17. Chloe and Wayne's.

Three days later.

"When we meet again, Chloe!"

"Tomorrow we exchange supplies again huh?" Julia and Kylie, two of Chloe's closest friends at school, yell in unison while waving their hands at the girl.

"OKAY. See you tomorrow!" Chloe replies to the screams and hand-waves of her two best friends, then separates.

"Cloe!" Wayne, the younger brother who had been waiting for him on the park bench, rushed over. Wayne usually does go home first, but on certain days they will go home together, because Wayne takes additional tutoring.

The two walked towards the parking lot, where their private driver was waiting.

However, once there, neither Wayne nor Chloe can find Aiden. However, their eyes were suddenly fixed on a man in a black and teary-eyed man who looked familiar.

Seeing the presence of Chloe and Wayne, the teary-eyed man walked over to them.

"Uncle James!" cry Chloe, so see more clearly who the figure of the man. He was a confidant of his grandfather who loved them very much.

James crouched down to greet the two children, and directly lifted them into a sling.

"How are you guys? Are you guys all right?" ask James.

Chloe and Wayne nodded in spirit. "We're very good, Uncle. Wayne and I can even go back to school!" exclaim Chloe enthusiastically.

James smiled wryly. Her heart was pinched hearing Chloe's plain speech. Seeing the happiness that radiated on their faces, James was sure, Caitlyn took good care of both her hearts.

"Goody!" The three mince words for a moment, before James finally expressed his intention to take them.

"Where are you going, Uncle? Ahh, Uncle knows where we're from?" chloe said suddenly.

"Your grandfather is very ill. He misses you both." That was the only answer James could give. As for the last question, he deliberately did not answer it.

"Grandfather's sick! Well, then, let's call mom first, Uncle. Mom and Dad are gone. They'll be back tomorrow!" exclaim Chloe.

"No need!" sergeant James. "They've been informed first, and will follow tomorrow. So, for now you can come with me."

Hearing James' words, Chloe did not believe.

James does not lose his mind, he tries to convince Chloe by telling her the whereabouts of his personal driver. "You don't have to worry, your mother did tell me to come. That's why Aiden didn't come to pick me up. Because I was asked to replace him."

Knowing James knew the name of his personal driver, Chloe also believed. As a result, they were without coercion into James' car and left there.

However, a long time ago, Aiden's car arrived at the school yard. The man arrived late, because two tires broke in the middle of the road.

Knowing the atmosphere at school has begun to quiet, Aiden finally goes into the building to pick up Chloe and Wayne.

"Chloe was out of class about ten minutes ago, Mr. Aidens. I also contacted the building next door. They say Wayne's class has been disbanded since twenty-two minutes ago."

Hearing the information the homeroom teacher gave, Aiden was shocked. He asks permission to view CCTV footage to confirm Chloe and Wayne's whereabouts.

"Hello, Chloe," said Owen.

"Sir, please come home now, sir!" Normally, Chloe's the one who calls them using Anna's phone. However, instead of the voice of the eldest princess, they found Anna's panicked voice.

"What's Anna?" ask Owen in confusion.

"Chloe and Wayne were taken by car at school. Aiden is trying to figure out where they are. Forgive us who have been negligent, Sir!" Crying as hard as Anna briefly explains Chloe and Wayne's condition.

Owen was surprised. The man stared at his wife with a worried look.

"What's wrong? Chloe said what?" ask Caitlyn.

Owen remained silent. "We're going home now. Call Burdon and tell him to come look!" Instead of answering his wife's question, he gave Anna an order, before hanging up the phone.

Caitlyn closed her last suitcase, and walked over to Owen. "Darling, what's wrong? Why is your face so pale? You're scaring me!" exclaim that woman.

Owen hugged Caitlyn for a moment, and asked her not to panic as she told him.

Caitlyn nodded. "What's wrong?"

"There's someone picking up the kids at school, Aiden is trying to figure it out."

Hearing this, Caitlyn could not keep her promise. The woman panicked and asked her husband to book a ticket right now. Their intention to fly at night was void.

Ariana, who almost fell asleep in the living room, woke up, when one of her domestic assistants told her about James' arrival. After an air journey of about eight hours, James finally arrived at the stately home of Edmund's residence.

James is not alone. Chloe and Wayne are with him. Wayne even looked calm in the arms of the teary-eyed man.

"Lookie! Wayne!" Ariana ran to her two grandchildren with faces full of novelty. He even gathered in front of Chloe to hug his beloved granddaughter. Who would have thought, the little girl refused. Holding back a cry, he asked her whereabouts.

"Grandma, where's Mom? Uncle James said, Mother will follow. I've been asking Uncle to call mom, but he never did.

Ariana glanced briefly at James, who was standing behind Chloe, before turning her eyes again to her beloved grandson.

"Grandma's gonna call your mom, honey. So, you don't have to worry, do you?" said the paid part-woman. He tried to calm the heart of his beloved grandson. However, this did not seem to work, as the seven-and-a-half-year-old girl began to cry sobbing.

"So, Uncle James lied to me! Grandma lied to me too! I can't believe Grandma's gonna call mom! Grandma, right, always mean to mom!" chloe shouted.

Ariana was speechless, her face red withstanding emotions. "Chloe, listen! Grandma's sorry for bringing you here. Grandma just wants to get you together with your sick grandfather!" exclaims Ariana while holding both shoulders Chloe.

Chloe grimaced in pain. "Granny lied!" his jolt.

"If you don't believe me, come with Grandma!" Without waiting for an answer from Chloe, Ariana pulled the granddaughter's hand to go inside.

James could not do anything, other than just being silent to watch the interaction of the two. Carrying the sleeping Wayne, he entered the house.
