Caitlyn begins her first day at the Kendric family's university. Unlike what was feared earlier, it turns out that all her coworkers are very enthusiastic to welcome the arrival of Caitlyn.
The woman felt very appreciated. It felt like he had not received this kind of attention and kindness for a long time.
After introducing herself in the lecturer's room, Aileen immediately took Caitlyn around the campus, while explaining a few things.
"This campus has been built since the early 1900s by the first generation of the Kendric family, and it has become an absolute rule in our family, that every heir is a boy," said the 40-year-old woman.
"What if the family doesn't have a son?" ask Caitlyn.
"Like my uncles and aunts who don't even have children. If they adopt a child, that child will inherit all of this." Answer Aileen.
Caitlyn nodded her head. It is fitting that Owen was finally lined up as the next heir, even though he was only an adopted child. Though clearly Aileen could have inherited it.
In addition, the harmony of the Kendric family is indeed worthy of thumbs up. No one objected to the decision. The relationship between families looks very harmonious.
Aileen also took Caitlyn through a hallway that people rarely pass.
The hallway does look different from other places, because on the right left side of the hallway there is a glass display along with photos of the owner from generation to generation. Not only that, the appearance was quite luxurious with a red carpet that stretched along the hallway.
"This is your work space." Alieen stopped right in front of a big door. "Owen's room I'm wearing now, is at the end of it." The woman then pointed at another large door.
Caitlyn frowned. Because, as he remembered earlier, taking care of campus financial data is in the room next to the counter.
"Isn't my room next to the counter, along with the others?" ask Caitlyn astonishment.
"Indeed, but specifically for you it's not so. Either way, you're Owen's wife, Cait, the college owner's wife. So, you should've gotten the privilege."
Caitlyn was about to refuse, but Aileen did not allow it. Regardless of Caitlyn's unwell look, Alieen immediately pulled her inside.
Caitlyn was completely dumbfounded to see the magnificent room. For a moment he felt like he was going back to ancient Europe.
Well, this campus did not undergo much significant change. In some parts it still retains the old design, including the important rooms.
As a result, in order to avoid unnecessary debate, Caitlyn thanked him.
Five minutes later, a well-looking woman came into Caitlyn's room.
"Greetings, Mrs Kendric. I'm Laura Andrean who will help you work. May you please work with me." She looks good, but a little mysterious. It seems like she is not the type of woman who talks a lot and is good at small talk.
Caitlyn smiled kindly. "Please help her, Miss Laura," the woman asked.
"Then call me Caitlyn. Our age doesn't seem so far away."
Laura was silent for a moment, before finally nodding her head.
"Then can we start now?" ask Caitlyn kindly.
Laura walked over to Caitlyn, and gave her the laptop she had been carrying.
...**********...
Meanwhile, Sean had just gotten a report from Laura about Caitlyn. Actually it was the man who asked Aileen to put Caitlyn in a separate room, after hearing the news, that Aileen offered her a job. He also asked his cousin to prepare someone who could look after Caitlyn.
Longing grew in Sean's heart, when Laura sent him a portrait of Caitlyn. However, his plan to return to the woman could not be accomplished.
Ariana's threat to reveal Sean's true identity to Caitlyn is not the main cause, but the father's health.
Sean hopes that his father's health will improve soon, so that he, Chloe, and Wayne can return home.
However, hope remains hope, just after one week of treatment in the hospital, Jacob finally breathed his last in Sean's lap.
"Never hate Owen, Sean. After all, you have the same blood, and once shared the same place in your mother's womb."
It was a sentence that came out of Jacob's mouth shortly before he died. Not to forget, he also left an apology for Caitlyn, because in old times he did not have enough courage to defend her.
Ariana herself was crying hysterically while calling out Jacob's name. No one dared to disturb the family, the doctor allowed Sean and Ariana to stay close to Jacob longer, before taking him to the mortuary.
