call.
“Alright, what do you want to hear, Dit?” ask Commander Malik across the phone. His voice sounded so doubtful.
“Someone who leaked information to Leo, so our mission got messed up, Commander,” Aditya replied flatly.
“OK. By the way, we've found the bastard. You can beat him later upon arrival in Indonesia.”
Nancy noticed Aditya's irritated expression. Looks like Commander Malik is now mentioning Reynaldi's name on the phone. But, to his surprise, Aditya instead said, “Let that be your business, Commander. I don't have to beat him. I've had enough of all this.”
The phone was shut down after a few minutes of talk about their return and any documents they needed at the airport later in the day.
That morning Aditya looked outside the window of the hotel, there was a group of armed men who were looking for something. He knew it must be Gunawan's men or maybe Garry Lee's men who were vengeful because he killed Old Leo.
“Gunawan can tell Garry Lee anything so he can get me,” he told Rudi.
“Yes, he could have guessed Old Leo died because you tried to escape from him. Not because Gunawan wants him dead.”
“Garry Lee is not a random person. I don't really know myself, but fool me,” said Aditya. He then slipped out with a gun.
Nancy looked at ease noticing her formidable partner coming out. Surely the Aditya will knock down their hunters in a short time. Said Rudi, outside there are ten people. Armed and ready to slaughter Aditya.
“Do I better help him, yes?” rudi asked Nancy while peeking out the window.
“Ten people is not a problem for Aditya. In that secret prison, he beat more than that. Never mind, Loe's here. Relax that professor.”
Professor Joe looked very agitated as soon as he knew there were scouts outside the hotel.
But Aditya was no match for them. In less than five minutes, he was back in the room. It looked like he had just come home from a picnic. There was no sense of tension or fear at all.
“Aready to go?” ask Aditya.
Rudi laughed instead not seeing him ask so. “Ready, Boss!” said.
“Why is he laughing?” ask Aditya to Nancy.
“Ten people is no match, is it?” replied the woman while patting Rudi's stomach.
Aditya can only shake his head.
They left the hotel shortly afterwards.
In the car, Rudi looks busy treating his wounds that are still wet due to being beaten by a group of half-thugs who “maintained” Gunawan Mahdi in his hidden business center. Meanwhile, Nancy who was driving looked relaxed.
Professor Joe keeps raving about the state of his wife and son at home. He had never heard from them since they were kidnapped of course. So he looks nervous. Rudi tried to calm the mustachioed man while treating his wounds.
Aditya had no interest in talking to them. After all, they also just met here, on a mission that Aditya did not expect at all.
After arriving in Indonesia later, Aditya is sure they will not be related again. After this he will reject whatever mission Malik might give him.
At the airport, Aditya gets the files he, Professor Joe, Nancy, and Rudi need.
The file was sent through an unknown person working for Interpol so that the four of them could board a regular plane with the other passengers. The man looked mute, as he did not speak and simply handed the package to Aditya and left.
“Good. Time to go home!” rudi said with pleasure.
“When to go home,” inner Aditya with uncertain feelings.
Seriate....
